How Fans Think The Game Will Go Against Villa – Poll Results

Newcastle are playing the second bottom side Aston Villa this afternoon, and usually we would have a sizable ratio of fans thinking we can win this game.

aston villa

For our home game against Crystal Palace on 30th August, 70% thought we would win the game, and when we played Hull City at home on  20th September, 66% of fans thought we would win the game.

As it turns out we drew both games, but today only 40% think we can win the game, and maybe that’s because of various reasons.

Aston Villa are not a bad side and have only recently been taken  over by Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham manager.

And Newcastle have also been struggling with John Carver in charge, and we have only 6 points from the seven league games John has been in charge of the side.

And we are coming off a 5-0 hammering at the Etihad Stadium in what was maybe our worst display of the season.

How Will Newcastle Fare Against Aston Villa?

We really need to get all three points today.

Another defeat would be really hard to take.

What do you think?

Ed…how can it come as a surprise that JC might / most likely will stay on as Head Coach?

…that is what we have been saying all along.

I would be surprised if someone like Garde got appointed.

We can only hope JC either turns out to be a genius or that he screws up so big that they will can him.

This game will be a vert tough. Sherwood will have villa all guns blazing, if we start slow like normal and make sloppy mistakes we could be in trouble.

If we play to our potential then we can get the 3 points. Think today the first 20 minutes will be vital, contain them or score on the counter and we can get 3 points.

Both teams are ragged in defence and ineffectual in midfield, but have half decent forwards, so goals in this game. Maybe a 2-2 draw or if the ‘Sherwood Effect’ kicks in 2-1 to Villa. If the latter, our season is on a mudslide.

    Wow,
Looking at recent posts, the fans (all of us almost) have worked ourselves up to a frenzy of negativity.

You know the cure. 2 results. Sounness was good for FA but he got that one right. 2 losses and NUFC are in crisis.

The dross football isn’t helping much either. Ah, Pardew, you have left a legacy (boring football), the new coacjh should put that right. This squad ain’t as bad as some make it to be. Surely.

Was talking to another team supporter – no, we don’t like that team 🙂 and his assessment of NUFC was that we are a couple top players away from being very good. I agree: one goal getter, one leader. Done.

I said 5-0 last week and was correct. I’m going 1-0 to villa this week.
I just reckon they’ll want it more than us.

This bollocks Carver is talking better be just that. There is surely no way they are considering him for the job.

A win is needed desperately today. I don’t care if we scrape by with shite football, and win by an own goal. We need the 3 points today. That’s all we can hope for as long as the season goes on. I’m praying for Ashley to sell up once this nightmare season is over. That’s the only way this club will move forward.

Frank DB didn’t get any offer from NUFC, it does not mean there was no communication but is very dubious. I wonder how many ST were purchased on the back of that one.

Yet again, no professional business practice being shown by the club, just smoke and mirrors. I am intending to stand outside the stadium for approx. 15 minutes at the beginning of the game today.

This is what I don’t understand if the club want a coach to develop academy graduates and cheap foreign players then what is the logic in carver? He’s done nothing to prove himself of developing players or getting the best out of them bar cabella (he’s hardly played to the very best of his abolity yet)

Surely it would make sense to look for a coach who has evidence of developing youth players which screams Garde, Tuchel etc.

Let’s hope that the three years Carver’s tw@tting on about is the remainder of his coaching contract and that he’s fantasising about the HC job.

We can but live in hope that Ashley sees sense and dumps him.

    However, it is Ashley!

Inevitably some conversation took place. “If you achieve target X with this team, we will look at a long term contract.” We don’t know how ambitious X was (top half?) and we don’t know how firm the we-will-look-at offer was. I don’t blame Carver for talking it up, but I can’t see him achieving any meaningful target, and I think JC should remember that a verbal understanding is only as binding as the paper it’s written on. I don’t think Carver (barring miraculous talents emerging which he has not demonstrated in his 20 odd years association with the club) was ever part of the plan: remember Roeder and Hughton. There will be a more glamorous appointment. (Beyoncé? Shakira? I can dream…) Very likely Garde, reading between the lines.

Marcelo Bielsa is set to leave Marseilles at the end of season. And they are targeting Christopher Galtier, one of our Target. So we could miss out Galtier too. That will leave us to choose between Garde and Tuchel.I ‘d love Tuchel to manage our club but can’t see that happening because most German coaches don’t want to leave their country these days as their league is getting better & better. That will make Remi Garde strong favorite to take the hot seat.
I still hope we’ll end up with continental!!

What a lot of people fail to understand is JC has minimal contact with Ashley.
He is basically do a job interview over 5 months through the media .
Like any job interview , (we’ve all done it ) lack of results , be it in qualifying exams , experience , or football matches .is made up for by bullshit.
God knows the amount of interviews I’ve bullshitted my way through.
As cyprus says , a couple of wins , and the 50000 faithful will be purring like pussycats ,
