More Top Coaches Available To Newcastle This Summer

There’s not much that seems to be going on at the moment in the hunt for a head coach at Newcastle, and maybe some of that is because Newcastle will wait until the summer, since some top coaches – not available now – could become available at the end of the season.

And those would be in addition to those we have already been linked with.

thomas tuchel _468x345

Thomas Tuchel available in the summer

Just as long as John Carver and his team can keep Newcastle near the middle of the table,  and we don’t have a massive slump like we did last season, then the situation this summer could be in favor of Newcastle.

Newcastle are waiting for the summer to see what the new situation turns out to be, and it could well be that a top coach, currently not available, is available.

And we assume Lee Charnley and the Board are keeping track of some of those potential candidates.

We don’t expect Rafa Benitez to be coming to Newcastle – ever – although his contract at Naples runs out in the summer and he’s be available, and that could be true of some other top coaches too.

There are at least two coaches that we already know will become available, who would seem to be excellent choices for Newcastle – Remi Garde and Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel’s contract at Mainz runs out at the end of June, and if news reports are to be believed Remi Garde didn’t want to come to Newcastle half way through the season.

Frank de Boer will announce his intentions soon, but we expect that to simply be to continue as the Ajax coach.

If it isn’t then Newcastle will be quickly linked with Frank, and maybe Barcelona too, if they decide to replace current head coach Luis Enrique.

Newcastle however, cannot wait too long before appointing a coach, and it will have to be made by the latest in late June, so he is installed before pre-training begins in early July.

The appointment will probably make or break Lee Charnley as Newcastle’s Managing Director, and Lee knows it’s a very important appointment for both the club and the fans.

There’s no doubt about that.

If Carver can keep us near mid table then he’ll get the job, fattys perfect scenario is for us to finish 11th / 12th as he won’t have to pay bonuses and therefore save even more money in his pocket.

In all probability, Carver just needs to finish higher than 15th and he’ll get the job.
Fatty will take the profits into MASH Holdings to spend on other investments whilst ensuring we still owe him 120 million plus so nobody will buy us – he’s actually using the ‘interest free loan’ in his favour – why take it back, he’s earning much more revenue than he would interest

Still don’t get why if they were serious about either tuchel or garde. A pre contract wasn’t signed tuchel is on sabbatical and garde is available.
To me this tells us they are not seriously looking .
Carver will be given the job.

I think Mike Knows nothing about which mgr is good and which one is inept.
It’s Lee’s recommendation that is important here.If he is that good and If what he says is true in his earlier interview, that he is looking for continental coach in a long term basis,we have a chance on the likes of Tuchel,Galtier,Garde, etc etc…
This will be the most important appointment in Nufc history after long while and hope will not mess it up.And ofcourse we highly expect one of those, not the likes of Bruce or Carver!

what sort of a man get non playing staff and playing staff to sign up on position based bonuses to top up there poor (except footballers ) wages and then take a way the ability to finish as high as we can with flogging the manager and player sales or loans

cabaye was singing our praises to all that would listen in the French camp do we think the likes of sissoko janmatt and others will be so keen to spread the word

one fine day – I suspect that Garde already has the job and will take over in the summer.

As always, the fans are last to know any official news out of the club, plus they may want to keep it quiet in case there is a change in circumstances.

Garde was asked in January about the job, he claimed he could not comment but apparently smirked. If there was nothing to it, he would have been able to rule himself out.

forget the Newcastle wont get into a bidding war over a player but I doubt we could compete with a newly promoted team I think our stock as a club is sinking so low now
so it could all back fire on the man as all we will be able to entice to come is over paid mercenaries

Yes mindshaft, I’m with you on this one.

With the addition of two words, one of Ed’s sentences nears the reality – Newcastle SAY THEY are waiting for the summer to see what the new situation turns out to be, and it could well be that a top coach, currently not available, is available.

I’ve no doubt that Carver’ll be appointed as Head Coach even if we finish below tenth spot.

Charnley’ll probably spin out words to say that Carver’s done his best under extremely difficult circumstances and the Club will support him by strengthening the squad.

And there we’ll be in a years time, fighting relegation!

Have to agree with most of the comments, it looks like it’s either Carver or Garde.

Outside bet on McLaren or Tuchel.

    it won’t be De Boer.

beermonkey – if we had not spoken to Garde, he would have been able to say so. Generally if a manager is quizzed about a job they have been linked with, they will say they have not had any contact with the club.

Garde said “No comment regarding Newcastle. I cannot say anything today.”

Which sounds like he has been gagged.

Every other manager linked with the job has made their position quite clear.

Unless MA believes Carver can keep the club mid table next year, assuming we are not relegated this year, than we can expect a new coach. It is about money and Carver is unproven as a manager who can lead a mid table club for a season. Don’t think MA would take that much risk with his money.

Id love to believe your theory but it would mean carver was equally in the dark about it.
he is making noises that he wants the job so it doesn’t make sense but as you say we will be that last to know.
If it is the case you’d hope he is already planning/and giving indications of players he wants brought in etc but hey this is nufc and we know who runs things in the big top these days

The main thing that sways me towards Garde is his ability to
improve young players & bring them through to the first team. They could also keep Carver to work under him which saves paying any compensation.Really only replacing Pardew with a proper coach… upheaval.

Believe Garde would want a few of his old Lyon coaches to come with him.

If we do get Garde, then the Lacazette, Grenier and Gouffran rumours will sprial out of control. Ed won’t be able to keep up.

Gonalons would be a good addition too.

More evidence of the good work Tuchel did in terms of getting the best out of the players he had at Mainz.

The main who took over from him has just been sacked.

I’m suprised none of the big clubs have been linked with Geis, good solid centre midfielder.

    Nutmeg ,
Good points on garde would be a step in the right direction,
but I think for it to work he will want his own coaching team /set up etc .
not sure where this leaves carver and stone etc.
That link you posted .. interesting but you have to remember its Mark Douglas who seems to toe the club line these days so take what ever he writes with a large pinch I did giggle where he stated that the regime at nufc felt so far carver had done a good job of ‘steadying the ship” Lets hope John isn’t below decks eating his greggs selection when icebergs are spotted:)

Club will have decided on a coach back in January! Guarenteed! Question is, has it not been announced as the chosen man is with another club (McLaren) and it would derail their season?! Or it is John Carver but they won’t announce it till the last home game to avoid season ticket renewals dropping and the bad publicity of a geordie backlash!
Our board know our fans! Same happened last season with Pardew! They’ll announce Carver and in the 3 months till next season they’ll know we’ll be just so excited to see football again we’ll back the club! Also a few decent transfers will completely over shadow any appointment! (Thinking Ayew and Ings)
Add some keith Bishop spin and Tim Krul and Stevie Taylor interviews talking about the exciting new things JC is doing and 75% of fans will be as excited and as ready to part with their own hard own as usual.

    One fine day.

I think with the group of players at Palace they will do OK. They are the type of players both can work with, which is why both have been pretty poor in charge of our club. I don’t think they need compo, didn’t they all sign short term deals to have their role changed after Pards left? I may be wrong like.

I would rule out Tuchel or Garde! Club would have announced it already as would have improved season ticket sales and they are not currently managing so wouldn’t have effected other clubs!

Be excited if it was Garde! A guy that has clear philosophy of both how football should be played and how a club should stand in the community! He works with a club from top to bottom!
A whole new coaching staff would be good too. Club needs a change!
Garde is actually used to working under a hierarchy that sells more and spends less than even ours!
Not sure we’d shoot up the league but garde would at least bring direction!
Downside is if he did well we’d just be keeping him warm for Arsenal….
Like his fashion style too and hes charming in interviews! A lot of class similar to mancini! Pardews slimey nature irritated the hell out of me

@onefineday – i’d have taken Shola as interim coach over Carver! Met shola once and seen him interviews! Seems an educated, intelligent thoughtful guy!
For me Carver seems like someone who is very effective at being shown stuff by others and repeating it. As seen in his high regard as a coach. Not sure hes got the intelligence for strategy on a battlefield or out thinking an opponent.
I would have even taken another Shearer spell over Carver! Don’t believe 8 games with that low morale chancer squad of journeyman on a last pay day is enough to judge anyone!
If memory serves me Shearer had the guts to play a 19 year old carroll with only a couple sub apps over Michael Owen, Mark Viduka and Obafemi Martins..

if this is true why didn’t we keep him here putting him through his badges and send him of to places like man u and barca sll seem to welcome new coaches there to see how things are done

@one fine day – yeah would surprise me if they appointed a manager with sell on potential and a succesful Garde has Wenger successor written all over him.
Personally i think Klopp is obtainable with investment after the season hes having.
Tuchel not so much sell on value as tho well respected he has no experience in elite competition.
De Boer – huge sell on value but will possibly already attract Barca in the summer.
Karanka also has a pedigree name and has shown hes going to earn his success the hard way.
Said a few times, the manager I like is PSV’s Philp Cocu.
Would also be happy with a potential manager cutting their teeth as an assistant providing they have leadership qualities. Bergkamp at Ajax seems in this mould.
