Newcastle United’s French winger Remy Cabella has revealed that he’s been doing some extra work at home in order to build up his strength and physique, so he can cope better with the physical side of the game in the Premier League.
Great action shot of Cabella firing home first goal on Saturday
And since John Carver has been coaching the side, Remy Cabella has started most games or the Magpies.
Remy has played some very good games this year already, and he scored his first ever goal for Newcastle last Saturday at Hull, and showed just how much he’s learned this season in England
Remy had the ball about ten yards outside the penalty area, but was then barged off the ball and fell down.
But rather than stay on the ground and look around at the referee expecting a foul, he jumped back up just in time to intercept an attempted clearance by a Hull defender.
The French International then moved quickly to his left, and rifled the ball home for a wonderful goal that put Newcastle on their way to all three points.
And Remy Cabella was our Man of the Match on Saturday, and he had this to say today in the local press:
“I do bodybuilding sometimes at the club, and I also work on it alone at home.” “I have gained eight pounds of muscle weight since I came to Newcastle.”
It certainly looks like Remy Cabella is now coming through for Newcastle, and even though he has not been in good form for the side until recently, he has still remained popular among the fans.
One reason is because of this kind of dedication he is showing, and he seems just determined to do well on Tyneside.
That cannot be bad.

Re Satka / Woodgate I was simply comparing the gangly stature and when I’ve seen him play, he’s used the same technique of getting real close almost wrapping himself around the bloke. Of course he is not (yet) in the same class.
I use to love it when Woody used to get that tight to a player and you’d think he’d be stuffed if the attacker could turn him quickly. They never did he calmly stuck in a foot and took the ball nearly all the time
Yep Streete is built a lot more like the traditional bruiser centre half – I think Injuries are going to be his downfall, as indeed they have been for Stevie Taylor.

Comment #43Absolutely fantastic news that these 5 players who we don’t need have to get games. Very good business. Long may that relationship with Gers continue, especially if they get into the SPL.

The fans are behind the team, for what it is.
Can you tell me how this master plan of building slowly will ever come to fruition when every play at the club has their price?
How exactly will we build a team for the future when our best players are sold as soon as that price is met?
Even the inept one said he has had to rebuild the squad 3 times while he was here.
So where is the progress from the five year plan that was put in place seven years ago?

Comment #45It is against the SPFL rules to stipulate which games a loan player should play in. -apparently. If so cannot be part of a contract I would have thought.

No-one seems to be sorting out contracts?
You’re probably right as that would’ve been part of Charnley’s Club Secretary job before he was appointed CEO. The CEO role would add to his responsibilities – without the support of a Club Secretary.
There’s only so much a person can do but no doubt Ashley’d be too engrossed in the finances to worry about who’s doing the admin! Ergo, things get overlooked or neglected.

Yes, Mbabu has more time on his side. It does look as though the club are trying to fast track young kids and see if they can hack it instead of have them hang around as “prospects” for years. Last year Satka and Aarons went from being juniors then given squad numbers, then being given a place on the bench by the end of the season
Aarons of course made the first team after his pre season showing. The club really need to sign him up on a new deal. I would hazard a guess that Santon going would allow the tight fisted buggers to do that for him and one other and still save them money. We’ll see…

I have no information to doubt you but it would be an interference by the SPFL in decisions taken by clubs.
I also suspect that SPFL’s ruling is contrary to European law on free movement.

It would be a fascinating court case if SPFL tried to enforce their rule in trying to sanction the manager of Rangers for ‘freely’ selecting players at his disposal.

He may have chosen them to play freely or may not, but the fact is he said he has been told by DL that he has to play them when fit every game. So therefore his freedom to choose has been taken away.

Comment #55Part of the ethos of football is that it is healthy to have an element of “fighting” for your place instilled at a club. This keeps everyone on their toes and introduces real competition for places -thus getting mre out of the players you have on the books.
Introducing the type of arrangements as has been reported this morning is contrary to achieving a healthy and balanced regime and is against the basic ethos in team sports of fighting for your place.

Comment #56Ajax have had this system in place for years the trick is to have a conveyor belt of talent
And who has Ashley sold who didn’t want to leave
Tiote could of left he didn’t want to where is he ?
Ashley is not at Newcastle to make us worse that is what people need to get out of there heads
But we have a structure in place you either get in line or you leave
We are never gonna run this club making people super rich so people leave for money pure and simple
Does that answer your question firebug666

Good point, unless of course that applies only to the loaning club in this case NUFC. The poor sap of a manager at Rangers is being told by his own board and no doubt STFU whilst at it.
We know that they are in effect one and the same thing i.e. all paths lead to Ashley, however the Scottish FA are having a hard job make that accusation even stick at the moment.

Comment #59Mr Tubbs is currently driving a coach and horses throught the rules of Scottish football.
He is blindsiding everyone. It now becomes even more apparent why he wanted an adjourment to his SFA hearing. The SFA blinked and Mr Tubbs moved swiftly to continue his ambitions at Rangers.

when Ashley took over the club and announced his 5 year plan I think most of us bought into it
was there a plan or was it a lie he has been at the club since 08
the elite player performance plan didn’t come till 2011
so how come we were not ready and able to get our cat one status when it started
why has it taken till last year for us to get cat1 status on our academy
were 3 years behind most other clubs and this was supposed to be an integral part of his plan

Of Course not, that’s your opinion, and it flies in the face of reality.
If the price is met the players will be sold, and the Head coach is not to panic because a replacement will be brought in when the market is right and the player they want is available, even if this takes them two seasons or more.
The whole thing is farcical. Here you are calling Mike Ashley a Makem and defending his regime.
In the seven years since he took over we have been treading water, except for when we were relegated, we have made no progress since returning, and don’t tell me we finished fifth, we know that already, and Ashley has shown us why that was a mistake and will never happen again.
But hey don’t take my word for it, just ask Charnley his interview with the Chronicle tell you all you need to know.
The club has no vision, no ambition and no future under Ashley.

Your doing again son, giving an opinion from a position of not really knowing your subject – this time Rangers
1st Kenny McDowall resigned in December -he is working a years notice
2nd McCoist and KM’s reignation had nothing to do with Ashley , it was the return of the extremely dodgy Paul Murray back to the scene of his former misdemeanours
3rd A letter has gone this morning to Companies House pointing out that Dave King not only has convictions for tax fraud but still has charges to be answered for extortion and money laundering.
This info is all out there in the public domain if you look for it.

some of it was needed especially wages what we were paying owen was obscene
Ashley hasn’t actually done anything with out the new tv revenue we are making between 5 10 mill now but all he has done is get rid or let contract wind down on over payed players like smith xisco and not replaced them not all bad I will grant you
but were in a situation with the first team that the squad is so thin that one more injury to a defender and we will be fielding players with no experience
the club said they tried to bring in a defender when mbiwa left for roma but they were to late, so why wasn’t that player signed the day the window opened
cos they gone half the season without him and we can carry on

Comment #73First off, all this ‘you wanted Pards out careful what you wish for now look what’s happened’ is absolute rubbish. Pardew left of his own volition get over it.
Second, the only thing being built for the future is Mike’s portfolio

Comment #75On the Streete, Satka, Good debate:
Is the issue with Streete, aside from his injuries, not his attitude? Wasn’t it him that was given a dig for not giving a toss after getting beat by the mackem reserves? I know he was highly regarded at one point, but maybe his ego outweighs his talent?
Satka seems like the one they all seem to rate, even Pardew was purring over him in pre-season so hopefully we’ll see him make it soon, although he looks awfully slight for a CB.
Good is (I believe) also very highly regarded. His issue has been a terrible run of injuries, but had he been fit this season I expect we’d have seen him getting a run out a lot more than Streete or Satka.

In the seven years Ashley has took over
Toss spur and Liverpool have spent millions upon millions and they are no further forward than us
Suarez went because the price was right
Newcastle are gonna find it difficult considering the money city, Manu and Chelsea have spent
We can’t compete like that as Liverpool and Hotspur can’t either
We have to box clever and rely on a youth policy coming good or we will never catch them
It’s difficult watching it slowly develop but look outside the box and the bigger picture
if we recruit correctly this summer and weed out a bit dead wood and bring one or two more through the youth system
Make a few more good buys we will be knocking on the door for top 6 next year
Then when we grab a champions league place who is to say Ashley won’t sanction big money on a couple of key players for those games
We can’t attract them types of players until our league position says we can
Southampton is prime example of that they shop in the same shops as us
Manu Chelsea in another
Granted Southampton have a bigger budget but that’s because they are only second to city financially
But they also don’t buy Diego Costa s and the like
Newcastle will get there I have no doubt using the structure we have in place a few more years of development and a few more good windows we will be up there amongst it
