Many Newcastle Players To Be Moved Out This Summer

The contracts of Sammy Ameobi, Ryan Taylor and Jonas Gutierrez run out this summer, and it’s a good bet that not one of them will get a new deal at the club.

Jonas Gutierrez – unlikely to get new deal

And in addition, Newcastle will be looking at those players whose contracts run out next summer, and they include two of our center-backs Steven Taylor and Mike Williamson.

Mike was very good last season and in fact was our Player of the Season, but he’s been less impressive this season and 30 he could be leaving.

Steven is out injured again, and in the last five years he’s picked up three or four bad injuries and in fact in that time has only played 71 times since picking up that bad knee injury in January, 2010 against West Brom in our promotion season.

So Newcastle don’t really get much productivity out of the Whitley Bay lad, which is one reason we think he will be sold in the summer.

And the other reason is that Williamson and Steven Taylor could be moved out for a fee this summer, rather than lose them for nothing next summer.

We’d love to see Ryan Taylor and Jonas get two year extensions to their contracts, but that probably will not happen.

And Jonas still seems to be really upset the way he was handled by Alan Pardew and told to look for another club 18 months ago when he was fighting cancer.

We don’t think Alan meant to be so insensitive, and he would have been told by the Newcastle brass to let Jonas know his contract would not be extended, but it’s very unfortunate what happened.

But life’s too short and fragile to hold grudges.

So sentiment will not come into play now and the Argentine a new deal, although his form has been excellent, and he’s got the spirit and the determination to succeed after winning his fight with cancer.

Sammy Ameobi will have a good career in football, but it will not be at Newcastle, and he’s just not consistent enough to earn a new deal.

Other players that could be moved out could include Vurnon Anita and Cheick Tiote, which is one reason probably that we are being linked with central midfielders at the moment.

So there’s seven players who Newcastle could move out this summer, and replace them with better and maybe younger players.

We certainly hope so.

I’m really really hoping we invest this summer properly. Charlie Austin would be my ideal striker signing, fits the classic Newcastle No.9 and with QPR dead certs fpr relegation I reckon we could get him for 7-10 mil.

Please don’t say QPR are dead certs for relegation
That would mean that Sunlan would survive – aarrghh !

Skrtel definitely banned for our match. Makes little different in my opinion as we’ll offer very little threat going forward if any. They on the other hand are looking very dangerous of late.

    AncientC from pervious post

the debt situation has 0 impact on our spending. Ashley is free to spend or NOT TO SPEND regardless of debt. The spending has to do with the money coming in. it does not matter where its allocated (his pocket vs outstanding debt to MASH)

I’d give Ryan Taylor an extension. He wont be on a huge wages so it wont break the bank. He is one of the only players we have who can put in a good shift almost anywhere on the park. He is certainly the only player we have the can reliably take a free kick.

Also Mike Williamson was not Player of the Season because he was good but because he tried his best when the rest of the squad could not give a stuff. It shows the Geordies are actually a very compassionate, patient and generous lot that we respect that someone has tried their best even though we all except his skill level is not up to scratch. Shows we are not looking for world beaters or to win the league but we do appreciate someone who gives their all.

I think Jonas and R Taylor both deserve extensions. They were both good in the Arsenal match.

Raylor connected very well with Cabella on the right hand side.

Sir Eric, both deserve extensions cos they were gud against arsenal !! They’ve bn here for years & had the odd ‘gud’ game, I actualy like Taylor but he’s bn unlucky with injuries. This club needs a gud clearout & fresh blood brought in, not sticking with the players who’ve bn here for far 2 long & done sweet fa apart from pick up wages.
