Can Newcastle Beat Leicester City Tomorrow – Poll

We didn’t get the win we would have liked yesterday but there’s a chance we can at least get to the fourth round of the FA Cup tomorrow ate Leicester City when John Carver will go up against former Newcastle United  coach Nigel Pearson.

We’ll also be without Steven Taylor tomorrow and presumably Cheick Tiote too – as he will be off to the African Cup of Nations.

why are people asking where’s the socks off to arsenal link?
    it’s all over the net.

pardew was never the problem. pardew knew socks will be gone and he left. ashley is the problem.

Said from the beginning that for Pardew to have walked away from us something drastic was happening and that equates to either players sales, no money to spend or Ashley selling up to take control of Rangers

Why would Ashley keep him thats his whole plan buy cheap and sell on. If he actually assembled a good side we could be top 4 now. Very easily

    REPOST

    Ronaldo

I said it yesterday and still think it may happen that a manager whom the fans have never considered could be appointed.

I’m basing this on the following:

    (1) Carr in his travels in Europe will have seen many managers during his scouting trips. He is probably the only person at the club with the knowledge, which could be quite extensive and detailed.
    (2) Given Carr’s achievements in scouting he will probably be listened to by Ashley. Charnley will probably concur as I doubt he has anything like the knowledge of the ‘market’.
    (3) As Carr has done most of his scouting in Europe the odds on getting a foreign manager are therefore stronger than a British manager.
    (4) Ashley wants to run a European management style (Head Coach, Director of Football etc) and therefore a foreign manager would likely be more familiar and more acceptable to this way of football management.
    (5) Many foreign Head Coaches would probably jump at the chance of managing in the Premiership; and be cheaper !
    (6) Given the less than enthusiastic reception Pardew received from the fans when he was appointed which never left him I would think that Ashley and Charnley imagine that it wouldn’t be repeated with the appointment of foreign Head Coach.

Of course I could be completely wrong and he appoints Kinnear !!!

Thought the club was always for sale if the right money was offered?

Club up for sale possibly? With no manager to pay off, and an almost blank squad to build on, surely somone fancies a blast?

    Jack

Quotes from the start of the season suggested that the club wouldn’t be sold until the end of next season.

Why would he sell, the club was turning a small profit before the massive increase in TV money, the wage bill is continually slashed so he must be raking in a fortune now. As I’ve said on here a hundred times, when he’s finished he’ll make what Hall and Shepherd took look like small change.

Where has this sale rumour come from again?

I did read in one paper that Pards was told 4 weeks ago that no money would be spent in the January window. Its since then that we stopped getting linked with any players.

I think it was the Independent or the Guardian though. The same one that was the first and only outlet to claim Colo was being lined up as Manager (even other outlets thought it was so ridiculous that they only reported that this magazine was reporting it)

We’d better start praying that carver is in some wsy up to the job, and gives us time to look abroad for a coach who will work under the regime. Otherwise i fear we will get an unemployed old brit. Any takers for Big Eck? I can hear the PR spin already….played for a big club and at international level, maximises resources, won a trophy at an unfancied club…help !!!!
