Alan Pardew will have to make a few decisions about what team walks out to play against high playing Chelsea tomorrow – and we hope it’s not the first time Jose Mourinho gets a win at St. James’ Park.
Fabricio Coloccini – could start tomorrow
Alan’s first decision is whether to start Fabricio Coloccini, who has been out almost a month – and he trained yesterday for the first time, but he seemed to come through that OK.
In the last couple of games Mike Williamson and Paul Dummett have played there, but Mike had a poor first half on Tuesday night at Burnley – and seemed not to be concentrating for whatever reason – and Steven Taylor came on at half time and played well.
We have a hunch that Colo will start this game.
And if that’s true it could be the unlucky Massadio Haidara who drops to the bench, and that would be a bit harsh on the Frenchman, who has been playing well all season.
And then if Pardew plays in a 4-3-3 formation – he has to choose who to leave out from Moussa Sissoko, Jack Colback, Cheick Tiote and Mehdi Abeid, and we think it’s between the last two.
We prefer young Abeid, but it would be a little bit of a surprise if Pardew starts Cheick on the bench – because of his vast experience in big games.
Sammy Ameobi is out injured and Rolando Aarons is also not available – so maybe Remy Cabella gets a start out wide with Papiss Cisse and Yoan Gouffran making up the front three.
It’s almost certain the Newcastle manager will start Gouffran, and that’s because of his work rate against the best side in the Premier League at the moment.
So here’s our team for tomorrow:
Elliot
Janmaat Taylor (S) Coloccini Dummett
Colback Sissoko Abeid
Gouffran Cisse Cabella
Subs: Alnwick Haidara Williamson Anita Tiote Perez Riviere
We have Yoan on the right wing tomorrow, so that he can help Daryl Janmaat handle a certain Eden Hazard.
Pardew could prefer Tiote to Abeid and he could even leave the defense unchanged from the side that finished the game at Burnley, so Dummett at center-back and Haidara at left back.
We expect Papiss Cisse to start in place of 21 year-old Ayoze Perez tomorrow too.
What would you team be for tomorrow?

Comment #1Anyone else have this crazy daydream where MA decides he’s made enough profit at the club and can loosen the purse strings slightly in order to build a big brand.
He’ll spend some money. Nothing insane. But maybe 20-25mil on a good young player or 2. Like that striker kid we’re being linked with whatever his name is.
We finish top 4 and start to become a powerhouse in European football. Talented players, attacking football, major European upsets on a weekday evening. Watching Messi visit St. James.
I know this is all bs but the frustrating thing is that MA is probably capable of it if he just gave it a go. And in the league right now, with Liverpool, Everton, Spurs, manure, Arsenal etc spending a fortune and struggling to be consistent, the opportunity is incredible and the risk pretty low.
Also VODAFONE are going to challenge Sky and BT for the premier league rights in the next bidding round. It’s getting crazy the TV money for the prem.
I wish I owned the club. Hehe

Comment #2I wonder about using all four midfielders with two up front.

Comment #3Coloccini will play, if he’s fit alongside Saylor, as they are the senior centre halves, and Dummett, will move to left back. Sissoko and Colback, will beef up the midfield alongside Tiote.

Comment #5We went into this season badly needing a proven quality striker, Remy kept us in the premier league last season. We are relying on a unpredictable kid (perez) and a poacher ( cisse) this season,
let’s just hope the lads put a shift in or it could become embarrassing.

We need to use Papiss Cisse. He is the most precise striker I have ever seen. And I must admit he is a passive striker but when he shoots on the goal that is incredible. He is not good passer, nor speedy but he is a sniper. If properly used he is dangerous.
