Newcastle Have Agreed £5M Deal For Dele Alli

The Mirror is reporting that Newcastle have agreed a £5M deal for Dele Alli, with the 18 year-old joining Newcastle in the summer.

Dele Alli – £5M deal agreed

As expected, the England U-19 International will continue on loan at MK Dons through the rest of this season, and with the Dons being 3rd top of League One – they have a decent chance of being promoted.

Newcastle in the summer made a similar deal with Nottingham Forest for goalkeeper Karl Darlow and center-back Jamaal Lascelles, who were allowed to stay at Forest for this season on loan, and they will join the Newcastle first team in the summer.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson had hinted last week that Newcastle’s interest was not just paper talk, and he had this to say on BBC Three Counties Radio last Friday:

“Obviously there’s been a lot of talk about Dele Alli and Newcastle United.” “I don’t think it is just paper talk – I think it is a bit more than that, but it is nothing we have heard about yet.”

“I think Dele conducts himself wonderfully well and if his mentality was weak the speculation would worry me, but he’s a very strong character.” “He will go down as one of the greatest players we’ve had.”

Dele had a great game against Manchester United in August when they won 4-0 in the Capital One Cup, and this lad’s potential is enormous.

He’s played 75 times with 20 goals and 9 assists for MK Dons since making his debut as a 16 year-old – and he’s just the kind of young player Newcastle should be signing.

If this 6’2″ tall youngster (and he’s still growing) is as good as we think he is – Dele will be challenging for a first team position at Newcastle as soon as next season.

Here’s some video of the player we will be signing – if this news is correct.

By the way I have just seen Carver on SSN and he’s not whoring Sissoko , he’s merely saying what we all know to be true , that every player at every club has their price

Who knows more about footy – Lesh or Pochettino -Eerrmm let me think for a nanosecond – The Argentinian gets my vote!!!

Pochettino began his reply by stating: “They don’t have a manager, they have a head coach. I am a head coach.”

Asked to explain the distinction, Pochettino suggested that his role in Tottenham’s hierarchy is less wide-ranging and more specific than his previous job at Southampton.

“I think it’s very different,” he said. “If you are the manager, you decide many things about the club. But if you are a head coach, your responsibility is to play better and try to improve the players and to get positive results.

“The head coach is not the same as the manager. If not, why am I not [called] the manager? I am the head coach. In Southampton, I was a manager. My responsibility was not only to coach the team. Here I am a head coach – a head coach is head of your department. My department is to train the team.”

SOOOOOOooooo….. did we get him? or did some change 4 mill to 5mill and make it a new story

Here is hoping that Alli is everything Jenas wanted to be… and Lascelles everything Bramble wasn’t….

Cant believe that people are actually excited about the likes of Delle – not disrespect to the lad but he is hardly the finished article and 20 goals from 75 appearances is hardly Shereresque.

No this is another lucky punt from our barrow boy owner who will cash in on any player as soon as poss – the sad thing is that people are happy!

Any new player coming in will have to have potential sell on value for profit, which is fair enough. But we need a better balance of experience as well.

BWB… I don’t get your depression…. A great young english talent for five million. Tall, strong, quick, vision, shot… looks a great purchase and a new direction from NUFC and Fatty McAshely….

I think these English players all have a better chance of staying than the french legion at NUFC… A player like Alli knows he wouldn’t get a chance at Chelsea etc…

I no everyone is crying about a CB and CF but this has nothing to do with that. A fantastic signing we can only hope works out… I think by the time these players make it… they may realize moving to Citeh like ROdwell, Sinclair, Zaha at United etc… isn’t worth it and staying at a club like NUFC is best

Ok so this deal hasn’t been confirmed or reported elsewhere so I will take it with a pinch of salt.

Jeff – Don’t think fans are frustrated that he was or wasn’t whoring players out but he can say….for anyone interested sorry but he’s not for sale, just like most prem managers say on a weekly basis

From the interview Lee Charnley gave it would seem that the club had no intention of trying to improve the managerial position. It is not in hindsight, but it is unbelievable that they would not even consider trying to talk to someone like Ronald Koeman who was available in the summer.

Ok things are going well for him and Southampton are a seemingly well run club, but the difference in the interviews he gives compared to AP or JC is outstanding. Plus he communicates and works on his relationship with the supporters. Truly is one that got away for the lack of aspirations.

Looks like a great deal. Not Sheareresque – who is? But NUFC paid a British record fee for Shearer, the equivalent of 50-80M today. And the lad has time to develop. Looking at the video, he’s special, and a big, strong kid. Hope it’s for real.

I can’t believe they’re not saying at least “Sissoko not for sale atm”. Ffs we are a total joke buying kids (which is good) and selling our present essential players when every single prem team is strengthening! It’s like a f*cking car dealership for football players! Convinced Ashley has lost control and Charnley lost the plot! They will kill the golden goose if they get relegated we are f*cked for ever!

What are they doing buying kids (good) but selling the players that will keep us in the prem?!! If Sissoko goes we are f***ed cos morale will drop and we’ll just collapse as we did before. Last time when Cabaye was sold we dropped like a stone. This time we’ll never get back as the championship is much stronger now! Charnley looks like a real problem here cos there is no one to tell Ashley how it is and he’s only got eyes for Rangers atm ! Bad times !

Are you being serious! 20 goals and 9 assists from an 18 YEAR OLD isn’t good! A goal every 3 and a bit games when most of these games he was a 16 17 year old and he’s a midfielder!!!!!!!

You must know nothing about football if you don’t think that is good!!!!!!!!!

Sissoko I believe will not be gone in January but he will go in the summer. Alli is his replacement and this time they have replaced before selling.

Still too little too late in my opinion, the fat man needs to be embarrassed to make him ship out!

Sky’s the limit literally but he just doesn’t see it! How much publicity has Emirates got through Arsenal and they’ve not won much lately!

ToonKK…. fair comment, I don’t think its gone down but I get your point. I think its about keeping players and forming a unit that gets better with time. A solid core of english players can set a platform for one or two flashy foreigners who can come and go as they please.
Like Ings… he is a player that should never play for United, Chelsea etc… yet his combination of touch, eye for goal and work rate is something every team needs. Place him next to Perez and they will both improve… yet I could see Ings staying long term and Perez going to out the door for a heavy price.

Once a team has a solid core of long term players… and a special player comes in and takes us over the top… they might feel the need to stay on… just my take on our current situation and what might work

We need a centre half, we need a centre forward and the only deal we are looking at is for a centre mid, something we are fully stocked up on compared to other positions
