In what was little other than a complete shambles at Leicester City today when for the second game running we couldn’t beat a team in the bottom two of the Premier League, and we have been eliminated for the fourth time in five years in the FA Cup at the very first hurdle, and Newcastle seem manager-less and rudderless – and therefore we need the person responsible for this – namely owner Mike Ashley – to do something about this mess.
Mike Ashley – even he is glum and depressed
Never mind the fans
We would recommend that he sign top coach and pay the man a top wage and not take any cheap option – which he tends to do.
The financial statement that will be released next month will look great – highest ever revenues (£135M?) and highest ever profits (maybe as much as £40M?) and yet the club is in distress.
The financial results will be embarrassing because of the poor state of the current team we have – some of that money should be invested for new players – and in January.
Hopefully Mike Ashley will jet back from his vacation in Barbados and work very hard with Lee Charnley to get a top coach into the club – preferably next week.
The good news is that we have been linked with former Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel who seems a top coach and revolutionary in his training methods and match preparation – and he’s just 41 years old.
So we could pay some compensation to Mainz to free him of his contract, and get Tuchel to Newcastle.
Another top coach would also be good.
With Alan Pardew having left Newcastle this week – he couldn’t get out of the door quickly enough – the emphasis has quickly shifted to the owner – who is the real problem at the club.
Hopefully Mike will raise his standards and his ambitions for Newcastle United – and appoint a top coach and soon too.
We’re out of both cups and 10th in the league table – but on the positive side – we will be getting soem of our players back from injury in January and we could climb the league table – if we can get a good coach into the club soon.
And where’s that Geordie Billionaire who can buy the club off Mike Ashley?
Comments welcome.

Comment #1Looking at the team today, it is clear the cup is still not a priority. To be fair perhaps it should not be when you have no manager.
On the plus side, if we had of won that today it may have given carver some claim to the job permanently and that is just delaying the inevitable.
Crap day of course but to be honest there is a bigger fish to fry and that is premier league survival and a new progressive manager.

You’ll only be able to put the blame on Pardew for so long Jesper, so make the most of it won’t you.

Thanks for that. He sounds just the job.
Can it be just coincidence that Ashley’s most trusted confidante has been parachuted into Rangers while our most senior man is the former bellhop who is empowered to make precisely no decisions?

Comment #5I wonder if the head coach jobs advertised in the chronicle?
Wanted, a head coach, no experience required.
Must sign a zero hour contract.
2 days out per season, all expenses paid (fans and media call this a cup tie for some bizzare reason)
Must under no circumstances finish 5th or above, resulting in this will lead to instant dismissal.
Being a bare faced liar will also do you no harm at this company.
You will be provided with tatty tracksuits for all premier league games.
And last but not least when addressing me and my big fat money bags, you shall answer yes sir mr.ashley

You talked about all staff being promoted from within. All the people I named arrived at the club after Pardew joined as manager. Whether PArdew appointed them or not is a moot point. None of them were promoted from within.
Dawson replaced Donachie. An outside appointment.
Nobody replaced Kinnear. They still haven’t. Charnley has replaced Llambias. Stone, Beardsley, Hughton, Charnley are the only people promoted from within.

Our 2 best players this season don’t play and we lose to the bottom of the league in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

No worries. He played for Kinnear at the Crazy Gang, and worked with him when Kinnear was DoF, then manager at Luton.
I think Llambias is at Rangers cause Ashley trusts him, and can’t be seen to be overly involved. Llambias will do his work while Ashley can claim to be uninvolved. Here, it makes no odds if he makes all decisions.

“Our Toon,
I like to call it the Williamson effect. Despite him being awful, he was less awful for a season and won player of the year, despite the fact he was nowhere near our best player. Obertan has done better than expected and all of a sudden is a world beater. If he had any composure or final ball he would have had more assists and goals this season, but he is awful. Better than the previous years, so people think he is good.”
i myself don’t think he’s a world beater, all i can say about him is, “he’s the 2nd best winger we’ve got after arrons”.
part of the reason i think you’ve got lots saying he’s a world beater is because you’ve got lots of people saying this is a top 6 team.
they hated pardew playing CF and CM as wingers therefore we’ve got only obatan arrons and sammy left to choose, of those i would go with obatan and arrons as starters.
really but obatan is a an bottom half of the table winger but for us he’s the second best we’ve got and because of how important it is for teams to have pace, we’ve got very little choice really.

Comment #17Welcome to the new Newcastle. Same as the old.
I’m not a great fan of Pardew, but those people expecting us to get a progressive top level manager need to wake up. Ashley appointed Pardew, he was happy with Pardew, he didnt sack him after the Meyler debacle or the run of results earlier in the season when he would have been justified in doing.
Ashley was happy with Pardews calibre of management.
Let that sink in a second. Now ask yourself why he’d bother spending more money getting a higher calibre of manager in. He wont. This is the man who gave Joe Kinnear the managers job.
And even if he wanted to get in a top manager, we’ve already had the likes of Pulis and Bruce declare they’re not interested. When you’ve got such average managers ruling themselves out already who’s left to take the job?
Expect the next manager to be no better than Pardew calibre, nothing nore than average. I’m so certain of it I’ll put money on it. £25 to a charity of Ed’s choosing if we get a manager in who the majority of people on this site consider to be a good signing. Is anyone so certain that we’ll get a good manager in they’ll offer to take up the same bet?

Comment #18Went to the game today. Have to say it was the worst performance I have seen in a long time. An utter embarrassment. Tiote was awful along with rivere, dummett, Anita etc etc. basically no one showed up today. Luckily I live in Leicester but I feel for our beloved fans spending all that money to get here and to witness that trash.

”We’re out of both cups and 10th in the league table”
How is this a shambles ? The owner has just pocketed 3.5M, saved two weekly wages and we’re exactly where he wants us, all he needs now is for Arsenal to stop being such sticks in the mud and it will be a perfect season, stroll on May !

Comment #20ED, the financial statement will be an embarrassment to whom?
You also say Ashley needs to sort out this shambles, “what shambles?” he would say.
He his making money hand over fist at this club and at the same time annoying a lot of people who he has no respect for.
I think Ashley will think that his NUFC venture as been an outstanding success

Comment #26It does suggest that players we have are overrated. It also suggests that expecting a top 7-8 from pardew was unfair. It also suggests that our amazing chief scout may not be so great either. Pardew was dull but far from useless. Its amazind that some posters say ” we shud be ok to stay up with the points we have got” and then say “pardpoo” ( grow up ffs) was totally clueless and “no coach wud be better than pardew” . Average mgr or slightly worse. Dumb fans.

So if we don’t have wingers you change the way you set your team up to play. It is a damning indictment of Pardew’s tenure here that he never altered how we set up despite never having out and out wingers.

You keep talking about wingers but the most important thing for a winger is to find his team mates with crosses, Obertan doesn’t do that, I keep reading he’s the 2nd best winger we have….well we only have 2 wingers!! Sissoko did more damage on the RW than obertan has done and he’s an attacking midfielder not a winger.
For me both of you are a clear indication of having expectations managed. I agree obertan runs a lot but he has zero end product, an average player being hailed because he has pace!!

but no matter how you set up to play we still need players out wide.
Settting up a formation which is about5 attacking through the middle means you need a very strong phsical CF because the problem we’ll have with going through the middle is 2CM and 2CM infront and it’s going to be so much easier for players to become offside.
sissoko was poor, goofy is poor, Ba hated it, cisse was poor, cabbella is poor and no matter what formation you use we still need that width.
why would we hate HBA so much when without width, he’s the best we could ask for?

well if fans are more conserned about getting another manager rather than fact focusing on getting rid of the FCB, i might as well respect these sh1t players because the chances are we’ll never see the quality winger i want and anyone whol turns quality is 100% certain to get sold.
