Is This Newcastle’s Best Team For Manchester City?

Newcastle have suffered some injuries and setbacks this week and last,  since we played at Crystal Palace, and the Newcastle squad is now depleted for the rest of the season.

Fab Coloccini – one of only two center-backs available

A knee injury to Paul Dummett will probably keep him out for the rest of the season, and it seems Curtis Good has gone back to square one with his hip injury after almost a year out, and he is having surgery on it in Colorado, and he will not play again this season.

No official word on Cheick Tiote as yet, other than he will be out at least as long as Paul Dummett, which is said to be (at least) 10 to 12 weeks.

And with Siem de Jong’s collapsed lung last week, Newcastle’s squad for the rest of the season has suddenly become ravaged – especially in defense.

The defense for Saturday is easy to pick – these five players are the only ones we have fit at the moment

Krul Janmaat Williamson Coloccini Haidara

As for the other players, Remy Cabella is not fit for the game tomorrow, but he’s expected only yo be out for one game so Newcastle’s team for City on Saturday could be the following.

Krul
Janmaat Williamson Coloccini (c) Haidara
Colback Abeid Sissoko
Obertan Cisse Perez
Subs: Woodman Taylor (R) Gouffran Anita Ameobi  Armstrong Riviere

We’d like to see Mehdi Abeid get a start tomorrow, and the French Algerian played well in the 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium in late October in the League Cup, although John Carver may still prefer Vurnon Anita.

John could also find room in the starting line-up for Yoan Gouffran, who is usually played in tough away games – and this is a tough away game against the Premier League Champions.

What would your team be for Saturday’s game?

Anything out of this game would be a bonus, and with all the injuries Newcastle picked up we could do with a point.

We just hope Newcastle don’t pick up any more injuries in this game. 🙁

I’d leave Perez out this week. He seems to be running a bit on fumes now. I’d prefer to see him come on off the bench, if he plays at all. Save him to have a crack at Villa next week.

I’d start either Goofy or Riviere on the left, offering support to Cisse in the box when Ober has the ball.

I’d definitely want to see Abeid start, not too fussed which of Anita, Colback or Sissoko misses out, although the likelihood would be Anita gets the chop.

Forgot about Sammi, he could take that left sided role as well.

I watched the Abdulrahman video last which was posted. What great skills the lad has. He showed some nice vision of passing too, some lovely weighted balls, and good one touch stuff. I really enjoyed watching it.

This is probably the weakest squad we have ever had available in the Premier League era. What a disgrace this club has become.

We are tempting fate with this management/ownership.

I honestly worry that against City or Liverpool away we may have a thumping…..

You cannot keep getting away with it
Could you imagine if we had Krul injured again…Colo or Willi sent off….

We could really get a big defeat and ash will only then realise the successful clubs know what they are doing and he is an idiot.

Problem is we have to live with the demoralising scoreline. ….

They are playing fantasy football for real without spending a penny !

Carver reckons we are fine as Raylor and Anita can cover the fullbacks and janmaat can cover the centre-half position and that’s why reinforcements weren’t brought in but then goes on to say a couple of more injuries and we’re right in the brown stuff.

What a load of fcuking shite! That’s not “having options” that’s makeshift at best using players who aren’t specialists in the specific positions especially defensive ones.

What planet is the lickarse on? Another example of saying he’ll put up with ANYTHING to get the job and make excuses for the dictatorship. Have you NO shame john? Obviously not!

    I’m a geordie meeee.

Boils my fcuking piss the twat.

At least we can now say for sure that Ashley’s motive for owning the club is purely greed. Aided and abetted by the loathsome triumvirate of Charney, Carr and Ashley, any prospect of real success on the pitch has been completely abandoned. It’s become absolutely transparent. It’s just about the money, for all of them. Ashley and co. should now become the targets of our unrestrained anger, in whatever form that may take. This is war.

    Lr 32,
Have watched him now for a couple of years he had an great Asian cup should have got best player . To think a year ago we may have being able to try a sneaky bid but now I feel he will have the pic of European best. He would be the best signing since shearer.
A few Aussie pundits have the nerve to say he was a bit lazy and went missing wtf .
Even on a quiet game he touched the ball three times once was a defence splitting pass that went 50 yards and sun back across the striker the other two were assists .
Starting to really think this guy is the best I’ve seen in long time .
He simply does things you cannot coach .
I think lots of kids have that talent but going through our academy’s I think that real flair and the ability is often coached out of them such is the pressure to get results now .
Maybe we will see him at st james one day but sadly not in the right kit

Have just been looking at Lawros predictions for Sat. and he thinks the score will be 3- 0 to citeh. I think he means at half time and not full time.

Aarons is fit (ish) so I’d put him in against his favourite team 🙂

    TK
    Back Four
    Abeid
    Raylor Colback
    Sissoko
    Aarons
    Cisse
