Surprisingly I agree with Manxpie here lol.

The olay’s were good but most of it was sideways and backwards and was for about 2-3 minutes, that is until willo got it, flapped and hoofed it and like someone else said only came about once we were 0-2 up. Hope it gives the lads more confidence to play snappy one twos more often. Obviously not all the time we ain’t Barcelona.

Not a great performance but not a bad one either. Much improved second half but still struggled in the final third to create chances which didn’t come from outside the box. Lacking that cutting edge from midfield to striker to link the play IMHO. Hopefully SDJ is that man.

Just a thought but what kind of win Percentage would Carver have to post for fans to accept him as the right man full time??
By May he’ll have managed 19 PL games. Long enough to judge. If he posts a win percentage of over 55% i think it’ll be hard not to appoint him…

::disclaimer – this is hypothetical And in no way am i calling for his appointment, im firmly a hoper that we take Cocu or Tuchel. Just wondering what Carver has to do to get the Fans onside full time

Totally agree. Thought he looked excellent today

The worry is when dummett comes back he’ll get dropped. Hope not.

Saw a change today though. If we go in at HT 1-0 up with pardew in charge we would have set up second half for containment! Carver sent us out to kill the game.

Scratch that. Pardew in charge we don’t go in 1-0 because Cabella is on the bench

I still wouldn’t start Sammy in the next game. Apart from the goal he did nothing productive all day.

Great goal for sure, but he isn’t going to be striking them like that every game.

A change in play is clear to see
    Tactics have changed
We don’t try and sit on a goal
We triad to go for a second
And low and behold goufran didn’t start
Good to see dummet in the croud with another one of my mates good old clarky who runs the blakelaw socials team
    Where dummets little brother plays

Nice that Carver doesn’t BS us about transfers too! Hes got no say and hes honest about it. Pardew used to have us on with his ‘we’re looking to get 2 in etc’

ancient i would it’d be silly to drop him after that at least he holds on to the ball and can dribble down the line

a run in the team for him could show us all wat he’s really about

Think it’s between Hairdara, Anita and Cabella although none were outstanding over full 90 or how much of it they played. Anita probably edged it for me with his controlled play in 2cnd half. Only poor game was from Colo who fortunately wasn’t punished for some reckless play.

Commentators on BT were saying how poor Hull were but some credit has to go to us for making that so especially in 2cnd half. Long way to go yet but credit Carver for starting team he did and keeping them at it when we were in front.

Still feeling uneasy until 2 up and even a little then as same old defensive frailties exist. With players to come in though we should be able to get another 10 point

Yeah, much more entertaining since jc took the reigns.

Look he is not going to get us into a cl spot but, on today’s performance we will do alright and see some decent foota in the process.

It’s a good thing mash was there, shows he still has an interest in the football and not just checking in on his investment.

manxpie – I don’t recall Sammy having a successful dribble.

He won 7 headers and had a shot on goal that turned into a goal. Everything else was clowning around and giving the ball away.

If it were not for Collo, we would have been a goal down because of Sammy.

Far too much strolling around and giving the ball away for my liking, but I can see how he could split opinion.

I think the football is a bit better under Carver to be honest.

Cabella looks a lot better too.

Pardew would have surrendered that game in the second half. Keep it tight lads in his foghorn voice.

As for Ameobi he often loses possession under little pressure and gives away unecessary free kicks. These are areas which he has to work on if he is to get new contract. He wasn’t the only one as we were often slow in releasing ball forward even when we’re had men overlapping – hangover from Pardew’s style? Something which will evolve more as Aarrons Dejong come into picture?

I wonder if the slug has spoken to carver after the win. Didn’t he occasionally pop into the changing rooms to see the king? Very rarely but still, it’d show a bit of class imo.

Who am I kidding, he’d go in coincidentally at the same time as the players were showering lol. Joke.

    just got in
    my MOM
    Joint: Anita and Cabella
    followed by Perez and Williamson.

Match: We were absolute shite first twenty minutes – steadily got into the game.
Once we scored only one team in it.
still got to learn when in control don’t need to force the pass/game keep the ball and work it around for a opening.

Who was poor: Colocinni and Sammi first half would of hooked him but what do I know came out second half and scored.

Again Krul poor at crosses into the six yard box – should of come for their best chance but made amends for point blank stop.

Haidara MOM, should be first choice LB now, happy to see Santon sold if he wants to go, good to have as backup though doubt he will be happy with that.

Cabella starting to show now, still pisses about too muich but that will come in time if he continues to progress, after a full preseason I would hope he will be flying.

Still lacking a commnading CB to play next to Dummett. On the ground Dummett hasnt put a foot wrong but Pelle showed he needs a tall CB to handle that kind of threat, like a Willo but who doesnt break into a cold sweat with the abll at his feet.

Overall think we have played better under JC, he has Dummett as a CB, Haidara at LB, gouffran dropped(though now scoring), Willo will be backup so the basics he seemed to see were wrong under Pards.

Time will tell where we go from here, lets start by not selling any fecker by Monday night and ideally getting Deli Alli in.

sammi for me deserves his chance especially after today

if aarons was fit i’d agree with ya’s but we play better with out n out wingers especially left footers out on the left

    perfect assessment of the match.

it’s a shame most of you are still stuck in pro-AP/anti-AP trenches. you guys will argue so long for the sake of arguing that in a few months or years time, you’ll forget why you even hated each other. get over it. MA is still here but it’s a new era with JC. Best we can do is support him for the time being. Absolutely nothing to be upset about today
