24 year-old Marseilles Ghanaian winger Andre Ayew will become a free agent in the summer, and in these types of situations clubs can move in during the January to try to sign him for only a nominal fee.
24 year-old Andre Ayew – Marseilles and Ghana winger
The 24 year-old has been out with injury for four weeks, and he returned to the Marseilles first team at the weekend,
The Ghanaian international scored his club’s second goal after 59 minutes, in their 3-1 win at home to Metz, and the win keeps Marseilles one point ahead of PSG on 38 points after 17 games played.
Talk Sport is reporting that both Liverpool and Newcastle are interested in the player, but last summer Liverpool cooled their interest in the skillful wide man – so we would be surprised if Liverpool are still interested – although Ayew has said moving to Liverpool would be his dream move.
And with some good wingers coming through on Tyneside like Sammy Ameobi, Rolando Aarons, Gabby Obertan and Remy Cabella, it could be that Newcastle’s interest in the player has also cooled, but Mike Ashley always like a good deal too.
This is what Andre has said about his situation:
“What matters to me is to play, to have fun. After that, in football, you do not know what can happen,” “The most important thing for me is to play and win matches with OM.”
With Liverpool slumping this season, it could be that they will become interested again in signing Andre, who has played 178 games with 52 goals and 19 assists for his French club, since joining them back in 2007.
We’d be surprised if Newcastle make a move for him in January, since a striker is our main requirement, but if he’s available as a free agent in the summer, who knows?

They need as many questionnaires filled out as possible – please see if you can help them here.
