Good News For Newcastle

At his press conference today Alan Pardew had some good news – for a change – and he indicated that five players who had been doubtful for the big game against Sunderland on Sunday were in training today or would train tomorrow.

Alan Pardew – five players should be fit

This is what Alan Pardew has said in his press conference today:

“Jak Alnwick is fine,” “Cisse was in today, Tiote and Ameobi will train tomorrow and Steven Taylor trained today.”

Four of those players are listed in Newcastle’s latest injury list on whihc has gone up to 14 players – with Moussa Sissoko having been added, but we expect Moussa to start the game on Sunday.

Steven Taylor is not even listed as injured, and three of the five players are Geordies.

Jak Alnwick injured his shoulder on Wednesday night near the end of the game, but that was checked out and is OK – and that means Newcastle don’t qualify to bring in an emergency goalkeeper.

If these players are all fit to play on Sunday then we could be able to field a decent side, which we really were not able to do at Tottenham on Wednesday night in the Carling Cup.

It’s good to have some good news – for a change.

I would be far more confident if Abeid was playing.
He gives balance to our midfield, assuming Ssoks and Colback are the other two.

So what your saying ED is that Ameobi Cisse Tiote Saylor where all rested for spurs as a lot suspected.

Can’t say I’m excited at the prospect of Saylor and Tiote facing the mackems.
