English Manager Turns Down Newcastle

Tony Pulis has already told his representatives to call off any talks with Newcastle United for him to replace Alan Pardew on Tyneside.

The former Stoke and Crystal Palace manager told his advisers to end discussions with Newcastle,  because he is worried that he would not have enough input into who Newcastle go after in the transfer market.

That’s handled by committee at the club, with owner Mike Ashley and Chief Scout Graham Carr having big input on who comes into the club.

It was something that Alan Pardew put up with in his four years on Tyneside, but it also seems to be one of the reasons why he will leave Newcastle for Crystal Palace, where he has been promised almost complete control on transfers.

Pulis has been out of work since leaving Crystal Palace before the start of the Premier League season, when he had a disagreement with Chairman Steve Parrish on players coming into the club.

And other managers may turn down Newcastle because of Mike Ashley’s strict financial controls on the club.

Tony Pulis was one of the favorites for the Newcastle job.

Ashley has no interest in the club whatsoever…he bought it for the free advertising and the new sky deal that was being negotiated at the time….no interest in football or Europe or cups or anything football related whatsoever…it’s all just about making money.

He is without doubt a genius businessman and the most predatory retail mogul on the planet…you would not believe the brands he owns and shares in large retail high street stores he is increasing all the time.

He was worth 750 million when he bought newcastle…he’s now worth 2.5 billion…mainly on the back of his free advertising and massive SD promotional strategy.

Money is his god and he won’t spend anything on getting a new manager.

Buy cheap sell high is his mantra…he won’t change it just because he needs a new manager

You see Pulis has already sussed the problem & Pardew (hate him or hate him) knew it too. Sissoko & Tiote good as sold & no money available.
Come on Ashley prove me wrong

pulis may well have been in contention because he would have cost nothing to bring to the club and that will be the golden rule as far as Ashley is concerned

do you’s honestly think MA will hire a manager that’s worse than Pardew?

get over man we all know money is his number one priority regardless if he likes us are not.

MA will hire a manager that will protect his investment not a manager that will make him lose money.

    Sparky55,
Your facts are slightly wrong Mike Ashley’s wealth in Nov 2013 was estimated at around £3.85 billion The current estimation is currently £4,4 billion but this is likely to be underestimated and could be as much as £5 billion just under 8 billion dollars

You know the same thing happened to me the other day, I was being lined up for food taster on Abramovich’s yacht, but I instructed my representatives to call off any interest in touring the world in luxury, dining on fine food and doing nowt for 11 months of the year. Just wasn’t me.

    Pfft.

What a great start to the recruitment process.

But looking on the bright side, we’ll be snubbed by better managers than Pulis! ,:)

all ashley and Carr do is invest in players only a very sh!te manager could take down…and Pardew nearly did it twice.

Lets face it lads…he wont hire a good manager because they wont come knowing how he operates.

Any old manager will do because the squad will always be good enough to keep themselves up irrespective of who is in charge.

No debt, no money to spend, no potential to improve in the future, a selling club (every good cheap young player you get will be sold on for a substantial profit), lack of ambition, hated by the fans .
Ashley is really over selling the post to potential candidates

And on Pulis thank god he ain’t coming, at stoke he was in control of transfers and look how that turned out, at Palace he had hardly any say in matters considering the board had players lined up to come to Palace already why do you think he walked out before the season started?

He’s already been bitten by relegation with his brinkmanship, I don’t think he’ll be the fool to play such a bluff hand twice. Ashley has a golden opportunity to turn around the perception of his tenure. Maybe he will surprise us with a good managerial appointment. I’m sure he’ll blow it though, but here we go holding my breath…

Did you know FDB arranged a strict budget to the chairman of Ajax?

5 million or less he demanded for any player, this would suit MA methods to the fullest

…that’s why having carver in charge will send icy chills down Mike’s spine, a string of 5 losses will mean Charnley waiting at the jobcentre for doors open to see if any Pl managers have become available.

I dont blame Pulis to be honest

I’ve always been on the fence with pardew. I dont overly admire the man but i think for an average manager who has managed an average club in toon (considering we were only promoted 4-5 years ago from championship) he’s done as expected.

I can’t beleive people think we will get de boer or any other self respecting manager (some people on chronicle website think we can even get klopp wtf!) who are at clubs unlike ours who’s fans are notourisly unrealistic and who are notorious for having no patience with managers.

We will end up with an underwhelming manager andnas usual fans will say ashley has no ambition, yet we deserve nothing more than an average manager considering our recent history. I hope i am proved wrong of course!i would like de boer personally but it aint happening!
