Newcastle Ready To Pay Out £15M For Top Young Striker

Newcastle need to bring in one or two top strikers this summer, and it looks like we’ve been interested in
20-year-old Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic of Anderlecht for a while now, and he’s had a great season scoring 20 goals in 38 total games for his Belgian club.

20-year-old striker Aleksandar Mitrovic of Anderlecht

There is a report in the Chronicle today that this lad – who doesn’t turn 21 until September – is Newcastle’s top striker target this summer, but we will have competition from bigger, more successful and more ambitious clubs than Newcastle for his signature.

And it will not help if we finish down in 14th position in the Premier League this season.

Newcastle have watched this player all season, and there were reports about him last September being a top Newcastle target, and certainly he’s had a great season, and has starred in the Champions League.

Aleksandar is a physical type of player with good skills and the 6’3″ striker is thought to have all the physical capabilities to be a big success in the Premier League.

Newcastle are down to the bare bones in almost every position at the moment, and if Newcastle are really serious on the Serbian they will have to cough up £15M for him.

That’s a lot of money – especially for Mike Ashley, but Aleksandar could also be a great investment, because he can still improve once he starts playing in the Premier League.

This is probably one of the players John Carver mentioned as one of the top players Newcastle are after this summer, but we wonder if that’s just a PR thing – to keep Newcastle fans happy?

Mike Ashley has never paid out £15M for any player in the eight years he’s been owner at Newcastle – and we know he likes to make money but he doesn’t like to spend money.

It’s a long shot at best, that Newcastle will be able to beat other top clubs to the signature of a player who is still very young and already very good.

He has played 10 times for Serbia with one goal and in the last two seasons in Belgium, he’s scored 36 goals in 76 total  appearances.

He would be a terrific signing – if we can get him.

What do you think?

Don’t think he’d cost 15mill, maybe 10 with a lot of add ons. But he’s the type of player we need, hope Charlie Austin and Ings are on our radar as well.

On Haidara, I was thinking Liam Gibson the u21’s left back could be worth a look but i believe he’s out injured too.

Anyone keeping tabs on who we are going to sign for next season.
must be up to 20 names featured on this blog so far.
Believe it when I see it
BUT – we need players – good/excellent players – for next season or we are in a relegation fight

Mitrovic will be sold at his current value, if not a little higher… that rules us out.

Mitroglou seems more up Ashley’s street, he would be available at a fairly big knock-down price to that which Fulham paid for him.

There is no way the fat slug would pay £15m for one player he won’t even spend £15m in the whole window, It will be more freebies and cheap players, Just like the other 8 seasons, No ambition at all but 50,000 will be there supporting the slug and throwing money at him next season

this lad along with bas dost would be perfect for us imo !
they may not look gracefull but they are proper no9’s who stay there and bully defences.

i doubt we will go for anyone as established and pricey though ! we will get harry humpadink from league 14 in the french league for 10p as andy carrol’s replacement 😉

The big test for the club this summer is whether they will shell out for a big striker (or manage to keep Cissé). Even a youngster like this may strain the club’s apparent wage ceiling policy, but strikers are expensive. I like the photo – has the stature and stance of a serious target man. We have several players (some currently underperforming) who could tuck in there to exploit the possession.

Mitrovic is ideal for Ashley, and the profit made by Swansea on Bony may just persuade him that loosening the purse strings for certain players is profitable. Young, talented, huge potential to improve. If they can persuade him to join and sign a 5 year deal like most of our signings then Ashley could make good money on him.

Mitrovic and Schaar/Papadopoulos (sp?) would be my first signings. Doubt we would have any chance with Schaar, but possibly would with the Greek lad.

I’m working on the assumption we will rake in c.£30 million plus Jan and will be willing to spend a similar amount as we did last summer.

Anyone seen Mitrovic? what kind of player is he?
Can’t see Ashley shelling out over 10m on one player… players from belgian league seem to accumulate value though:ie :fellaini, benteke, de bruyne, Lukaku
Not sure serbian forward players have the greatest adapting to the premier league record?Markovic hasn’t settled that well and i remember in recent years Tosic and Ljajic (2 great players) failing and before them Kezman though I suppose tadic has done well at southampton

I see Dick Advocaat thinks his experience of Old Firm games will help him with the Tyne Wear derby.
I don’t see it myself , Blyth Spartans v Whitley Bay has as much relevance

    Who cares?

When NUFC fans post on here about players not performing you call them neggars moaners plastic fans etc etc, but now you want us to listen to other fans doing the same?

Your the comedian not olive, what next a character assassination on another owner or poster?

Or you going to tell people to stop talking about Pardew or HBA then bring up Hughton and Barton.

15M on one player hahahahahahahah !! Bishop is hard at work

Even the people who go regardless can surely see this is yet another ploy to sell ST’s.

Sickening thing is we could have spent the 6M for Anita and 6M on Riviere on 1 really good player.

We need about 10 new players in the summer.

I think we should sign these players:

    Vn Dijk – £6m
    Mbodj – £5m
    Kolorov – £5m
    Grenier – £9m
    Ayew – Free
    Konoplyanka – Free
    Ings – Free
    Mitrovic – £11m

    Total = £36m

    Outgoing –

    Williamson – £1m
    Dummett – £1.5m
    Saylor – £2m
    Ameobi – £2m
    Obertan – £3m
    Gouffran – £3m
    Gutierrez – Free
    Riviere – £5m
    Tiote – £8m

    Total = £25.5m

    Net spend = £10.5m

Not a chance in hell will Newcastle United

    A) Pay £15 million for a player

    B) Sign someone who is being courted by some top European clubs

We will probably end up with someone like Danny Ings on a free if we are lucky, more than likely get that Vardy from Leicester who has 1 goal in 25 games.

Anyone who thinks we are going to spend any kind of money in the summer has lost the plot, a little bit like the fans turning up each week, paying money to watch a crap team who has a mediocre training coach for a manager who is stuck to the powers that be with no more nails by the looks of it.

If we spend 15m total on incoming players I’ll be shocked.
On one player!? Never while that evil, greedy, waste of a human is owning the club.
