Our Man Of The Match Could Be Find Of The Season

One thing that was positive for Newcastle in our 4-1 defeat at the Emirates yesterday afternoon, was the form and goal of 21 year-old Ayoze Perez, who arrived on Tyneside in the summer from Spain, and was supposed to be part of the Development squad under Peter Beardsley this season.

But he immediately impressed in training and yesterday was his 17th appearance for the Newcastle first team and his fourth goal for us.

Ayoze is coming off a good season for Tenerife in the Spanish second division, when he scored 16 goals in 35 appearances.

A good shot of the goal – Ayoze Perez is there somewhere

Since we signed him for €2M (£1.6M), he is already a bargain buy and could turn out to be the find of the season.

He easily wins our Man of the Match  for yesterday’s game with 52% of the vote, followed by Jack Colback, who gave another good performance for his home town club and put in some good free kicks and crosses, and Jack got the assist for the Ayoze goal yesterday.

Here is a video of that goal.

Pardew just needs to be brave and keep dummett at centre back, haidara should be the left back

Start cabella and riviere vs spurs, drop cisse and gouffran

Geordie 157 agree with you 100%. To go off subject a little but I watched the match and was wondering if anyone knows why it is when we play a cockney team they have those 2 T***ers Smith and Quinn as summarisers. Everybody knows they hate us with a vengeance.

Shocking display with Willo in the team,I would agree with You that we should’ve kept Dummett at CB and had Haidara at LB.
GOUFFRAN was utterly useless apart from his saved header.
Tiote – just sell him,he slowed us down all game and loses the ball too easily with his pirouettes.

I like this kid, too. Good touch, gets stuck in far better than you’d expect, always positive towards getting forward and plays with invention and intelligence. He is going to be a purple for future years if Mashley doesn’t decide to cash out.

No argument with MOM but did you see how poor Rivière was when he came on. He could be the worst forward I’ve ever seen play for us, at one point he completely ducked/bottled going in for a header. What did we ever see in him, other than he was available and dirt cheap
