French Report Of Specific Problem With Remi Garde Appointment

One of our readers has pointed out that the French Football site Foot-7 is reporting today that the problem with Remi Garde joining Newcastle United as their new head coach, is that Remi wants to bring in his own coaching team.

Remi Garde +Tottenham+Hotspur+FC+v+Olympique+XfTQg3QzBUIl

Remi Garde – wants his own coaching staff at Newcastle

It’s been reported before that Remi would want to bring in his own coaches that he had when he was the head coach at Lyon for three years from 2011 – but it seems that Newcastle want to keep their current coaching staff of John Carver, Steve Stone and Andy Woodman in place.

This could well be a legitimate sticking point with the Garde appointment, and we had wondered whether Newcastle would want to keep John Carver and others at the club.

Certainly it would help in the transition over to Remi Garde as head coach having John and his team in place.

That would also explain why another rumor could be true – that Remi wants to start in the summer and not immediately.

Some of his former coaching staff are still at Lyon under new manager Hubert Fournier, and since Lyon are currently top of the French League, there’s just no way those coaches would be allowed to leave before the summer.

That could certainly be a good reason why Garde does not want to start at Newcastle until the summer.

While we don’t know if this report is accurate, it does seem to make sense, and maybe Newcastle should have thought more about this before they let Alan Pardew leave the club in early January?

At one NORMAL club, this should not be a problem. But as we know…

if he has nothing to do with bringing in players only coaching them, surely it makes more sense to let him bring the people he trusts in.

after all , it’s his neck on the block

It is not the recruitment of his desired staff per say, it is the cost of off loading the three wise monkeys and the compensation to Lyon. Cheapskate penny pinching holding us back again.

If the coach thing in an issue then the club needs to decide what’s more important – getting the right head coach or keeping what was left from when was manager.

…I don’t see the problem with the transition if we keep the coaches at U21 level and academy.

    So that’s…

In pole position to be the new manager of Newcastle, Remi Garde could ultimately no longer occupy the bench deserted by Alan Pardew now to Christal Palace .

Sole candidate for this position, Rémi Garde seems warmer to take the reins of the Magpies after the departure of Alan Pardew to Christal Palace . According to the English press that Footransferts quotes , negotiations between the two parties achopperaient on a detail that would take the former Lyon coach at heart. This would require to come with his own team on the bench Magpies . A choice that would conflict with the refusal of the leaders of the English club obviously determined to keep the current elements of the Newcastle bench. Faced with this position of the club makers, the French coach should , like his compatriot Christophe Galtier St. Stephen , turn away from an experience in the Premier League on the bench Magpies .

    catchy

avoiding the drop zone is all ashley wants, “fcuk the CL, fcuk decent football, Money, money, money and SD advertising SD advertising.

so why would ashley want to pay compensation to get rid of these current coaches when they are all doing a fine job in his eyes?

now we can see that even if a manager doesn’t care much about having lack of speech on transfers, we’ll still be unlikely to attract him.

managers- want to have a say in transfes
head-coaches want to be allowed to bring in there own coaches.

in ashleys world you do as you are told and have minimum say is what comes into the club, sort of like SD employers have the mninmum wage if that.

Even the French media think he’d be mad to join a club that won’t allow him to bring in his own coaching team…

Curbing outlay on players isn’t new to NUFC fans but refusing a backroom staff to their manager of choice is insane. He should walk away – the club is poisonous

This does sound like a legitimate issue, but I hope something is resolved soon – one way or the other. To be fair though, I don’t think the “Sack Pardew” brigade can now be overly critical of the way his departure has been handled. They got what they asked for, and I can only imagine what would’ve been said if we had refused to let him leave just because we weren’t ready with a replacement! I was never a Pardew fan , and I would rather they took a little longer in signing up his replacement to ensure that we get it right this time. Having said all that, I’m as frustrated as the next guy with the apparent lack of ambition and I want to see us get back to our winning ways.

What is the point of bringing in a “Top Coach” to improve the team and the junior sides – and then forcing him to retain the dinosaurs that are the root of the problem in the 1st place??

No quotes so I would suggest this is more guessing from the media.

I would say from his comment of “no comment” at the City game on Sunday that he is likely in the running so I reckon media has guessed it from there.

Who knows what the sticking point is if there is one, it might just be normal negotiations.

I reckon it’s just as likely to be about payoff amount as it is backroom staff. I don’t think it would cost much to sack JC and Stoney or, even put them someone else at the club.

How could Charnley & co. Possibly think that Garde would be fine with not bringing in his own staff? Like what the hell are they even playing at here? This should have been a key factor in any ‘due diligence’ undertaken and should have been sorted either way at the very beginning of any negotiation.

Surely even they aren’t naive nor ignorant enough to assume that Garde would happily walk into a back room with 3 jokers who he doesn’t know and haven’t offered anything to suggest they’re invaluable to this club at any point in the time they’ve been here. This is a huge career choice for someone like Garde and they expect him to take anything on without being 100 percent sure or comfortable.

I am at the end of my tether regarding everything NUFC. There has to be some sort of intervention somehow.

Well, I’m willing to take charge of the intervention GPLF @27. I usually start with some light fonging. Then to get his attention I bring a honey badger into the room and let it have a sniff or two. Then a few words of persuasion such as “get the f**k out of our club Ashhole!” And so on.

surely you should know by now that we have got coaches which are already good enough for suvival?

i think the media are doing their typical wind up stories now because in the eyes of newcastle fans any story is a must read. We are just so desperate for a quality manager, quality players and a new owner.

I get the impression the reason why its taking so long is they have not found the manager who will accept the job with….
    1. Current coaching set up remains
    2. Sell any player at anytime
    3. Do not attempt progression in cups
    4. No say in transfer incomings
    5. Basic wage salary
    6. Never question Big Mike

You would think managers would be falling over themselves to sign !

Fonging! That’s a good word. Remember a movie a while ago that sort of made that phrasing popular again…It was something like this:

“…betray us, and I will fong you, until your insides are out, your outsides are in, your entrails will become your extrails I will w-rip… all the p… ugh. Pain, lots of pain.”

Why can’t we get Garde now and if needs be bring his coaching staff in summer.Maybe JC will get the hump and resign with him not getting coach’s job.
This way Garde can see how we need to improve and if the staff here are any good for his style.
