Mehdi Abeid and Gabby Obertan will be available for the game tomorrow, and Papiss Cisse is jetting back from Equatorial Guinea today and all three will be available for the game at Hull City tomorrow.
Mehdi Abeid – likely to start for Newcastle tomorrow
But it looks like the game will come too early for Siem de Jong, who will likely get some playing time on Monday for the Newcastle U21 side in the game against West Brom at Darsley Park.
And maybe Siem will be in the squad for the home game against Stoke a week on Sunday?
We’ll assume that Paul Dummett will not be risked with his hamstring injury, and Cheick Tiote is still in Equatorial Guinea at the African Cup of Nations, with Ivory Coast having qualified for the quarter finals of that competition and they play Algeria on Sunday.
This could be Newcastle’s best side for Hull:
Janmaat Williamson Coloccini (c) Haidara
Sissoko Abeid Colback Cabella
Subs: Woodman Santon Good Anita Gouffran Ameobi Obertan
We don’t know if Rob Elliot is fit to take his place on the bench, but we think he’s still one or two weeks away from returning.
And with Steven Taylor our for the season and Dummett injured we have Australian International Curtis Good on the subs bench – since he’s fit again.
And John Carver may well start Papiss Cisse on the bench tomorrow, after his travels back from Africa today, but we also think that Abeid will be preferred to Anita in midfield.
