Newcastle Striker Thinking Twice About Leaving Newcastle

Papiss Cisse is off with the Senegal squad in the African Cup of Nations at the moment, but he has yet to play for his country in their first two games in Group C,  a win and a draw.

Papiss Cisse – thinking twice about leaving Newcastle

And the news for about the last week is that Papiss Cisse has been offered a three year deal at Shanghai SIPG, who are managed by former England manager Sven Eriksson.

The deal is said to be worth £150K/week which is over £23M over the term of the contract – that’s a lot of money.

With Newcastle finding it difficult to score goals this season, because we are already one striker short,  it would be little short of disastrous if Cisse leaves during this January window.

The Senegal striker’s 9 Premier League goals in 14 appearances for Newcastle,  is more than a third of the league goals Newcastle have scored this season – so his goals have been very important to us.

The news coming through is that Papiss Cisse is not too willing to leave Newcastle – even if the news of the huge wage offer is true – although not much on what the fee would be for a player whose contract runs out in the summer of 2017.

Other news on Cisse is that Crustal Palace are said to be interested in the striker, but we’d be surprised if Palace can afford the fee for Papiss or his wages, so maybe that’s just a made up story – since we know Alan Pardew is looking for players in January.

While we are not really expecting many – if any – players coming into Newcastle by February 2nd, we’d be happy enough if we don’t lose any of our players this month.

That’s not too much to ask – is it?

We are hoping we buy nobody. We think we have bought enough crap for one season (Cabella and Riviere totalling about 16 million) and we think the shitty buyers at the club need a rest. We think we have bought two or three good players in the last few years (Cabaye, Debuchy, Sissoko) who we sell on on for a profit and lots of crap players. Usually French. We think the crap buyers, whoever they are, need a rest until the summer so they can recharge their batteries and buy more crap players.

Great weekend in the cup i agree .
then it dawns with some many of the big boys going out what might have been if just for once we had taken it seriously .
another season finishes in january .
Sure the prize money to win it falls way short of what 14th in the prem will generate but surely comrade Ashlinsky can see the p.r bonanza getting to a final ,a game still shown around the globe.
for example its the only english game shown live on free to air in australia and still gets great coverage throughout asia as a whole.
then again maybe fatty doesn’t care and one day he will seek therapy …ok mike please point to the doll and show us what that nasty geordie did to you (clearly it was never something as trivial as taking his dinner money judging by his portly girth)
never mind theres always next year eh?
