Continental Coaches Newcastle Fans Like The Most

We’ve been running out poll for about a week now, on which continental coaches fans would like to see Newcastle’s head coach, and we are close to having 5,000 readers voted.

frank de boer ajax

Frank de Boer – first choice!

It still looks like Frank de Boer is the rather overwhelming favorite, but over the last few days there have been a lot of votes come in for Remi Garde.

Third in the voting is former Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel, and with recent events ,Newcastle may even wait until the summer to appoint the new head coach, so all of these candidates are still in with a chance.

There’s one vote per reader – so if you haven’t yet voted – now’s your chance.

Who Do You Want As New Newcastle Head Coach?

  • Frank de Boer (58%, 6,784 Votes)
  • Remi Garde (21%, 2,465 Votes)
  • Thomas Tuchel (9%, 1,025 Votes)
  • Temuri Ketsbaia (4%, 477 Votes)
  • Paul Clement (3%, 321 Votes)
  • Christophe Galtier (3%, 311 Votes)
  • Aitor Karanka (2%, 290 Votes)

Total Voters: 11,673

Might as well be Aterix th Gaul for all the difference it will make to FCB!!

We have waited 3 years for a CB, 18 months for a playmaker – why on earth would he need a manager this year??

Since the bloke has basically said he has no ambitions to manage us, i voted for Garde. I think he has the correct philosophy to suit the setup.

    Ed,

Could I request that you un-moderate Jeff from Benwell?
I imagine he is being moderated because his posts pop up ages after he seems to have posted them.
His contributions these days don’t seem to warrant his being unable to join the debate in a timely fashion. I like reading them.
He can certainly have my place.

I am organising a charity event in aid of St Oswalds Hospice. My best friend has been fighting two terminal brain tumours and he has been in and out of the hospice. They have been tremendous.
Anyway I have managed to get two Toon shirts courtesy of Mr Barry Sweeney . They are signed by the current team and are currently at a picture framers now.
The charity night is on 24th Jan and it wont hold many ( I was thinking of an auction) and we dont have the time to plan anything ‘large scale’
Whats the best way of getting the highest price for a signed framed shirt.
Do I contact editors of Blogs, ebay, gumtree, sealed bids….
I am not greedy and all money is going to St Oswalds.

    Any genuine suggestions.

Ed apologies for using your blog for non footy. But it is for charity.

I was thinking similar. Just thought I would mention it on here in case anyone else from the blog had done something similar.
I looked last night and there were no current squad signed shirts on ebay.
    Cheers fella

His battle has been unbelievable and we are meeting the Chronicle on Wednesday. They want to do his story which in itself will highlight St Oswslds.

The reporter has offered to print the Just Giving page, I might get her to put my details on re bids for one of the shirts.

He has battled two major operations and refuses to give in. Unbelievable bloke.

    Cheers again

    Bambams,

Could I suggest you set up a Facebook page devoted specifically to this and post a photo of both your friend and the shirts and the St Oswald’s logo, and invite all your friends to like it and repost. Include the story of your friend to give it human interest. Do the same on Twitter. Update every day, even if you are repeating yourself and beg for retweets. Join those local twitter networks that might favourite you. Ask them to. Including the Oswald’s one. Contact the papers and local radio, and sent them good jpegs. Remember the all have online sites they need to fill. You can arrange an online auction to supplement your charity night. Ask Ed to feature the pic and some bio. And Mag etc. But remember most people on football sites are there for the football craic, so don’t pin all your hopes on it.

The new manager will be someone out of left field or Carver. pardew when appointed was 33/1 but had started out 150/1. Ashley doesn’t seem to do favourites.
The only thing i believe is that our next manager will be someone few people have mentioned.
LGFAUD21 mentioned hed heard we’d spoken to bert van mawijk. Could imagine this appointment hes a dutch pardew! Other names I could forsee are Dick Advocaat, Ralph Rangenick and frank Rijkaard.
Best name ive seen so far is Lucien Favre. We have no strikers and too many #10’s. He hates strikers and often playd 2/3 #10’s. Match made in heaven

Fella that is spot on. We have already done the fb part and we have basically told David’s story from day one. Loads of pictures when we have managed to get him out with what we have called ourselves ‘Heb’s Posse’.

It has been hard for David and the reporter I have known for nearly twenty years, she has followed his story on our fb and wanted to print it.

He is only 54 and has a fantastic family. We managed to do something very important to him in June last year when I helped him to walk his daughter down the aisle !

Look I will bugger off now and let the footy banter return.

    Really appreciate the advice fellas.

Get Remi Garde in ASAP then he can persuade sissoko to stay and then try and get the best out of our players that have been under performing like some of our french players.

Lee Ryder has just said we’re chasing Bruno Labaddia.
    Absolute horrible news if true.
His teams are known for unexplainable team selection, lack of balace, lack of flair and lack of creativity. Hes known for his caution and acts like hes up against munich every week even when playing small teams at home.
By the end of his stuttgart reign it is said that the players finally believed stuttgart would be lucky to draw at home to augsburg through Labaddia.
Horrible horrible choice, i can’t believe nufc would glance at him.

    Terry,

Remember you are selling your friend’s struggle for life, more than the shirts. Give him a face. Traditional telly won’t do it, as they get dozens of these a day, but there are new local TV stations who might. Two minutes on the wireless in the morning tops everything. Good luck. Shy bairns get nowt, so PUSH!

The most I can say is that, like Jayphoto, I reckon the new man will come from left field. It seems pointless speculating. It’s about as much use as guessing who we’ll be drawn against in the third round of the FA Cup.

Also on labaddia – he loves a 4-2-3-1. Falls out and bans journslists. Refuses to quit even after 7 game losing streaks when every fan calls for his head.
    He sounds uncannily familiar…..
