The Mirror is reporting that Newcastle have agreed a £5M deal for Dele Alli, with the 18 year-old joining Newcastle in the summer.
Dele Alli – £5M deal agreed
As expected, the England U-19 International will continue on loan at MK Dons through the rest of this season, and with the Dons being 3rd top of League One – they have a decent chance of being promoted.
Newcastle in the summer made a similar deal with Nottingham Forest for goalkeeper Karl Darlow and center-back Jamaal Lascelles, who were allowed to stay at Forest for this season on loan, and they will join the Newcastle first team in the summer.
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson had hinted last week that Newcastle’s interest was not just paper talk, and he had this to say on BBC Three Counties Radio last Friday:
“Obviously there’s been a lot of talk about Dele Alli and Newcastle United.” “I don’t think it is just paper talk – I think it is a bit more than that, but it is nothing we have heard about yet.”
“I think Dele conducts himself wonderfully well and if his mentality was weak the speculation would worry me, but he’s a very strong character.” “He will go down as one of the greatest players we’ve had.”
Dele had a great game against Manchester United in August when they won 4-0 in the Capital One Cup, and this lad’s potential is enormous.
He’s played 75 times with 20 goals and 9 assists for MK Dons since making his debut as a 16 year-old – and he’s just the kind of young player Newcastle should be signing.
If this 6’2″ tall youngster (and he’s still growing) is as good as we think he is – Dele will be challenging for a first team position at Newcastle as soon as next season.
Here’s some video of the player we will be signing – if this news is correct.
