Reports Newcastle Are In For Top Free Agent

Newcastle have been linked with Ghana International winger Andre Ayew for over two years now, and he will become a free agent in the summer, and there have been reports in Italy that Newcastle are now keenly interested in the player, with Inter-Milan having made a move for Andre.

Andre Ayew – Newcastle have been interested for two years

Andre was on target last night for Marseilles in the 78th minute in their 6-1 hammering of Toulouse away, but PSG’s 4-1 home win today put the Paris side at the top of the French League on 56 points, 3 points above Marseilles in 3rd place and 2 points above Lyon in 2nd place.

Reports coming out of Italy are that Newcastle are back in for Ayew, but they will have Inter-Milan to compete with and some other big clubs have also expressed an interest in signing the goals-scoring winger this summer.

The 25 year-old winger/striker would be an excellent acquisition for Newcastle if we can get him, and we know the club likes to go after talented free agents – because they are cheap – sorry – that should be – because they are good value for money. 😀

But free agents are no longer “free” these days and enticements such as signing-on fees and high wages are used to attract some of the top free agents.

The news on who Andre will sign for is likely to be a long drawn out affair over the next few months, and that’s been true of many Newcastle transfer targets, even when we are successful.

Marseilles are still holding out hope of signing Andre to a new deal to keep him in the south of France, and that’s a possibility – although he would be a great signing for Newcastle and in the past he has said it his dream to play in the English Premier League.

This season the 62 times capped Ghana International has scored 7 goals in 21 games for Marseilles.

We hope we can get this lad to Tyneside.

“The board would look for an individual who would fit into the club’s structure, someone who is tactically astute, and who has a track record of developing young players and the ability to improve players.”

Carver out of the running then!

he does fit the club structure ( being cheap ) but

    1. he doesn’t have a track record of developing young players.

    2. he isn’t tactically astute.

    3. he doesn’t have the ability to improve players.

Bring Ayew and his brother over, top player he is and he can play in many positions and we all should know by now that NUFC like versatile players to play in many positions.

I don’t think JC would take the job if I’m honest, he suppose to have passion for NUFC but to have 80% fans against him like the Pardew era I don’t think he would risk his reputation.

I have a funny feeling that he will manage the under 21’s or become a coach for the first team

Nezza, I hope you’re right, I reaally don’t want to see him in the role, but he fits the single most important criteria – He’s Cheap, He does what he’s told, He wont make a fuss!!

Garde, Terchel could do a far better job, but will probably require their own back-room staff – that costs money and FCB does not like spending money, unless he really has to!! Fingures crossed I guess!!

it would be good but I think Ayew wages might scare of Newcastle, I think he’s on over 50k

isn’t Garde basically cheap as well? he is free after all, but that’s why I stated JC to be a coach or under 21 manager because I believe he also has a 8 year contract as which MA won’t want to pay his compensation so the best option is to demote him and I don’t think Carver would want to leave considering I don’t think any team would want him.

But then again I never expected Palace to go for Pardew, I thought once Pardew is gone no other team would grab him, it’s a funny world isn’t it lol

I honestly think Carver will get the job full time. he’ll be just like Pardew and be told to say he’s happy with the squad, and like pards he’ll give a speech on how happy he is. Also how great full he is to Mike.
    All arse licking.

I think Carver, Stone and Woodman are on a 8 year contract along with GC but I might be wrong though.

we have small staff so maybe these 3 can stay in the under 21’s?

it might work for both parties, MA would have to pay to get the head coach own staff in but with the money from Pardew could cover it, along with the 2 years TV money, profits from players sales and the countless transfers windows we saved up 😉

I think the only way he wont get it if he loses every match between here and the end of the season
and even that might not seal his fate as they can play the injuries card

Carver et al will only have four years at most left of their eight year contracts. They’ll not be on big wages and paying their contracts up wouldn’t cost a lot.

Just read that Spurs are in for Ayew as well so I’d say that pretty much writes off any chance of us signing him if it’s true.

He’s probably going to have to move on for his own career’s sake if we’ve got Darlow coming in at the end of the season.
