Spurs are in the Europa League this season, and they have qualified for the knockout stages of that competition by finishing second in their Group C to Besiktas, with 11 points from the six games played.
Mauricio Pochettino – Spurs manager
They are also in the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup, when they play Newcastle tonight at White Hart Lane, and in the last round the Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino made 10 changes, when they beat Brighton 2-0 at home.
And the manager may well do the same thing tonight against the Magpies.
This is what the Argentine said when asked if he would make lots of changes to his side:
“Maybe. At the beginning of the season, we played a lot of games, 26 official games.” “For tomorrow, maybe one player is tired and not fresh, and if another team-mate is in better condition then why not?”
“But I am a manager and I need to make a decision. You cannot pick a team to guarantee that we go to the semi-final.”
“In football it is easy to talk after the game. But the important thing is taking the decision before. When you are the coach, you have all the information and if you win, you are the best.”
“And if you don’t, you are a s**t who made the wrong decision. This is true.”
“Adebayor was back yesterday, but play tomorrow? No.” “He began training after one week yesterday so it would be impossible for him to be ready tomorrow.”
The reference to Adebayor was because the 30 year-old was granted compassionate leave and he flew to Ghana last week for what were termed “personal reasons”.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City star has not been used too much this season as Harry Kane has come into the side, and the Togo International will not play tonight against Newcastle.
It looks like Alan Pardew will play our strongest side, but there are still nine first team players out with injury until January, and Daryl Janmaat is also suspended for this game.
We heard last night that Papiss Cisse has a heavy cold, and both Cheick Tiote and Mike Williamson have picked up muscle strains and are now doubtful for the game tonight.
Apart from that we are in great shape. 😀

On jak alnwick. I see two sides to this argument. One being that he is being unfairly outed for the loss, the other, that he is just a kid. Maybe, he is… But so what ?! De gea is only 1 or 2 years older, same with Courtois. But when a goal goes past them they dont just say he’s a kid…
Yes, I understand that de gea and courtois are really good for there age and have vast experience hence why they play for top teams, but the same logic doesnt apply to them. If your going to give him an excuse and back him up, dont say hes just a kid… But that he has been brought in at the worst possible time i.e. Tough premier league games, cup game, lots of fixtures. That! Is a more valid excuse. Especially since starting now is his first ever time in the first team.

Comment #4Emmanuel Adebayor will not be rushed back for Tottenham Hotspur’s Capital One Cup quarter-final tie with Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
Adebayor has returned to training after a week’s compassionate leave in Africa.
The Togo striker was allowed to return home after he was embroiled in a family row.
In November, Adebayor’s older brother Kola claimed the player had been brainwashed by Islamic spiritual healers into thinking their mother used black magic to sabotage his form on the pitch.
Tottenham dont play Fiorentina until February They have Burnley at home on Saturday I think they will give it a go tonight

I always thought that Tim Kruls debut was away at Palermo for some reason, Luque too?
He’s defo going to start Goofy tonight. Finally injuries might force Pardew into picking the correct team again. That’s the only time we ever win. I pray that Willo is injured.
On a side note, Taylor bottles every single derby. Hope Dummet is in the centre and Haidara on the left.
