Newcastle Reported Watching Welsh Defender

There are reports today that Newcastle are keen on bringing Morgan Fox to Newcastle in the summer, and he plays for Charlton Athletic, and we reported yesterday that Newcastle were interested in Jordan Cousins and Joe Gomez, who are also at Charlton Athletic.

morgan fox

Morgan Fox – Charlton defender

Morgan spent last season on loan at Notts County, but this season the center-back – full back has played 25 times for the  Charlton first team and has a three year contract which runs out in two years time, so we’d need to pay a transfer fee for him.

The right footed player has played for the Welsh U21 side for the last couple of years, and it seems we are watching a number of young central defenders with a view to bringing a couple in over the summer months.

The 6′ tall defender can also play at full-back or in central defense, so he seems versatile enough.

Maybe we’ll be bringing in three Charlton youngsters this summer, but these reports could be caused by Newcastle scouts being seen at the Charlton games, and there being some conjecture as to which players we are really scouting.

Maybe.

What do you think?

I think BandB called this one right
These will be this Summer’s version of what happened with the Forest players last Summer

On the subject of Jonas I find myself agreeing with Jeff – I have read the article and I can’t really see what the problem was. The club gave him time off on full pay, he elected to go private and so pay for it himself as it was not a football related injury. When he came back there wasn’t a place in the team for him (most on here agreed with that) and so he went on loan to a manager he knew well. When he needed further treatment the club honoured his privacy and said nothing.

Need to start buying some senior experienced players, our scouting system was all when and good when we were getting Cabaye a Tiote style, 24 year olds with lots of first team experiance but still potential, but we’re aiming too low agewise in my opinion. This isn’t Fifa career, you can’t just buy young and throw them straight in the team.

Perez is a good example, think he’d be much better if he’d been eased in

Depending on summer recruitment it could be for the best to keep Jonas and Raylor for another season, they’re experienced players with a lot of determination and a bit of leadership! Obviously depends on who if anyone, we bring in during the summer. My opinion we need at least a RB (cover), CB, LW & ST.

From the current bunch I would expect a start XI for the first game of next season

    Krul
    Janmaat Colo Lascalles Dummet
    Sissoko Colback
    Cabella DeJong Aarons
    Cisse

Surely the coming season has got to be the last chance saloon for Ashley to show some ambition in who he brings in regarding HC and players. If positive changes are not forthcoming the fans have got to make there feelings known and not just take the crap given.

MA is not going to suddenly change his ways, he may get a couple of experienced players in to keep us in the premier league, but don’t expect a big revamp, profit will always come first.
SJP is always full so why over spend? He’s providing a service which is a football match for fans.
While the fans watch the game he gets SD advertised and rakes the sky money in.
    Everyone is happy!

I guess it was Graham Carr that scouted Perez, which makes the slagging he sometimes gets on here look a bit foolish.

Surely Williamson’s worth another year? He may not be a world-beater but he’s got a raft of Prem experience – a handy guy to have in the squad.

I think we all live in hope of better times at Nufc unfortunately I’m afraid mediocre is our future. Is there any evidence people want change? I haven’t seen any for a long time.

Jeff…I do think the stick Carr has received lately is off the mark.

Even on the “flops” we’ve signed, based on Carrs scouting, one does have to wonder where on his list these players featured. My guess (yes, a guess) is not high on the list.

Lesh…Given the needed clear out, I would agree that Willo is probably worth keeping in the squad a little longer. I think Colo needs shipping out now and if it’s a toss up between Willo or Saylor, I’d get rid of the latter for no other reason than Willo is available for more games during a season.

On the Jonas situation – I think that probably he altered his game to be more defensive on the directions of King Percy – in order to fit in with the Kings more defensive style and to protect the defence.
I wonder if his game as a whole therefore suffered as he followed Percys instructions?

It perhaps would have been nice if upon Jonas’ return, Percy would have invited him into the office, with a big welcome back and words such as -you’ve had a bad time recently -we as a club are here to support you as friends and colleagues if is there anything we can do for you -just ask.

It would however seem that no support or compassion was offered – just – you’d better piss off to another club.

What type of base morality is that. It is the same base mentality that some on here exhibit when they fail to see how the club erred massively and by implication revealed they do not care about people.

I’m all for Williamson being a fourth choice back up CB, it is down right negligence how he has been tasked as third and last choice with the 14 game a season STaylor as number two. The way this club operates boils my pi$$.

Tuff…I haven’t really read up enough on the handling of Jonas to comment. It’s clear that privcy was requested by Jonas and what happened after that is anyones guess.

Still, I do tend to lean towards the club not acting in the best way. Sadly, their actions in other matters have caused that.

As for the change in Jonas’ displays. That’s spot on. Due to an inadequate defense, Jonas became the filler.

Jail..Agreed. Ideally I’d want them all to be changed this summer, but I don’t see the club replacing all 3. How long does Colo have on his contract btw?

@11 – Well I’m not sure how genuine your comment is but he does have another year on his contract whereas the two I’ve mentioned are out of contract this summer 🙂

They do however have more to add to a game, particularly for set pieces or hold up play if we do manage to have the lead towards the end of a game

Ibiza – whatever happened it certainly appears to have not gone down well with Jonas – I think the outburst about his treatment (from a player who never complained) supports his poor treatment.

    Postman Pat aka Jeff.
What on earth has Jonas playing fullback at the behest of Maradonna got anything to do with my post.
You illustrate yet again your desire to cause annoyance and antagonise other posters with you usual guff.
Jonas has throughout his career been known as a winger from his Real Mallorca days to or as a midfielder.

Why don’t you leave our blog you cause nothing but dissent and when you’re pissed you come on here with your vile views and foul abuse straight from the gutter – you are a scumbag.

Maybe you see Willo as a Championship player but he’s got the Prem experience that Lascelles ain’t got. Saylor spends more time off the field rather than on it.

So, for an experienced squad player, I’d say Willo’s worth hanging on to for another year or two while Collo, well he’s set on going back to The Argentine.

Dummet, yup groom him as a CB to play alongside…. Errr who?

Jonas and Raylor are on high wages and there ability is below average so they either take a cut in wages or ship off.

I would keep Anita since he’s a good versatile player and hasn’t been player to his strengths yet but maybe Garde could change this but for me I would see off

Alnwick, Elliote, Collo, Willo, S/R Taylor, Obertan, Cisse these guys need to go IMO

How can you say Cisse needs to go? He’s our top scorer and we’d have to pay out 10-15mil for a striker that scores as consistently.

Colo has to be kept, I know there are some games where he seems reckless & uninterested but he is by far the best CB we have

Is it just to attack those posters who hold a strong but negative view towards the regime at Newcastle? Why are these posters “phoney”. If anything, you have constantly sided with “phoney” posters on the blog.

So do tell, what makes Tuff and other posters like him “phoney”?

Never a fan of Jonas, a defensive winger (isn’t that something of an oxymoron) and a very predictable player, who’s goals-coring feats are best kept silent.

Though there may be a certain amount of truth in what he claims, remembering Llambias’ drunken declaration,
paraphrased as (you don’t know how horrible we can be)
I think the management at this club are capable of being
ruthless, especially when it comes to money, though it ‘s claimed above Jonas paid his own medical expenses ?

As for Williamson, I just don’t understand why someone lacking most football skills, has been allowed to remain for so long.
The guy is slow as molasses, frequently goes to ground (meaning he’s been beaten) has yet to score from a header, though is sent forward for every corner, clueless as Tiote as to where to pass the ball, usually hoofs it either upfield or into the stands, makes Colo look bad because of his poor positional sense……..
Don’t sell him, give him away !

armchair – someone has to speak up about vile posts and abuse – it is not about biting back – just a desire to stop bigots spoiling the blog for a lot of folk.
Some folk choose to cross the road to avoid confrontation, look the other way or turn a blind eye/make on they didn’t see it. Not saying anything about bigots and scumbags support the accusation of complicity. Decent posters should tell these louts and scumbags who have descended onto the blog to clear off – may not have the desired purpose but it lets them see that the decent folk do not like their involvement.
