Man United Star – We’ve Always Found It Tough At Newcastle

The Newcastle performance wasn’t great yesterday but it’s hard to fault the fight of the Newcastle United players and with 3 points against Aston Villa, that will give our players the confidence to go on and try to get a good result against Manchester United on Wednesday night at home.

Ashley Young – we always find it tough up there

What we cannot have is another capitulation against a Manchester club,  that happened at the Etihad Stadium eight days ago.

I watched the whole of yesterday’s game again today, and a number of players for Newcastle were very steady – Mehdi Abeid and Ryan Taylor looked good, as well as players like Tim Krul, Daryl Janmaat (what a player he’s becoming), Moussa Sissoko, Gabby Obertan and yes of course – Papiss Cisse – who scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season.

Many Riviere wasn’t too bad either, but he needs a goal to get his confidence back – and he’s a much better player than he’s shown us so far this season.

So if the lads can gain that little bit of confidence, then  hopefully we can give Manchester United a good game, and they are not the side they once were in the heady years under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ashley Young has also come out and said the Red Devils always find it difficult at Newcastle:

“I think it’s the United way – picking up points after the turn of the year” “We know it’s going to be a tough game on Wednesday away to Newcastle – we’ve always found it tough up there,”

“As long as we can play in the way we did against Sunderland and add to that, then I’m sure we can go on and get three points,”

That comment will (or at least should) inspire our lads that we can get a good result against Manchester United on Wednesday night.

A point would be good and another win would be fantastic.

What do you think?

I agree Ashley it’ll be tough for 20 minutes and then you’ll bang 3 in job done Tara luvs.

Can’t see us getting our ‘hard fought’ and ‘ brave ‘ single point out of this one. Unless their bus breaks down on the a66.

Kind of hoping that the win gives us confidence to get right into Man Utd they are not good this season just have great strikers who can punish you

We should go 442 again as we looked a lot more compact and solid which when we play those continental formations there seems to be gaps everywhere because our coaches cant get the system to work

Ed – how much do you get paid to feature an ad that tells us how to “cleanse your colon and shed 2 pounds of waste products in 5 days”? With before and after pics as well? I’m almost starting to miss the old ‘date some old slapper 3 miles away’ ads.

    Eurrrgghhh.

It’s a hard one to call. On the one side you hand a £300 million squad full of quality being driven by one of Europe’s top coaches and desperate to finish in the top 4. On the other side you have an injury ravaged squad full of journeymen pros led by a hopeless coach whose sole motivation is to finish
“As high as we can” and not get embarrassed by big defeats.

Ashley, you have stripped us of our dignity! Oh and we are all expected to buy and wear shirts with “WONGA” advertised on the front just to add insult to injury!

We are a laughing stock ! Even the commentators feel sorry for us!
