It’s Brilliant Tactics By The Newcastle Board

We had hinted that if Newcastle didn’t have a head coach at the club this month, then nobody would be bugging Mike Ashley to buy new players in this January transfer window.

gary linekar

Gary Linekar – has a sense of humor

And BBC’s Gary Linekar has brilliantly summed that up in a tweet he sent out this morning – this is what the former England International striker sent out on his Twitter account:

“Brilliant tactics from Newcastle board to delay appointing their new manager so they don’t have to buy any players in the transfer window.”

In theory the head coach is one of a group of four at Newcastle, who make the decisions on who to bring into the club with Mike Ashley Lee Charnley and Chief Scout Graham Carr being the other three along with the head coach.

But we know that Mike Ashley doesn’t like to spend money when  he doesn’t have to – and we are not in any real relegation trouble at the moment.

And that’s why we think Newcastle will not sign a striker or a center-back this January.

Yes – it’s brilliant tactics to delay appointing a new head coach as long as we can in January – we agree with Gary. 😀

And we never said Mike Ashley wasn’t a very bright guy.

It’s a brilliant tweet by Linekar, more so because it is true. The window will close Carve-up will be in charge and will will be battling for some scrappy points just to say up.

Maybe they see Newcastle as Ashley now, god help us in the second half of this season, because Ashley certainly won’t.

if Ashley sells up next season, i think in this window, if big offers come in, then players like sissoko, tiote and maybe Perez will go.

it’s Lineker being mischievous and winding up the cloth capped ignorami.

Well I’ve read through the posts tonight and pored over the debates, old and new. And my conclusion is I enjoyed the reminiscence over Seaton carew. Perhaps we can do a tour of Bedlington some other day, perhaps to while away a long cold dark winter evening.

Can’t see Ashley allowing anyone to leave under the circumstances, other than possibly sanctioning the Niang Santon deal, if indeed the young Frenchman can play through the middle. Which I’m afraid does not look a great deal for us, but I doubt we can hold on to Santon long term anyway.

Santon? Really don’t care. No impact whatsoever if he leaves. It would be madness for Perez to be sold now, too cheap and will undoubtedly accrue value over the remaining months of this season.

    OP

If Lineker mentioned MA in his tweet he’d open himself for slander or civil action….why risk being taken to court when you can say the city which we all know means MA

I would be pretty sure that if no Head Coach is appointed and Sissoko is sold this window, Ashley will hang around the summer just long enough to pocket the sky money then sell up and piss off over the border.

However, if he treats the jocks the way he has treated us, I seriously fear for his and his cohorts lives. They are a lot less “understanding” up there.

Santon and Collocini are similar calibre players to me, separated by ten years experience. I think Santon will likely return to Serie A and regain his place for the Azzuri. Probably a more suitable league for the player, his defensive frailties and lack of a killer final cross are exposed in the hurly burly of the EPL, but he has class written all over him and I think will blossom in a less frenetic environment after the experience he’s gained for us. Comfortably our best left back in my opinion.

I wonder how long before he tries to ban the bbc, they’ve mocked him for rigging team selections and now this!! Fat man must be seething but there’s fcuk all he can do

What’s even worse is he sums up the plight perfectly whilst thread over tread all we read is Remie Garde this and that, when he becomes or if he becomes manager!! An outsider can see what’s happening to our once great club but the fans don’t give a $hit at least some dont!!

Hello hello hello… itk’s on twatfest starting to germinate their own rumours, some rectal shooting pain reckons that two ‘top players’ will leave if the coach situation ain’t cleared up soon. I could have made that one up. But, if you chuck a dead dog into the leek trench, somethings bound to grow out of it.

People are saying this tweet is spot on. But its not. Pardew was never a manager. He was a head coach referred to as a manager.

Who ever is next, is a head coach and has no input to what players are signed. We could have signed a new head couch 2 seconds after pardew or 2 years and it wouldn’t affect player recruitment.

I agree we will sign no one and probably sell. but its not tactics its just business as usual and therefore Gary has as much regional football knowledge as trout. Making sweeping accusations to keep his shitty BBC career alive

Santon is probably better suited to RB then he is to LB, we’ve very rarely utilised him in that position. Normally LBs who are right footed aren’t asked to cross the ball as much as he has done for us, Santon will go on go have a very very good career away from us which sums us up as a club!!

By far the best LB at the club

I would sell Santon in a flash. His defensive capabilities leave a lot to be desired and he is regularly screwed by even the most average of wingers(check out his performance against Adam Johnson in the two 0-3s).

He might look good on the ball but he rarely delivers. Show pony springs to mind.

The speculation over a new manager is delaying signing players….seriously if you can’t see that then it’s just bonkers bud.

All the speculation of a new manager is all nufc fans are talking about, or who’s going to leave, you won’t find many talking about new signings. This manager malarkey is doing enough to keep the masses distracted to ensure he does Fsuk all in the window.

Er sorry guys respect your opinion but Santon ain’t all that. This ‘PL didn’t suit him’ stuff doesn’t wash, same with Mbiwa. They’re footy players not freakin’ fig trees. it’s the same game, don’t give me this different climate claptrap, and if they can’t adapt to a style of play, they aren’t good. Period. If the PL was such a proving ground, the FA would be employing someone to polish the world cup trophy every week.

Might be the start of a bit of public ill feeling towards Tubbs.

To me it depends who Santon plays under, under mourinho he was class albeit in a different league, came here to a side that were and are incredibly shite at defending, he’s suited to a team that can retain possession, dominate the ball.

Haidara for all the hype is pretty pi$$ poor and dummett ain’t a LB!!

    Our toon,

vaild point, if we had a owner who would actually spend even though we’re in a league position he is most likely happy with.

We have no intention of bringing anyone in, unless there is a bargain going and generally the subject of a bargain isn’t reliant on club and management stability, they want a well paid contract

    Scratching the itch?

Palace, Norwich, Brighton, Charlton, WBA have all appointed a new manager within 1 week of the previous incumbent leaving. It’s taken us almost 3 weeks and we haven’t even begun FORMAL interviews.

Yeah, I think Santon is a right back, played on the left for tactical purposes that were never really suited to this league. He can deliver that final ball with his right and does get forward very well. He’s not hard in the tackle, I understand some want that, even so, I think well worth his place for us. I don’t think Janmaat is any better defensively, to be honest.

Spot on mate, Since the relegation threatened European season we had….fat man had to buy players to ensure we didn’t go down.

Since then he’s bought in JFK and his black book of contacts, smokescreen for no signings and some to take the flack, once cabaye is sold….Most blamed JFK because how could MA sell his favourite player but in reality the guy served his purpose, we released a statement to say 4 players have been identified and we got LDJ on loan.

Fast forward to now and this is the latest trick being used to ensure money isn’t spent on transfers!!! Smokescreen every window

MA sanctions deal for 4 players = buy half price season tickets or renew existing ones please

This summer we had bs like 60m war chest….smokescreen! At least that’s how I say it

we all know what will happen to tubbs if he pulls these stunts up north, he wouldnt last , not just at the club , he just wouldnt last. why why why does he get away with it here????however , i believe he is planning to make rangers big again.
Up north in scotland there is no advertising incentives big enough for SD . I think he wants them CL so that SD will be associated with Champions of Europe, its certainly cheaper to do it in Scotland.
