Another Newcastle Defender Out For The Season

Newcastle left back Massadio Haidara has had knee surgery and will now be out for the season – and it adds to Newcastle’s terrible injuries for the season – and it also means we will have no senior recognised left back for the remaining 8 league games.

It also means that now Siem de Jong, Steven Taylor, Paul Dummett and Massadio Haidara are now out for the rest of the season.

The news has not been announced by Newcastle but there are reports coming out of France out that Massadio went back home to France to have the knee operation – and there are no details about what exactly was wrong with the knee and why surgery was necessary.

The surgery took place in Lyon.

This leaves Newcastle even more short of defenders and at the moment we have only one recognized senior center-back in Mike Williamson until Fabricio Coloccini returns from his three game suspension after two more games.

And it makes the loan deal, which has become permanent of Davide Santon to Inter-Milan look even more reckless by Newcastle’s upper management on the last day of the January transfer window.

What were they thinking about – well other than making money.

Massadio played 20 times for Newcastle this season, the most he has played in one season since he signed for us just over two years ago from Nancy,  and he’s played 40 times in total for the club.

He remains a very good prospect for the club and we can only hope that the problem he had with his knee will have been fixed by the surgery.

    so what is our teams strength… our back line.. our forwards… the midfield… keeper?

    id say keeper is probably the only section that doesn’t need an overhaul… we need players everywhere else… and 30 mil wont get us anything close to the quality and quantity we desperately need…

    I am none too concerned. We have one of the worst defences in the league anyway… what harm can it do to be forced to experiment with the back line. Who knows, they may actually stumble upon something that works.

    We are short in every area except for keeper as Darlow will be an upgrade on Elliot.

    Unlucky for Haidara, at times he’s looked decent but i think we need another left back.

    We don’t have any right back cover either.

    I’d like to see us bring in Mings from Ipswich and Bryam from Leeds.

    The Great Valerio
    Truth is, deep down, none of them gives a rat’s. Why should they? Nice run out through the week, back to their mansions and XBoxes. Have a crap 90 minutes. Quick interview and back home to the luxurious fortress with a big satisfied smile on the inside. Because they don’t have to care. Not really. Just look a bit sad and concerned for the fans occasionally. They’re well coached in that respect. Yes, it’s tedious, but it’s nothing new.

    You obviously never had dreams of being a footballer as a kid.

    They play football because they love to, money is just a nice side effect. You think when Ronaldo loses a game he goes and sits on Fifa?

    I questioned the sale of Santon back in January and now I am not just questioning it I am calling the club out for what they are…charlatans;

    …they cannot see connections and they take on fatale consequences without thinking it through. You don’t even make those calls with monopoly money;

    To quote Forest Gump Stupid is what stupid does ‘!

    It’s defo the cold weather up north that increases training injuries. That and our super hard training pitches.

    Sliema…try calling Tromsø up in Norway and see if they have the same problems with injuries?

    …I promise you compared to Tromsø it’s not cold in Newcastle 😉

    Lucky its only a knee injury. If it were testicular cancer he wouldn’t be wanted back.
