Magpies After Forward Who Dreams Of Newcastle

TMV are reporting in Italy that Newcastle are interested in signing Hull City forward Abel Hernandez, a player who said last year he was dreaming of playing for Newcastle United – well yes – he also mentioned two other clubs – Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

24 year-old 6’1″ Abel Hernandez – Uruguayan International

Newcastle were after Hernandez from January of last year, and at one point Abel said he had decided to stay at Palermo, but then he signed for Hull City for £10M in early September of last year.

Hernandez was one of the strikers we were after to replace Loic Remy last year, when the Frenchman wouldn’t sign on for us permanently, but Mike Ashley decided to bring in Manu Riviere from Monaco for £6M instead – maybe because he was cheaper than Hernendez?

However, Riviere has not been a success so far on Tyneside, although there’s still time for Emmanuel to come through – and we hope he does just that.

In February last year, when Abel had decided to stay at Palermo, this is what he told the Italian press:

“I decided to stay – I owed it to Palermo owner Maurizio Zamparini and the fans.” “In the future I dream of Newcastle United, Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.”

The 17 times capped Uruguayan international (8 goals) seems to want away from Hull City in the summer, and the Italian press is reporting Newcastle are interested in him, but maybe that’s because we were heavily linked with him over a year ago.

Hernandez had not been in the greatest of form for Hull this season, and he has also had some injuries and has scored only 4 goals in 21 appearances for the Tigers, who are just 3 points above the drop zone.

If Newcastle are interested we would assume Hull would want at least the £10M they paid Palermo for him last September, but since he has not really produced in the Premier League this season, we’d be surprised if Newcastle are still interested in him.

What do you think?

    On from the last post

Ignore him if it bothers you, personally I’m not so offended if someone on the internet calls me something. Just shows who they really are.

    Ignoring him is his kryptonite.

I would have more sympathy for those who call for Geoff to leave Blog if they were consistent – not that I accept he is killing blog. Still waiting for those same posters to remonstrate with Average for his appalling and puerile rant the other night and not his first either.

Armchair…it’s a bit like the “carrot and stick” approach…lately there has just been no carrot!

…combine that with trolls and certain bloggers looking for trouble and the result is a dying comment section!

I’ve noticed a huge decrease in the regular posters.

Coming on the blog after a day to see that each article has about 8 comments per.

    NUFC slowly sinking, blog first.

    Lol

The blog is a good indication of what’s going on in our fan base!

…sadly as it is we are not doing much to change it.

I read some inspiring words the other day about SD Supporter Direct and what they were trying to accomplish. NUST and the supporters trust from both Spurs and Man Utd were supporting their work.

My rant as you put it is borne from frustrating wums/trolls who’s sole intention is to cause disharmony on the blog – as Tuff pointed out. It may of been vile and contained profanity but and here’s the kicker, it was aimed at those that dish it out so before you decide to single me out for your up your own criticism might I suggest you turn your attention to the real culprits who not so long ago wished cancer would take the blogs creator on his final journey. No. Instead you berate the ones who don’t put up with THEIR trash.

Double standards. Especially since the main culprit has sounded out various profanities over a prolonged period of time and has only toned it down slightly due to being moderated (probably) yet you say zip, nadda, nothing to this individual.

    Well done you.

My first rant not so long ago was directed at a terrorist sympathiser who indicated that the innocent people in the Australian hostage situation deserved what they got and then proceeded to say they enjoyed stories of army personel getting tortured – yet again you said nothing. So climb down off your moral high horse and berate those too eh? Didn’t think so.

    Well done you again.
