Rangers were well beaten by Hibs last night 2-0 at Ibrox and the Edinburgh club went above them in the Scottish Championship into second position.
Haris Vuckic – played 77 minutes last night
And there was only one Newcastle player playing – Haris Vuckic – and he was replaced after 77 minutes.
The other Newcastle players on loan north of the border are suffering from what has been a malaise at Newcastle this season – injuries – and Remie Streete, Kevin Mbabu, Shane Ferguson and Gael Bigirimana are all out injured at the moment.
Goals from Robertson after 19 minutes and Stevenson after 82 minutes were enough to give Hibernian their third win over Rangers this season.
And there were protests before the game against the Rangers Board, as thousands of fans amassed at the front doors, and they want rid of Sandy and James Easdale and also the controversial Newcastle owner Mike Ashley.
The protests continued inside the ground when the game started, with chants of “sack the board” .
The Rangers fans want to get rid of the Board who have accepted controversial loans from Mike Ashley to keep them financially afloat through the end of the season.
But the conditions of the loans reached with the English Billionaire are such that Ashley has taken full control of the club, even though he owns less than 9% of the shares.
Proof of Ashley’s control was seen lately when he shipped five Newcastle youngsters north of the border on loan on the last day of the January transfer window, and told the Rangers manager Kenny McDowall he must play them.
There is an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th, and there will be a vote of the shareholders at that to determine the club’s future – and the fans want different people in charge of the iconic club’s future.
Rangers are now 3rd in the league with 41 points from 21 games, and they need to finish in the top four to qualify for the play-offs.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed clubs in the Championship participate in a play-off that includes the second bottom team in the Scottish Premier League, to decide which club goes into the top division in Scotland.

Comment #121Whether we like it or not we’ll always be connected with Rangers. Mash will use our players at both clubs, as well as using Nufc money.

Comment #122Martoon…I don’t want a fall out either mate!
…but a few of us do have a problem seeing how what happens at Rangers affects us. It gets said alot on here, but nothing really shows / explains why.
I could name many reasons why it won’t.

The new guard are the Eloi of “The Time Machine.”
They accept being preyed upon.
They will not raise a hand to help. In fact, they will intervene to prevent others from trying to speak against “the inevitable.’
No-one listens to Jail. Or Ibizatoon. Tsunki, you or me.
What we say bores them.
It is not the world they understand.

Rangers posts are irrelevant because Ashley will own them lock stock and barrel eventually.
It doesn’t mean he will sell Newcastle though cos he could own both. I still have no interest in Rangers any mote than SD !

Comment #128The man is worth £3-5 billion and could actually fund a CL team if he wanted to. If he does have that ambition for Rangers then it will only be a few games as they will never qualify beyond provisionals. So they will be in the Europa if they’re lucky but not getting any European exposure. Either way I’m not interested in Rangers as I think Ashley just wants them for Sports Direct Marketing having failed at Newcastle.
