Is This Newcastle’s Strongest Side Against Aston Villa?

Newcastle have Cheick Tiote out for the rest of the season with that knee injury, and the news this morning was that he has had an operation on it in Qatar, and John Carver thinks he will be out for the rest of the season.

Jonas-Gutierrez 5

Jonas Gutierrez – on the bench tomorrow?

Jack Colback also managed to get himself suspended last Saturday at the Emirates when he picked up his 10th yellow card of the season, so he’s out too.

But John Carver has included 31 year-old Jonas Gutierrez in the squad and John said yesterday it’s completely up to him whether he plays Jonas or not – and the Board are not telling him who to play.

We expect to see Jonas on the bench tomorrow, and it would be great if he gets some playing time, after his brave fight against testicular cancer.

Vurnon Anita had a very poor game last week at the Etihad Stadium,  and gave the penalty away after only 28 seconds, and he was withdrawn at half time, so Vurnon will certainly not be starting tomorrow.

And with Jack also out, we have a feeling that Ryan Taylor and Mehdi Abeid will start tomorrow, and both have played well this season when they have been in the first team.

Update – we have seen that Remy Cabella is not fit after missing the game last week at Manchester City and he’s doubtful for the game against Manchester United on Wednesday too.

So this is the team we think John Carver could start tomorrow in an attacking 4-3-3 formation, and the defense picks itself because they are the only five experienced defenders we still have fit – even though they didn’t play well last Saturday.

Janmaat Williamson Coloccini (c) Haidara
Taylor(R) Sissoko Abeid

What would your team be for tomorrow?

And we’re a little surprised the confidence is not too high that we can win this game tomorrow.

Apparently at the Brits , Tim Krul stood back and allowed One Direction access to the Gents before him
The second time he’s let 5 past him this week.

Jonas’s presence on the Park’ll be greeted positively by the crowd, get it off Carver’s back, show him to be in charge of selection and show the board in good light.

    Cynical? Me? Naah, never!

Please lads bring the banners out; it’s time to run this piece of Sunderland (shite see what I did there, clever I know thankeypunch very much) outta the toon: we are safe so wether or not the protests affect the players doesnt matter. With the way we have been playing maybe it will piss them off and they might play a bit of football in their anger. Either way with nothing to play for again with 10 or so games to go it’s time to run the whole lot of scum outta our club..:: please toon army it’s now or never

As far as carver goes I don’t blame him at all for this. Sir Alex could manage this club and the 7 fit players we have and not do much better. Save your anger at carver and point it at Ashley and let’s send him north to rangers asap

I can never feel sorry for Carver, and will never cut him any slack. He wanted this more than anything else, and now he has it; it’s time for him to prove why he should have the job.

So far he has failed on all account, especially when he opens his mouth.

I agree Ashley should always be the target of fans discontent, but lets not let Carver off the hook, he is complicit with Ashley and the boards demands, more so than the inept one ever was.
