Here’s Something From Newcastle To Warm The Heart

Mike Ashley is not generally liked by Newcastle fans and therefore when some good things are done by the club, there’s not much credit given out, and one case of that are the improvements that will soon take place to make the training grounds at Benton a state of the art facility and one of the best in Europe.

And also after Alan Pardew had arrived four years ago Mike Ashley agreed to install underground heating at some of the training pitches at Benton, so the lads could train outside and all of the pitches were not frozen.

Now we hear the Newcastle United Disabled Supporters Association (NUDSA) is being given an all-expenses paid trip to Newcastle’s game at Hull City tomorrow, with the club providing the group with free tickets, coaches, catering and stewarding.

The Premier League Away Fans Fund was put in place to assist travelling supporters across the country, and as reported on the Newcastle web-site, NUDSA have been given the resources to ensure 50 of its members can attend tomorrow’s game

The club did the same last year when we won 4-1 at the KC Stadium on March 1st – the game when Alan Pardew went crazy and was subsequently banned for seven games – six of which we lost.

And the trip was also recommended at one of the Newcastle United Fans Forum – on which NUDSA have been given a permanent seat – so there’s some good coming out of those meetings too.

This is what Gareth Beard, the NUDSA Chairman who also sits on the Newcastle Fans Forum had to say:

“Everyone is looking forward to the trip, which has proved to be very popular and hopefully will bring us much needed three points.”

“On behalf of NUDSA, I’d like to thank the club and particularly those involved in organising the trip as they can often be complicated.”

They deserve it.

And when we have things that are challenging in our own lives,  maybe we can think of those who have it a lot worse than ourselves, and show amazing courage every single day just to get by.

It’s just terrific that the 50 fans will make the trip for tomorrow’s game, and we hope that lads can also give them a win.

    Off to market;
    Pick up a bit of young, cheap livestock;
    Bring them back home;
    Fatten them up for a season or two;
    Sell them on back at market for a good profit
    and then start all over again… going to market …..
    I wonder whether John Calver realises that he is nothing more than Head Shepherd … and not Head Coach.
    Poor bugger … what a fool.
