Carver – Sky Sports Interview – We Made Poor Start – Video

Here is John Carver’s Sky Sports interview after the devastating 5-0 defeat at Manchester City today when we dropped 4 points behind Stoke, who are in 10th place. It’s now going to be very difficult to get into the top 10 this season – certainly if this game is anything to go by.

It was a horrendous display by Newcastle today and you can tell immediately by John Carver’s face he was devastated – and so he should be.

So here’s what caretaker manager John Carver said about it.

Apologies for the repost, Ed’s obviously as annoyed as us…

Mister T….I don’t believe the players are that poor, but the TEAM is. They are either being badly coached, or effected by the apathy in the club….I don’t know. Too annoyed to think straight.
The simplest conclusion I came to in the second half, was that the lads looked unhappy!
Unhappy at the performance, what they were asked to do, that they are stuck at a dead end club, with no ambition or direction.

    GOON EXPOSED.
I see some of the posters on here have been descibed as goons. That is really not very polite at all.
I think the real goon need to look in the mirror.

You know how you can have premonitions sometimes.
I see Pulis taking all the points from the Stadium of Shyte and us coming away from the Etihad with something – a draw would be lush.”

Wrong on both fronts. If you get your premonitions from reading the tea leaves could I suggest you change brands to PG Tips. In the meantime clear off to the Ladies Wrestling Forum – please.

Pretty honest response there from JC. however, the crux is that he is part of the the problem now. He may be be too close to what’s actually wrong to be able to put it right.

Carver told the back 4 how to play and it was shocking. We need to be relegated to get rid of Ashley.

clinath@ed -fair point I suppose about individuals but they as individual parts of a team are not playing as a team – could be the coaching or more possibly not buying the players we really need -meaning the correct pieces of the jigsaw.

He couldn’t even look the interviewer in the eye. He’s no head coach or manager. He’s a coach who has taken a chance and found himself out of his depth, I feel sorry for him because we would all do the same in his position.

The fact of the matter is though he’s not good enough, and he damn well knows it.

Never mind John, you’ve put a poster on the wall in the war room saying ” no blame, we’re all part of the problem”
    So what’s the solution ?

OK my optimism was wildly misplaced
Enjoy your time laughing at me
There are a lot of people who read this blog without revealing themselves and look at a guy like you and think …… ” mmm …. Toon fan …… I think not”

We need to get behind John Carver at this important time so that he keeps the job and brings better results next season. I trust in Geordie John Carver.

I don’t think he’s up to the job sadly. His game plan today was all wrong.
The pacey players who would have caused city problems where sat on the bench, and the fullbacks tucking in tight to the centre halves didn’t work at all. Haidara looked like he didn’t have a clue what he was meant to be doing. If that was worked on all week it was frankly embarrassing.

Typical result. Typical season. Nothing to look forward to. No goals in our team at all. JC, wouldn’t trust him with me washing, way out of his depth.

Outclassed? No John, it was a training match, that’s what happens when you give the players a f**king week off before facing the champions

Utter disgrace and although i didn’t think it possible more spineless than Pardew

Worst thing about today is genuinely the fact that I’m not even slightly angry/disappointed as it’s just business as usual

JC “we were out passed, we were out thought, We were outplayed”.

Surly it is Carvers job to make sure these things DO NOT happen, What the hell is he payed for, the same players beat this team at the Etihad FFS earlier this season.

It a simple case of his tactics do not work, they are not working against lesser teams. Time to hold your hands up John, you are not good enough and never will be.

If you really love the Toon, think of the club, and the supporters, and walk now before it’s too late.

On a more positive note one more win should see us to safety. Don’t think the likes of Villa and QPR are capable of getting to 35 points.

Even though we’ve got Mike Basset in charge I think we’ll be safe lol

John Carver has the pedigree to get us a top 6 position. A quality guy with total integrity who just needs our support. The club would be in a better place with more John Carvers.

The team was definitely set up to hold City. We had 6 across the back at regular times.
But being 2 down so quickly, why stick with it?
At one stage, Janmaat (?) brought the ball forward at speed, only to stop two third down the pitch, pass the ball sideways and retreat back into position. What exactly were we defending at this stage??
Anyone who knows the TOON fans should realise they’d get more respect going down attacking, rather than sitting back and going out like whimps!

One thing we must not forget is when the team play 5 a side in training – defence against forwards, its one crap lot against another so they will think they are brilliant.

Krul has reverted to hoofing the ball up field, pointless and just let Citeh start another attack. Basic errors cost us today and now we have a goal difference of -11. We’ll be lucky to beat WBA at home to be honest.

The great news is that our players today will be doubling their wages in a couple of years after the SKY deal. They will be able to play utter crap and not even try and earn 100K a week. Am I going to the SJP coffin to pay my homage to them? Bring on the 52K lemmings who seem to have little regard for the heritage of the club.

Fcuk mate and I thought I was drunk, but I got the gist of it,
but it makes sense that some fans will still hand over hard earned cash to see a team that really just don’t give a Fcuk.

You buy a shirt, stick a name on it and for what exactly?

You pay your money for a ticket and get what?

If I went to greggs and asked for a steak slice and was given a cheese pasty I would want my money back.

If I go to a footy match and only one team turns up, I would expect the same, MONEY BACK!

Carvers getting a lot of grief…he’s not a manager at the end of the day he’s just got the job because no one wanted it or Ashley didn’t want to give it to anyone

Season ended when we became safe as it does every year, players know it they are happy to limp towards the finish line then hope they can get a move away

Plus tbf we are always a joke after warm weather training and city are the possibly the best team in the league

We are a poor team with no manager and an absent owner, not sure what people are expecting anymore

Breaking news, Mike Ashley has just bought Greggs and is planning to fu@k around with the fillings to piss the Toon off just a little more. Bigg Market to be renamed Ashley Square, Tyne bridge replaced with a over sized discounted Sports Direct logo’d tennis ball – soon he will probably change our strip to red and white and still there will be those buying season tickets and filling Jabba’s pockets

The players don’t look happy though, not judging by today’s performance.
We cannot keep expecting these lads to pick themselves up at the start of every season, when they know there will be nothing to fight for after Christmas.
