One of our readers has pointed out that the French Football site Foot-7 is reporting today that the problem with Remi Garde joining Newcastle United as their new head coach, is that Remi wants to bring in his own coaching team.
Remi Garde – wants his own coaching staff at Newcastle
It’s been reported before that Remi would want to bring in his own coaches that he had when he was the head coach at Lyon for three years from 2011 – but it seems that Newcastle want to keep their current coaching staff of John Carver, Steve Stone and Andy Woodman in place.
This could well be a legitimate sticking point with the Garde appointment, and we had wondered whether Newcastle would want to keep John Carver and others at the club.
Certainly it would help in the transition over to Remi Garde as head coach having John and his team in place.
That would also explain why another rumor could be true – that Remi wants to start in the summer and not immediately.
Some of his former coaching staff are still at Lyon under new manager Hubert Fournier, and since Lyon are currently top of the French League, there’s just no way those coaches would be allowed to leave before the summer.
That could certainly be a good reason why Garde does not want to start at Newcastle until the summer.
While we don’t know if this report is accurate, it does seem to make sense, and maybe Newcastle should have thought more about this before they let Alan Pardew leave the club in early January?

Comment #44If fking hate Mike Ashley and his penny pinching at every single thing related to Newcastle! He keeps gambling on the team’s and fan’s morale and with the future of the club with decisions like these and the lack of investment, risking relegation all over again just for the sake of not spending a couple of million to save the club.
What’s a couple of million worth to a multi Billionaire FFS!!!???
SPEND SOMETHING YOU FAT COCKNEY CU*T YOU’RE RUINING EVERYTHING GOOD ABOUT THIS CLUB. FCUK OFF AND LEAVE ALREADY YOU TIGHT ARSED TWAT!!!!!!!!!!

Why should I, or anyone know that by now? All I’ve seen under these coaches is 3 losses and a draw (not to mention when Pardew was banned last season) with confidence draining at an alarming rate and no real plan or direction involved at all.
No doubt the media cause a lot of Increased problems but the problems clearly stem from the operation of NUFC.
We’ve seen it time and time again with players, messing around, not doing the basic prerequisite checks to see if they’re viable etc etc.
I honestly believe the guys at the top just simply cannot fathom that normal clubs and footballing people don’t operate like NUFC is trying to. It’s all bottom line costs and seems to fail to take into account any intangible and emotive issues when doing any decision making.

Comment #50@46, to be honest, we played alright against Chelsea and despite playing badly against Southampton, were a bit unlucky.
Burnley was a tactical FU for me, we were much the better side in the first half but then resorted to hoofball in the second.
I personally, will make my decision after Hull as to whether I think relegation is likely assuming no coach comes in.

Comment #51Any manager who signs for the Toon is a puppet. That is a given. Any person who agrees to manager here has lost my respect immediately. Nothing will change until the fat controller has gone. What can the fans be thinking who turn up week after week? Are they thinking? Do they realize that they are perpetuating the Ashley era?

Comment #56this club is an issue from top to bottom everyone including the FANS have made this club a laughing stock to the rest of the world.
1 fans over rate our current players, in other words they supporting the regime saying ” the player has been pardewed and with a top coach we’ll be top 6″.
2. the only players, i think really give support to this club are those who love the club ie saylor, colback. the rest are playing for themselves. In there eyes “who gives a sh1t how good the team is and where we finish, I (the player) have done enough now to get myself a chance of moving towards a CL team and get the big wages.
3. managers are acting like cowards because they know a job as PL manager will be hard for them to recieve, so why risk the sack when they can play a simple game and be assured of suvival in the league most years.
4 worst of all the fcuken recent owners as they’ve caused us to get this debt, if they were more careful with transfers and didn’t steal money away, then we would not have had this chaotic owner we currently have.
perhaps now SJH or FFS have learned how to make money without stealing too much. The say they geordies, why don’t they come back and save this club from our horid owner, they can have a simular transfer policy to ashley’s only they keep on building the team. If they can’t then shut the fcuk up especially FFS

Comment #60I think we all know MA knows how to run a business to make a profit, and we also know that the spirit and passion and feeling has been totally taken out of SJP, it is all again to much, every time this Circus happens, i have stuck up many times over the years for MA hands up on that one, but it gets to the point were everyone is completely worn out including myself, finances are sound for MA but that does us no favors.
We need everyone singing from the same teamsheet, wouldnt that be lovely, will that happen any time soon? i would love that for everyone, i really would.
Trouble is Sky continue to pour masses in to the prem, MA probably wont leave a goldmine, in fact im pretty sure he wont. sorry for that everyone.

we are very unlikely to go down, just like we were last season when that loosing streak happened.
europe is a no no because ashley doesn’t want to spend money, something you need to do if you are to suvive whilst playing european football, plus what good is european football to mike ashley? They DON’T allow SD advertising, this league has got 6 clubs already competing for CL, therefore he MUST spend lots of money for any hope of competing in it and remaining part of it, most of all he CAN’T sell players and not replace them.
ok southampton did sell lots this year and are challenging for top 4 but as catchy said a few posts back the reason we were 5th place is because liverpool and chelsea were having back seasons, perhaps it’s because united and liverpool are having off seasons this year maybe that’s why southampton are 3rd.
The overall point is building a team cost MONEY, cashley DOESN’T want to spend money.
suvival DOESN’T cost money, just what cashley WANTS

Carver, Stone and Woodman go to Lyon to improve their language skills (English) and learn French at the same time.
We get 3 expert coaches from Lyon on less money so win win all round.
Easy solution.

Why don’t the select few exchange phone numbers and text each other so everyone else hasn’t got to read the same sh:t every bloody day
That’s better

Comment #65In the relegation year we appointed unproven manager at nearly this time of the season-Alan Shearer.
We are doing the same now with this manager with ZERO experience in the PL just like Alan Shearer was at that time.Maybe relegation would not be one year journey again.

when i looked at the fixture list last saturday, it tells me we are going to be prevent from going down thanks to worst fixtures and bad play.
QPR are almost certain to go down as most their home games are against CL contenders.
Hull are just playing rubbish at the minute, all we need to do is beat them next week and we’ll be distanced far enough away.
leister, well they’ve got the FA cup to contend with and again they not the easiest of fixtures, out of them all i think leister are the most likely to suvive of the 3 in the drop zone and even then we’ve got a few others below us.
saying that i’m not really that bothered if we do go down because championship stops what ashley likes the most, it stops PL money and he doesn’t get great SD coverage.

This season we are never far away from the relegation zone. That is the truth. We think that we are enough up on the table because we had 6 games winning streak and that is a lot of points but we can’t forget that before that we were 7 games without win.
So winning streak was just for filling the holes and not PL survival. That’s it.
And because of that we must carefully find at least normal PL experienced manager for securing survival and not gambling with unproven persons whatever their names are.

…we have a common goal, but we just have bring each other down along the way towards our goal!
It sometimes seems ad though the means are more important than the common goal (the tone in here sometimes is testament to that)
