Can Newcastle Get Anything Out Of The Arsenal Game?

Our readers were fairly accurate on the result at Everton last Sunday, when 48% in our poll thought we would lose the game and we were walloped 3-0.

Newcastle take on Arsenal at home on Saturday, and of course we are in worse shape than we were on Sunday after Fabricio Coloccini got himself sent off in the second half for a wild tackle on Aaron Lennon, and now he misses the next three games.

In this fixture in the last couple of seasons we’ve lost the game 1-0, and in the season before that it was a 1-1 draw, so we can usually keep things tight at home against Arsenal.

We should get an injury update today from John Carver in his press conference, and having lost three of our last four games we need some points to get to those 40 points for the season.

    Repost.

Hasn’t sissoko been handed the armband in the past, under the king I think it was. The only armband colo should be handed is of the swimming variety as he’s not been the same since he wanted out in 12/13. Should of been stripped of it then. Sissoko or Jonas will probably be captain at the weekend. Doesn’t really matter though as we’ll still get tonked, unless of course we up our game, string more than two passes together or shearer dusts off his boots.

There’s not always a winner on the lottery so the person picking a toon win is likely to be out of luck.

Has there ever been a home game with a higher “lose” vote? Unlikely I’d think, but of course well deserved. Has a Newcastle team ever gone into a home game with supporters feeling more sickened about the state of the club than they do now? Has…oh forget it..we all know…

Even at the best of times, I wouldn’t expect much more than a draw, however, with this team I expect a good hiding from Arsenal.
This will be followed by the usual comments from Charva and some squad members about needing to do better. We won’t though, we’ll probably not get more tha two points between now and the end of the season.
