Newcastle Tracking 20 Year-Old International Striker

There is news in the Chronicle today that Newcastle are tracking 20 year-old Polish International striker Arkadiusz Milik.

Arkadiusz Milik

Arkadiusz Milik – 20 year-old Polish striker

Milik signed on at German club Bayer Leverkusen in December of 2012 for around £2M, on a contract that runs through the summer of 2018, and he is on loan at Ajax for the full season, and the Dutch club have an option to buy him in the summer.

Newcastle Chief Scout Graham Carr watched Ajax’s 2-0 win over Groningen last weekend, and there were said to be a number of Premier League clubs looking at the 6’1″ striker, who was born in Tychy in southern Poland.

Newcastle do need to bring at least one new striker through the door this summer, so maybe the 14 times capped Polish International (6 goals) is one of our targets?

While playing in the Bundesliga for Beyer Leverkusen, he appeared eight times in the 2012-2013 season before going on loan to FC Augsburg .

But in Holland this season, he has done very well and in 16 appearances he has scored 17 goals.

Milik has played for all the Polish Youth sides and he made his full International debut for the Poland national side against South Africa in October of 2012 – when he was 18.

Arkadiusz seems a decent player and he could be a top target for Newcastle this summer, but if continues his goal-scoring form in Holland for the rest of the season, the Magpies could face some stiff competition for his signature.

Maybe we could get him if Ajax head coach Frank de Boer becomes the Newcastle head coach in the summer?

What do you think?

One of the top prospects around Europe at the minute. Unless Leverkusen have financial woes that I don’t know about, he won’t be leaving there for a while I suspect. When he does, it will be for far more then we are keen to pay.

I have been mulling over the possibilities of the latest goings on at MASH Holdings and come up with a conceivable conclusion:

    1) MASH Alpha and MASH Beta are companies set up as subsideries of MASH Holdings (fact)

    2) MASH Alpha provides a loan to Beta that if called in would bankrupt the latter (fact)

    3) MASH Beta is given control over approx. 95% of SD shares previously owned by MA (fact)

    4) Investment shares of MASH Beta are sold raising capital and removing overall ownership by MA (potentially say experts)

    5) MASH Beta buys controlling ownership of Glasgow Rangers (theory)

    6) MA is NOT breaking SFA rules and still owns NUFC

    QED

Nice article on Milik from last month but last weekend was the first game back from the Winter break.

70TWO @3 – I’m not following all your logic surely as alpha & beta are subsideries of mash MA still owns them all?

All very well tracking prospects and deals for the summer but if we don’t get the reinforcements we need and go belly up, it’d be yet another case of losing vast amounts of money for the sake of spending a few million now.

Again, Ashley’s short-term focus on the bottom line could result in relegation or bring very close to it. The man’s a nightmare!

Probably won’t happen but at least its a link to someone different.

So bored of the constant links to Remy, Gignac etc

The Hull game is massive for us, if we lose that i can see us getting dragged into the relegation scrap, which this season could involve the whole bottom half of the table.

    lesh,
He’s done the maths, spending 5M on a CB plus wages isn’t worth a potential top 8 finish.

I may be wrong but with Beta selling off its own shares (not SD shares), the ownership of that company becomes diluted, so that MA does not have a ‘controlling’ portion. Although he essentially has the right to withdraw the loan from Alpha and can exercise decision making that way.

    Jail.

Maybe Ashley needs a new calculator?

Spending £5m plus wages over 18 months is surely a way of not losing £20m (10 places @ £2m a Prem place) plus Prem and TV revenue monies lost following relegation?

    Or am I missing something?

I am far from being an expert, but was simply trying to apply logic to a situation where presumably MA wants ownership of Rangers without losing the money well of NUFC. It is guess work and I could be very much wrong.

Nice theory but just because he’s hypothetically sold SD shares through a subsidiary ie mash beta he still owns us no matter how he tries to work it. All roads lead to fatty in effect.

If we were included in the alpha and beta subsidiaries, let’s use alpha for example purposes. Obviously worse case scenario.

Alpha goes mysteriously bust and requires funding/a buy out. Whilst we are part of this holding company we by effect have also gone bust. Obviously we haven’t but the law would see it this way. Bear with me lol.

Mash beta then purchase ranger’s shares for complete control using cash from SD shares he’s sold. Bearing in mind the company that owns us has gone bust and is therefore no longer comes under his umbrella companies.

Once the purchase is ratified he brings alpha out of administration by supplying a loan from mash holdings.

This alpha subsidiary will be a brand new company with its own director but crucially the company’s within it will be the same.

Hypothetically this could take around a week to achieve. Viable? Not sure but it’s believable because of the type of cretin he is.

Any sensible person treats the majority of articles written as speculation at best and click bait at worst.

You lost me slightly. Principally because I am not expecting SD shares to be sold, they will be retained by Beta much like a Financial Investment company. Individuals then purchase shares in the company termed ‘Beta’ in which MA does not need to have any investment interest, as he can exercise the withdrawl of the loan. Therefore Beta can purchase Rangers and MA is not listed as an owner of that company.

Where I may be wrong is if shares are not considered ownership. In theory is it possible for an individual to own a company and not have any shares in it?

Of course I read the headlines as well, I also use my common sense and make my own judgements on the content. This is more of a chatroom than a blog. We all read the content but the reason the blog is as good as it is because of the posters,
Ed spends a lot of time getting up at odd hours to do this blog. If he jazzes up the headlines a bit so what . I don`t mind id he gets a few more clicks. This blog will not exactly be raking in huge amounts of cash

However, the creation of the subsidiary companies is probably more likely to be a matter of reducing the amount of Tax paid and possibly reducing his exposure to family law suits. Making this conversation null and void.

Ok. To use your method of beta not actually selling the shares of SD just letting investors invest into the company (beta) cash is now available for beta to buy rangers. Put this into my hypothetical of us being in Alpha and it becomes viable, I think lol.

I am not a lawyer but Alpha and Beta have recently been started and as new companies have MA and An Underling listed as directors. Does this amount to ownership? Also their addresses are listed to the same building as SD headquarters, so are plainly subsidiaries. Does this amount to ownership?

Ashley can remain on the board of Beta as a non-executive member and still not own any shares in the actual subsidiary. Does this amount to NON-ownership?
