Poll – Who Was Newcastle’s Best Player Against Arsenal?

It was a pleasant surprise in the second half after the game had looked lost at half time,  when we were two goals down due to a brace from Olivier Giroud.

A worried Arsene Wenger and Arsenal bench in the second half this afternoon

But a great spirited comeback from Newcastle made the game very interesting and exciting in that second half, and we were good enough to get a draw after Moussa Sissoko had scored for Newcastle after 49 minutes – but that equalizing goal just wouldn’t come.

Very difficult to choose, but for the right reason this time.

    janmaat
    Easy
Comeback aside Carver is a clown in my opinion
Gouffran had no business playing defensive midfield

    Cabella or Janmaat.
Janmaat was a revelation at centreback!
Williamson still had a shocker mind…

Pleased it wasn’t the hammering which I predicted.Terrific effort in the second half, desire, commitment, determination call it what you will with a lot of skill to go with it. Blew my prediction out of the water.Good to see Sammy lasting 88 mins & Cabella showing what a good player he can be.Overall a big improvement on past performances but, it must continue.

Another case of the good players playing good and the bad players playing bad.

Actually felt Janmaat was awesome at centre back and in a way it tightened up our right hand side as when is playing fullback he goes forward and it does leave huge gaps but Raylor is a bit more disciplined

Gouffran though really dont get why we are playing him in the centre of midfield ?? Cabella and Perez together I think could be dynamite if given a run in the team playing side by side they have not had that much game time as Cabella has been out the side

Would start Jonas on the right wing in the derby he looks super fit and has his pace back as well

It was Perez for me. He ran his socks off, tried to find space, but was nullified by our usual tactic of playing the high ball upto him with his back to goal. Meat and drink to the Arsenal back four.
No-one tried playing the ball to him on the deck and letting him outrun their defenders.

If we play to his strengths he will score for fun, if not he’ll struggle and be keen to leave for another club that will bring out his talents.

I doubt that Carver is the man to bring out the best in our younger players. That means Mr Ashley will not get the full value from their sale. Will this be enough to convince him that we need a proper coach?

Great second half performance with great spirit and commitment! Now let’s have some from the owner as well!
