Chelsea Now Reported After Top Newcastle Midfielder

The Mail has reported that Chelsea, as well as Arsenal, are interested in signing Moussa Sissoko, and that’s even though Jose Mourinho has said no players will be leaving or coming into the club over the January transfer window.

We suppose Moussa could be a target of the Blues in the summer, but with Chelsea’s midfield so strong, Moussa may want to think twice if Chelsea do come in for him

The 25 year-old will have noticed that both Yohan Cabaye and Loic Remy are not exactly playing a lot of football this season, after leaving Newcastle this year to join bigger clubs – PSG and Chelsea respectively.

Chelsea have midfield players like Matic, Fabregas, Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Ramires, Schurrle and Mikel – so it would be difficult for Moussa to get a lot of games at Chelsea.

This Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is a big admirer of the Frenchman:

“He is only a young player, 25, and he has already got 27 national caps for France. This is a guy who could win 50, 60 or 70 caps for France.”

‘He is a powerful player and he is better player now than he was back then.” ‘Don’t get me wrong, he had a great day then against Chelsea but he is better now,”

But that’s because he has more experience and a better knowledge of the Premier League.” ‘He has technically improved, without a doubt.’

Chelsea have a better midfield than PSG have – and Yohan Cabaye is likely to leave PSG next month – so that he can play some first team games – somewhere.

Hopefully Moussa will have seen there are not too many players who leave Newcastle, and do better away from Newcastle than when they were playing at the club.

Yohan Cabaye is a great example of that.

We’d be surprised if Chelsea are really interested in signing Sissoko, but we understand why Arsenal are interested – because physically their midfield is weak – and they need some steel there.

Moussa Sissoko will show the Gunners next Saturday at the Emirates Stadium, what a physically powerful central midfielder can do, and he has often been compared with the great former Arsenal midfielder, Patrick Vieira.

Moussa has played 72 times with 8 goals for Newcastle United – and we hope he plays a lot more games on Tyneside in the coming years.

What do you think?

No im a good boy and do my shopping through year picking up prezzies as I go along. Made the mistake of waiting till the last shopping week before and never again.
Moussa will only get better and better for this club and for me will become a bigger player for us than Cabs. So naturally we will always have the so called big boys sniffing around our top players.
Would sooner lose Mr T than Sissoko if I had to make a choice, As we have enough cover in the holding midfield, but do not have another Moussa in stock

Silly story unless Jose planted it to unsettle Sissoko then it’s very clever, very Fergie like.

one of the thinngs the top clubs looks for is consistency sissoko has hardly been that in his time here
if we keep him in the middle and after year he is consistent then I would think he would go

cabs hit the ground running here more or less and still took 2,5 years before he was sold

Let’s face it…Sissoko will start to trot out ‘I need to play Champions league football’ by the end of the year to engineer a move.

Can’t blame him to be honest as he’s an ambitious Pro.

We’re a good shop window for him, and the club isn’t ambitious enough to keep our best players.

Hope he shows more class than Cabaye in order to get his move.

Do you think it was because he was an integral part of the team and our success depended on him OR that nobody came in with the right amount. You know my answer.

Sissoko is different quality for Mourinho’s team and I don’t believe in this title personally. But Arsene can hook on him.Sissoko is not Makalele anyway. He is Vieira,Diame type of player.Type of players that Wenger needs.

Newcastle United, will do well to hang on to Sissoko, he’s a great player, and the way to spot this is when they are missing from the team. The Burnley game proved that.

Can’t believe go toon is skating deschamps.

He’s a guy that took a nation of talented players that fail every time and built a team of contenders. They could well win the euros. He completely rejuvenated Frances style and system putting cabaye as an anchor, pushing full backs forward and opting for players that would play for the team like valbuena over talented but selfish wankers like Nasri.

all down to cash the only reason we got 20 of psg is like us there fans want home nation players
we were never going to take the 10 that arsenal wanted
and I also think that pards was telling the truth when for the last couple of windows he calimed the club turned down good offers I would think they were all around the 10 12 mark
I think we were lucky that psg came in for him cos we would have lost him for a lot less I would think

    Don’t be silly.
Sissoko will NEVER get a move to a top 4 club, simply because he isn’t good enough.

People saying he’s what Arsenal needs ?
    Stop it, please.

Arsenal need a DM not a box to box midfielder.

Sissoko has awful technical ability, but people seem to think he’ll make it at the top level.

    He won’t.

He’s good for us, not any higher.

Sissoko is the only really useful as DM.And if Pardew wants,he can play him as a goalkeeper, striker, boxes 🙂 etc. also but the effect would be questionable.Wrong position can make top players to look poor.

Hopefully Abramovich is at the the game. What’s Ash worth, 3 billion? When a bigger swinging dick swaggers into town, always think it might encourage the tightarse to part with a bit of it, on a world class no9, for example.

That quote of Pardew’s is nothing other than an effort to hike any selling price for Siszoko, up.

He’s waxed lyrical about the lad and doing so when he could be tempted to move on is nothing short of stupidity.

If anything, he should have established Ashley’s view and issue the appropriate message to the media.

Of course he may already have done that, hence his utterances about how great Sissoko has become.

Could Sissoko be the next to leave? I’d be delighted were that not the case however, with Ashley, my gut says he’s off in the summer at the latest.
