Newcastle Reported In Approach For Milan Winger

This could be some of the good news Newcastle fans desperately need after the 1-0 defeat at Leicester City today – and reports in Italy are saying that Newcastle have made an approach for 20 year-old Milan winger M’Baye Niang.

Mbaye Niang 12

M’Baye Niang – Milan’s 20 year-old winger

The 20 year-old winger was on loan for the second half of last season at Montpellier,  and he scored 5 goals in 22 games for the French club, but he is finding it difficult to break into the first team in Italy and could be loaned out to get some playing time – but since his contract is up next June Milan could also be willing to sell him this month..

Newcastle have been interested in the 6’1″ winger for some time now and  he ‘s the right age for Newcastle to sign a player who has huge potential.

M’Baye has played for the French U16, U17 and U21 sides,  and it appears that Milan would be willing to sell their youngster – and the news is that Newcastle have made an approach.

Niang started his career at Caen back in 2007, and joined Milan in the summer of 2012 on a three year contract, with Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham being three of the other English clubs interested in the winger.

With the winger’s three year contract coming to end at the end of next June, Newcastle will also likely be able to get the the French U21 International at a knockdown price – which is what owner Mike Ashley (always) likes to do.

Newcastle were first linked with Niang back in the summer of 2102 when he was only 17 – and it was thought at that time to be a fight principally between Arsenal and Newcastle as to where the lad would end up – but he signed for Milan.

Niang has been described in France as “a phenomenon” and “a striker out of the ordinary” and he made his professional debut at the young age of 16 in April 2011, in a league match for Caen against Toulouse.

M’Baye only turned 20 on 19th December.

What do you think?

credit to carver though. he says things which pardew will never say.

if it was pardew he would blame everything else and not admit it was embarassing.

credits there for carver. but he like pardew should leave our club for someone with fresh and new ideas.

we have grown so stale as a club. we are almost garbage and relegation football material. only sugar coat is we are mid table in the league.

but our football is worse in the entire division.

We like to get those cup competitions out of the way quickly and painlessly (except for the supporters of course). What’s the next shambolic move Mike? We can hardly wait.

a good article on Niang. i just don’t think he’ll make it here. but heck, we need a proper manager in first. u can bring all the exciting player in, but if we are served up managers like chris coleman or warnock god knows what will happen.

Apart from that, we did well today, considering. Team bus didn’t set on fire, didn’t run out of crisps and pop on the way back. Not very rainy and the traffic could have been worse.

The trouble with FBs is that leave an already awful pair of CB even more vunerable.

the other problem for FB is they in a league which is filled with pace and power, european teams can cope with this but they don’t have the power and speed of our league.

last season we saw cisse constantly being offside, that was a season we were constantly passing the ball to him through the middle.

During the first few games of our 6 game winning run, pardew had adjusted tactics slightly, he played with 2 out and out wingers in obertan, aarons and ameobi and Sissoko driving through the middle with colback and abeid the midfield partnership. Injuries came along and he couldn’t play them again, although he stuck with the counter attacking idea which didn’t work as we didn’t have the players fit and available.

It has to be a foreign coach or else it will be a desperate brit choice who will grab the job and wont care about ashleys control. Crazy to say but at this rate we will be thanking pardew for his 27 points. This group of players lacks backbone and leadership when things go wrong and they are already demonstrating it again. Pardew was average or probably a bit worse but useless managers dont get 5th over the course of an english season. Having said that we will always owe swansea fans a pint for beating wigan.

Next season will see us in the top 4 🙂

    Munster,
Players were set up to provide width but because they weren’t wingers it didn’t work as width, or as a narrow side filled with movement.

    toonking,
It shouldn’t leave the centre backs any further exposed if it is worked on in training. It is where Anita would fit well in that he has the intelligence to cover an attacking full back. I’m not saying Anita should start, but work on it in training with other players and that allows full backs to attack. Full backs have become one of the most important positions in modern football.

Anyway, I’m off for the night. All the best gents. Chelsea in a week, let’s see what happens between now and then.

Now Ashleys business practices are so transparent, what manager in his right mind is going to accept an incentive based contract when you are so regularly hamstrung.
