Newcastle Now Linked With Real Madrid Man

Newcastle are being linked with all kinds of possible new head coaches and now we are linked with Real Madrid assistant manager Paul Clement, with the Mirror reporting tonight that the 42 year-old, who was also mentioned when Crystal Palace were looking for a new manager just over a week ago, may now be top of the list at Newcastle.

paul clement

Paul Clement – Real Madrid number two

The Tyneside club is moving quickly to replace Alan Pardew, and it’s now unlikely that John Carver will get the job after Newcastle’s poor performances in the last two games when Carver has been caretaker manager.

And in the seven games John was the touchline manager last year, after Alan Pardew was banned,  John won only one game and lost the other six.

42 year-old Clement was born in Wandsworth, and has also previously worked for Ancelotti at Chelsea and PSG, and he has also held coaching positions at Fulham, Blackburn Rovers and the Ireland U-21 team.

Clement is not unlike former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho, because he has never played top-class football, but that has not stopped him becoming Ancelotti’s right hand man at Real Madrid.

Paul may be top of a list that is also said to contain former Lyon coach Remi Garde, Dutch coach Dick Advocaat, former Mainz manager Thomas Tuchel and St. Etienne coach Christophe Galtier.

We are hoping that Newcastle will soon make a good appointment, before the number of candidates talked about in the press reaches 100, and certainly before the game at Chelsea on Saturday.

Newcastle seem to prefer Thomas Tuchel from the list of nine candidates in our poll.

Incredible. It’s taken a week for the tentacles of lazy journalism to roll and slither out this far. I could have done the same job, in a single morning, in bed, on my mini iPad, and still I have an insatiable appetite for it. Fuggen enablers.

I think Gouffran and Willo are premiership standard, just bottom third, along with Rivierre on current form, and Dummet and possibly Cabella, but I have faith in him. I don’t think Armstrong is premiership standard, at all, although he’s only a Bairn, and Alnwick certainly not.

It was ‘Who wants Carver as manager?’ NOT ‘Who can manage a carvery?’

    Dulcinera

I do remember that night, the lads were talking to Expatmag about the hostage situation in the cafe, the you jump in with some extremely vile and unwarranted comments, that truly turned my stomach along with many others.

Back to football, I think Ashley will wait till at least the end of the transfer window before announcing our new head coach, that way he will not have to bring anyone in.

If all this fcuking tripe isn’t supporting terrorist’s and saying “good on em” then what the fcuk is? Like I said your a fcuking liar trying to play the victim. Now fcuking defend that.

    Twatinera’s words that night.

I’m afraid since aussie put themselve in the position of backing a fascist government in the U.S.A they are reaping their rewards in attacks

If it is ISIS carrying out this supposed attack, good luck is what i’d say. 11 years of Aussie support for the murdering, fascist, totalitarian, socialist scumbags of the U.S.A then fair game. Half a million or more Iraqi fatalies or 10 aussies? what deserves more sympathy?

I have no problems with you in sport terms

But yor views on the politcial spectrum are obviously weak at beast

Comparing 10 aussie lives to the inhumane sufferine of iraqis over 11 yearss snce 2003 is laughable. You have no idea on politics. I’d stick to football if were you!

You think because you read in the papers everyday that ISIS hve beheaded a briitish nationilist, they they are sumhow the “bad guys” due to propaganda media reports?

I think context needs to be attained, If a country alligns themselves with a dictorial country such as the USA and then attacks a 3rd world country such as iraq, Syria etc…It should take full responsibiltiy for reciprocal attakcs on home soil. 500, 000 islamist deaths or 10 Aussies? c’mon

Honestly, i loved it when an SAS was tortured and executed personally. Scumbags

My people have been murdering tyrannical british scum for years now, we see through your country, i support freedom fighting countries in the middles east from the scumbag queens empire

It may or may not be good for us, on the one hand he could cut his losses with Rangers and just drop them, on the other, if they pi$$ him off, he could sell us and take over Rangers to show them how vindictive he can be. I’m hoping for the latter.

Possibly mate but there’s a new power player at rangers. Robert sarver who owns the phoenix sun’s basketball team in the US. He got diverted to the three bears and king’s investment by the board member for laxey partners Robert chritner after he was made to step down by fatty. This sarver had been in discussions with chritner before he stepped down and then obviously the people who he represented on the board “laxey partners” sold their stake. They all want fatty out. I’d be glad that somebody stood up to the bully but sad because there’s less chance of him selling us if it all goes tits up, up there.

If im honest I can kind of see why Dulcinera thinks this way, not sure if thats because I obviously dont live in England. However, that doesnt mean I think hes right. I really dont see how anyone can wish ‘good luck’ on a terrorist attack just because there nation ‘deserved’ it. Thats just wrong. Revenge or justice I dont care these innocent people dont deserve to die in any countries. Why support these groups? Thats just going to result in more deaths. Dulc, I hope you realise that you was actively hoping that there terrorist attack was successful, that is just inhumane and I can totally see why most of this blog is acting this way.

So really Ashley will be forced into a decision sooner rather than later, I think his plan “was” to sell us in 2016, but maybe he will have to bring things forward if he is to keep control at Rangers.

I really feel for the Rangers fans, and more so if Ashley gets his hands on them, but that would not stop me celebrating if he sold us, sooner the better I say.

Clement would be a great appointment. To be honest, most mentioned would be an immense improvement on the dross provided over the majority of the last 4 years.

On the duncenera ravings, a lovely professional lady met her pregnant friend for a relaxing pre work coffee leaving behind three beautiful children and a doting husband just prior to christmas. 16 hours later, she is murdered by a raving lunatic and her 3 young children are now motherless. How can any sound minded decent person justify this sort of malicious unprovoked violence on an innocent human being?

Final word on the matter and my apologies to fellow blog members for bringing this up.

Crawl back in your hole Dulcinera and spout your rhetoric elsewhere. Noone is interested in your insane viewpoints here.

You’ll both appreciate that arguing politics and religion on a sports blog is much akin to arguing those topics in a pub.

Doing so brings out heated emotions and as evidenced here, anger.

Ease off guys, take it easy, arguing such emotive subjects spoils things for others.

I actually thought he would be a reasonable appointment some months ago when it was first mentioned he had been seen in Ashley’s presence having lunch somewhere.

He would be a hell of a sight better than Pardew, even with his little mystic foibles.

If there is an Investor trying to buy Rangers outright then MA holds three cards that will make him a tidy profit; shares, loan repayment and merchandise.

Soundoid – We might be finding out shortly……my guess would be its not a director of football, but a committee of football……e.g. Charnley, Carr and Ashley……each with a specific role. My guess is that JK did very little and that most of it was done by Charnley and Carr anyway. I would envisage Charnley doing the paperwork/negotiations, Carr has the football knowledge/scouting and MA provides the money and has the final say.

Your probably right about it being a committee.
Carr = Names Charnley = Cost Ashley = Decides
    Yes /No
If Clements is really on the list & not just newspaper talk it got to good news. At least it would show a bit more intent in trying to improve the situation.

    What is Pauyl Clement’s background/experience?

To me, being Asst. Manager at Real Madrid does not, on its own, provide a good background.

Asst. manager is a far cry from Manager – witness JC.

Dealing with the world class players at RM does not help him a great deal helping with our lot. Completely different style required.

When I say “Manager” – Yes, I mean Head Coach.
