Rangers were well beaten by Hibs last night 2-0 at Ibrox and the Edinburgh club went above them in the Scottish Championship into second position.
Haris Vuckic – played 77 minutes last night
And there was only one Newcastle player playing – Haris Vuckic – and he was replaced after 77 minutes.
The other Newcastle players on loan north of the border are suffering from what has been a malaise at Newcastle this season – injuries – and Remie Streete, Kevin Mbabu, Shane Ferguson and Gael Bigirimana are all out injured at the moment.
Goals from Robertson after 19 minutes and Stevenson after 82 minutes were enough to give Hibernian their third win over Rangers this season.
And there were protests before the game against the Rangers Board, as thousands of fans amassed at the front doors, and they want rid of Sandy and James Easdale and also the controversial Newcastle owner Mike Ashley.
The protests continued inside the ground when the game started, with chants of “sack the board” .
The Rangers fans want to get rid of the Board who have accepted controversial loans from Mike Ashley to keep them financially afloat through the end of the season.
But the conditions of the loans reached with the English Billionaire are such that Ashley has taken full control of the club, even though he owns less than 9% of the shares.
Proof of Ashley’s control was seen lately when he shipped five Newcastle youngsters north of the border on loan on the last day of the January transfer window, and told the Rangers manager Kenny McDowall he must play them.
There is an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th, and there will be a vote of the shareholders at that to determine the club’s future – and the fans want different people in charge of the iconic club’s future.
Rangers are now 3rd in the league with 41 points from 21 games, and they need to finish in the top four to qualify for the play-offs.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed clubs in the Championship participate in a play-off that includes the second bottom team in the Scottish Premier League, to decide which club goes into the top division in Scotland.

Comment #82Beer…I agree there is lots of things Ed could be talking about…and sometimes you get more credibility by not saying anything at all…
BandB…it’s slow on here – there is not much news – but isn’t that okay? Do we need to expand the portfolio?

I agree. You could even contrast Moyes: Martinez more favourably.
He was talked up massively by Whelan whilst constantly having structural problems defensively.

Throw him out 😉
I see his point though, if it was us Ashley would have ordered the under 13’s to play.
I’m watching Real instead and pretending it’s international week.

Comment #101jesperfuglsang @89 – That is not what I said at all, instead of showing off with big words try reading my post properly! I’m saying that what happens at Rangers is relevant to us for obvious reasons and if you think it isn’t then you are kidding yourself. Therefore other readers including myself are interested.in the Rangers stories.
BandB @74 – I don’t know who I want to win – not Palace for obvious reasons but I don’t like Brendan Rodgers either 🙂

Comment #104BandB- it’s of no consequence to me but what would be the point.
Jeff is nobodies fool – it doesn’t pay to underestimate such people.
Mr Tuff- can be very mean spirited and frequently takes on the mantra of a blog bully. I form my own opinions. I recently served on a jury and the most unlikely types were very correct in their judgement and
analysis of evidence. I have an inclination to be overly respectful to
the older blogger but Mr Tuff pushes it!

You are just the guy to do the draw for the next round.
You could say “balls 8 and 12 are withdrawn cos I hate Pardew and Rodgers.”
The FA don’t appear to mind the competition being treated as a joke.
So they might even think “fair enough, martoon!”

yes, I’ve seen us been lackluster but the other night we didn’t even look like a premier league side. Terrible, apart from Cisse’ s goal which was a great header.

Comment #120By the time I was 35 year-old I had two little lads hooked.
Like Sir Bobby said in that text of Ed’s, they saw the hallowed turf of their great-grandfathers and fell in love.
Eyes sparkling at the noise and excitement.
Listen to this noise and passion at little Palace, day trippers, and think this is a fraction of what it was at our ground for generations.
And when you have shuffled your grey way, silently watching with your mates, between going on and returning to the lash…. ask who you inspired and who will follow you.
