Local Lad Identifies Area Of Improvement – More Goals

Jack Colback has been an excellent signing for Newcastle, and he’s really surprised us how well he’s played, and how quickly he’s settled in at Newcastle – but of course it is his home town club.

Jack Colback scores great goal against Stoke City

Jack has a cultured left foot, and he is an accurate passer of the ball and was called up for the England squad early in the season but was injured and so missed his chance of Intenrational honors.

But if he keeps playing the way he has for the Magpies this season, he should get another call up from manager Roy Hodgson.

Jack has played a total of 27 times for Newcastle so far, and he’s been an automatic starter for the club in this his very first season.

And Jack has scored 3 Premier league goals  this season, and that’s the area he wants to improve on – he wants to score more goals for Newcastle.

All top central midfield attacking players score goals,  and with Jack’s cultured  left foot, hopefully he should be able  to get a few more goals for us this season.

This is what Jack has told the Chronicle:

““I am on three goals now. It is always something I have wanted to improve on – my ratio of goals.” “I have managed three so far.”

“But I still want to score a few more.” “We have a lot of attacking threats. We want to let the attacking flair players do their thing.”

While at Sunderland Jack scored only 5 goals in 135 appearances for the Black Cats, but three of those were last season in his 41 appearances.

So one more goal will make this his highest scoring season in the Premier League.

While on loan at Ipswich Town in the 2009-2010 season he did score 5 goals in 41 appearances for the East Anglia side.

LVG has picked an XI full of quality first team regulars. His strongest team. V Preston North End.

Makes you sick being a fan of our embarrassing club.

Right then, I’ll get optimate started. I think Colback is a fairly decent player. He is steady on the ball, scores the odd goal and is more consistent than Tiote was. 😆

Hope he plays with Abeid in centre midfield at the weekend. Its gonna be tough of course given the might of the opposition, but I think they’re our best bet.
As far as future England ambitions…why not? He’s young enough, and I don’t see too many young English lads in the Prem who do his type of job. In the past Lampard, Scholes, Barry would have been growing into this type of role at his age…

Don’t worry lads. Next season we’re going to field an extremely financially responsible side. Little or no spending in the summer. A possible sale or two and then we’re set up perfectly to be mediocre or less again next season. Huzzah!!!

If Abeid comes in I dont think we will miss Tiote one bit to be honest Colback and Sissoko do need to up their games both have been poor recently

Colback and SIssoko really need to be scoring about 10 goals each they have ability but cant seem to finish or get into the box enough possibly under instructions mind you

As an aside…on the scum’s exit v Bratford last night…
Now I’m not usually one to gloat, BUT:
Did anyone else have a hearty chuckle at Adam Johnson’s dodgy giving away of the ball around his own penalty area… leading directly to Stead, of all people, getting the goal that killed them off? Especially SWEET after the way he gobbed off after his last gasp goal against us. Smoggy nobber

Yeah hopefully Carver can evoke the spirit of SBR (again!) and get them up for the derby for a change.
I called Johnson a smoggy before..must apologise, he only played for them at youth level. He’s actually a DIRTY MACKEM through and through.

Hang on a minute though, if they sack Poyet they’ll get a new manager in pronto (unlike us eh?) with the injection of enthusiasm that always brings…and we could do without them having that before we play them!

See that my comments a few threads back (Ed really does pump out way to many) got a lot of reactions which is good imo… Those who say not going to game will have no affect how bout we try it before we knock it.. What is the worse that can happen? And that Man U goal was offsides on Rooney just pulled the matador aka hockey screen we were penalized a few seasons back for something way more innocent then that disgrace

Watching under 18s. Non of them in same league as the Chelsea kids. They are faster, Strong, skillful and know how to pass a ball. We keep giving the ball away. Not much difference from the first team. Someone needs to scout the local area more thoroughly. Defence is very good but really weak in midfield.

Sad stuff. Give it a rest. Remember SBR’s squad? In his second season in charge he finished 11th – same as his first. He did beat the Mackems – in his third season, after spending over £20M (equivalent to over £50M in today’s market). This club had its glorious past in the 1920s as far as the league is concerned, and the early 50s for the FA Cup. Compared to the average position over the past 100 years, or the last 50 years, results under Ashley and especially under Pardew have been above par. Probably explains why the SJP is full for league games.

We won the League in 1927 and the FA Cup 3 times in 5 years in the 1950’s. The halcyon years in modern times were during the Hall/Shepherd Keegan/Robson era.

    And?
