Poll – Can Newcastle Beat Villa On Saturday?

It would be a great time for Newcastle to get their second win under head coach John Carver in his first nine games in charge of the team on Saturday against Aston Villa.

John Carver – needs a win on Saturday

After last Saturday’s 5-0 walloping at the Etihad Stadium, which we are trying to (quickly) forget, the very best result in front of the home fans on Saturday would be a win against second bottom Aston Villa.

Villa are finding it hard to score goals in general this season, but even more so away from home and have scored four goals in their 13 games on the road in the league this season.

A win is the perfect result for us – and it’s one of those games where the performance is probably secondary.

But we’d love to see Newcastle show some good form against struggling Aston Villa and also get all three points.

Note – we had 6 inches of snow here in Raleigh overnight and a couple of my Leyland Cypress trees are down – the electricity and therefore the internet are up and down – so I’ll get some reports out as best I can today.

I noticed there was no news about Cabella’s injury – has anybody heard anything about him because he could be important on Saturday?

Can’ trust cupressocyparis leylandii Ed, especially if you haven’t managed them properly Tsk tsk! If you let them overgrow they are already heavy in foliage and weak of root so a breath of wind or bit of snow and there goes your greenhouse. Serves you right 🙂

Given that Carver announced the recall of a 17 year-old winger and that of a player apparently not fit to look at two days ago, I would have thought the obvious follow-up question for those present was, ‘what’s happening with Cabella?”

    6 points = relegation?

A win against Villa will at least get us back up to a point a game. I have a feeling JC would like to move Sissoko back into a DM position like at C.Palace, which would be courageous but a little fool hardy. However supported by Obertan and Sammy they may cause some problems and will be a robust team during set pieces.

Tsunki @2 – it does not matter how much time they spend at the training ground they never improve.
