French radio station RMC is reporting that Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle have made contract offers to Ghanaian winger/striker Andre Ayew.
Andre Ayew – plenty off offers
But if that is true he will probably prefer Liverpool, since he has made no secret over the last two years that Liverpool would be a dream move for him, so if they really have made him a decent offer, we would expect him to sign a pre-contract agreement with the Reds.
But it is clear that Andre wants to move to England and he said this last August:
“The Premier League is a league every player dreams about. The English league is the one most followed in Ghana. It’s true that I have a real preference for England.”
“I like everything about it; the atmosphere, the game, the fans. There is a lot of intensity. It is a beautiful championship.”
Andre’s five year deal at Marseilles runs out in the summer, so he will become a free agent then and clubs have been allowed to talk to the 24 year-old and his agent since early January.
There are rumors that he’s asking for high wages – so if that’s true then it’s hard to believe that Newcastle could sign him to a pre-contract agreement, given the tight financial controls placed on the club by the owner.
There was news a few days ago that various clubs had made offers to him, and the news now is that the three English clubs have made offers and Andre and his agents are studying the offers.
Borussia Dortmund may also be making him am offer imminently, according to news in France.
Andre Ayew is exactly what Newcastle need – a fairly young goal-scoring winger – and in his five years at Marseilles he’s made 194 appearances with 53 goals and 22 assists, and he’s got a great left foot.
He’s played 62 times for Ghana with 11 goals and played well in both the last World Cup and African Cup of Nations for them.
