Pardew Praises Arsenal Manager – Slams Fans – Video

Here is some of the press conference yesterday, where Alan Pardew defended and praised the Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, who for 17 seasons running has got Arsenal into the knockout rounds of the Champions League – and that ‘s a very high level of consistency almost unmatched in present day football.

But it’s still not good enough for some Arsenal fans it seems.

We wish Newcastle had been in the last 16 in the Champions League every season for the last 17 years.

    Mr Tuff,
Ha ha, he is subliminally substituting himself in old Wengers place. That would make me physically sick, ‘The Alan Pardew Stand’.

It isn’t really Pardew’s place to criticise Arsenal fans. They pay a small fortune year in year out to watch their side. For years now they have had the same failings in their team/squad. If Wenger is unable to fix those problems, or even realise they are there then why shouldn’t they criticise.

Honestly,Arsene Wenger is far from seeing and thinking that he had earlier.Style of football the same but choice of players very very bad.And that is the key for his lack of productivity and fans reaction. His successful history buys him time but he is not the same manager. But there is a lot of truth in the Pardew’s words this time.

    Mr.Tuff.(previous thread)

I’ve absolutely no problem with criticism of the manager for his formation, his tactics, or anything else concerned with the job for which he is paid – that of football manager.
I have it on record that IMO he is a long way off being a top manager – average to decent ( on a good day) at best.
The abuse being directed at AP before the good run started was far far more than criticism on footballing matters. It was personal and even included interpretations of anything he said to put the worst possible meaning on his words. ( Like your recent comment regarding his perfectly honest and straightforward interview in praise of what Wenger has achieved in his time at Arsenal.)
I’m sure I’m not the only one on here to see it, at it’s worst, as a hate campaign.

You’re always treading into murky waters I feel criticising other fans. I think the majority of our fans (myself included) were to put it mildly pretty annoyed with some of the press coverage that conveyed us as fickle when Pardew turned the results around. Up till that point we’d been served up absolute garbage on the pitch for well over a year which the press conveniently ignored.

I think looking at it as an outsider you’d have to say first of all that Arsenal fans pay more than anybody else in the UK to watch their football so surely they have a right to ask questions if they’re not happy. Secondly I’d say that Wenger is notoriously stubborn and he has failed to address for several seasons now the evident gaps in that Arsenal team. There’s no doubt he’s done a wonderful job but Wenger won’t be there forever and they’ll have to cut the cord at some point. I don’t think personally that it’s unreasonable for the fans to be asking questions.
