It’s Going To Be Great Year And Great Season For Newcastle

The best thing that’s happened for Newcastle this season is that we have seen some younger players come to the fore and two of them – Rolando Aarons and Ayoze Perez have just come into the first team this season.

Rolando Aarons alan pardew atManchester+City+v+Newcastle+8sXzNgRye6Fl

Rolando Aarons at Manchester City where he scored after six minutes

The other two players are both local lads – Paul Dummett and 17 year-old dam Armstrong who showed flashed of what he is capable of at Manchester United.

This is what Alan Pardew has said today:

“It’s going to be a great year and a great season for Newcastle. I genuinely think that with Paul Dummett, Rolando Aarons, Adam Armstrong and Ayoze Perez, we have four really outstanding young players.”

“And that is very, very difficult to get through at a Premier League club. We’ve managed to buy one of them and the other three have come through the system.”

“We also have Sammy Ameobi, who we missed on Boxing Day. Hopefully he’ll return for the Everton game.”

We’ve only seen Rolando Aarons a few times this season – five appearances with two goals – but what we’ve seen is enough to realize this lad can become a great player for Newcastle.

But he’s been struggling with a hamstring strain for the last few months, which is why we haven’t seen too much of him,  and he still isn’t expected to return until about three weeks time in mid-January.

And in January we could also see Tim Krul, Davide Santon, Siem de Jong, Ryan Taylor and Jonas Gutierrez back playing for Newcastle, along with Rolando.

We should be able to field a much stronger side at that time – and hopefully we can also bring in a  top striker next month during the transfer window – we needs somebody who can score goals for us.

And we’ll be losing Papiss Cisse to the African Cup of Nations for up to six weeks  starting in early January – and we’ll also lose Mehdi Abeid and Cheick Tiote at that time. 🙁

Why isn’t the African Cup of Nations every four years (and not every couple of years) like other competitions such as Euro 2016 and the World Cup?

Comments welcome.

Shut up Pardew. We all know it won’t be. It’ll be fraught with disappointment and frustration like every single year under your management.

    Sage,
Sissoko has also played in a lot of heavy defeats, as has Colo, Willo, Saylor, Dummet, etc. Tiote may slow play down, but we also always have more possession when he plays.

If Abeid was fit to play, then fine, but he isn’t (possibly because he fell victim to Pardew’s early injury return tactic). Sissoko doesn’t dominate like he should and Colback looked lost on Friday. I think if Tiote doesn’t start, McCarthy, Barkley and whichever other plays in midfield will have the freedom of the park, as Rooney and Mata did.

You don’t have a sense where and how to play at least half of the Newcastle squad mate.Cabella benched and when plays hardly displaced.Sammy plays winger and that is not good for watching and for the heart.Adam Armstrong plays as a striker and that is crucial mistake(this player naturally can’t be striker). This is Premier League man.Injuries are injuries but manager who knows football will do a lot of different things on the pitch with available and for me personally still one of the best squad in the Premier League.Forget injured players.Look at this strong squad available because you are weakening hardly this team currently.

Pardew has lost four in a row twice now, he has also lost five and six and survived the chop, he will not be joining Crystal Palace, and besides they’re looking for a manager to avoid the drop not guarantee it.

sameobi is good. but i don’t know why i just find a sloppy footballer. it’s the way he runs and plays with the ball at his feet. i do’nt like his body language with it. it’s just so sloppy and like he doesn’t care.

but i know that’s not true and it’s just his long limbs fault. he can’t do anything about it.

    Go toon go,
You can’t play Anita at RB, he’s right footed for dtarters and only plsyed there 34 times for Ajax, no Gouffran is ideal for the role.

we are not hearing too much about manager of the month at the moment -surprise surprise. a few weeks ago it seemed like the whole football world were mysteriously spouting in unison their praise for king percy. it’s all gone quiet -bit like the blog, most of the exploding cigar brigade are no longer crowing but hiding away. this boom and then bust style we have at the moment really highlights exceptionally poor management.

I know those heavy defeats are’t tiote’s fault, just saying that when he plays it doesn’t stop them, we still get beaten badly with or without him.

I’d rather we just went for it, lost 4-3 instead of 4-0 and hopefully we get a win instead. Maybe a tad naive on my part but I think it’s worth a go.

Anita would be great RB if given chance. He is very fast at turning and have good technique.Janmaat is a lot heavier than Anita.
I don’t want Gouffran to play winger(I think that he is Wiltord-substitute kind of striker)but is a far better than Sammy and Sissoko. They are poor there.Last year with Sissoko playing right winger we were almost relegated.

    Mister Tuff,
Contrary to what his six fans say, we can enjoy it when he seemingly turned it round, the same can’t be said for the flip side of his erratic management and absolute dire football. If we do manage to scrape a win today it will be a cagey dour affair with the 1500 scousers making them selves heard.

Thought I’d pop on and say I’m not optimistic for today. Not just because we are in a rut and leaking goals left right and centre and playing shite to boot (ok a little bit because of that lol) For some reason everton no matter how bad they are playing, always seem to “turn up” against us. Add lukaku to the mix who again seems to like playing us and no doubt will have a stormer after not doing much for the last few weeks. That little hippy baines is likely to score again only this time it’ll be from just inside his own half.

Really want the win and I’m hoping for a formation of 4-3-3

    Janmaat colo dummett hairdryer

    Tiote Sissoko colback

    Perez cisse cabella

Attack from the off and press high. None of this containment bollox and hoofing it to Perez. No goofy, no willo and we should stand atleast a chance as they offer nothing apart from flapper! Please stop playing them king.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

What planet is this clown on?

Dummett is an average left back but looked okay at centre half!

Aarons has had a couple of promising games but yet to sign a contract!

Armstrong has looked lost as he is only 17 and 4ft 2!

Sammy – Is world class for 30 seconds but awful for the other 89 minutes plus!

Perez – Well we got lucky there!

    —————Alnwick————–
    Janmaat-Taylor-Colo-Haidara
    ———–Sissoko-Colback——-
    —————–cabella—————
    perez———-cisse———riviere

A 433 with cabella just ahead of sissoko and colback, might as well really get at them and attack, they are woeful at the minute but if we sit back and let them play we are in trouble.
