Good News For Newcastle

19 year-old winger Rolando Aarons has given Newcastle a boost before the derby game at Sunderland on Sunday, and he will go into full training this week – today in fact.

Rolando Aarons – back in training today

The last time we saw Rolando in a first team shirt at Newcastle was when he came on for the injured Gabby Obertan in the first half of the home game against Liverpool on November 1st, so he’s been out almost five months with hamstring problems.

Rolando has taken to his Twitter account to say that he would resume full time training today.

We just have to hope that all goes well this week, because he’s broken down twice since last November when he’s tried to come back from the hamstring problems that have ruined his season.

This would be a big boost for interim head coach John Carver before the important game at Sunderland.

The Back Cats haven’t won in six league games, but they’ve formed a habit of being able to beat Newcastle whatever their form has been in previous games, and they have beaten us the last four times – a record.

And that’s been when they have struggled with relegation, so we must not lose on Sunday.

Newcastle have called off any negotiations on Aarons’ new contract until the summer, and in the last week there have been many reports that some big clubs, like Arsenal as one example, would try to sign him this summer.

If he proves his fitness and his form when he comes back, we would hope that Newcastle could maybe do a deal with him sooner than the summer.

This is one of the players we don’t want to lose this summer.

It’s good news that Rolando is back in training this week.

So young, so often injured. Undoubted talent who may never make the grade. Hope I’m wrong.

Give him a contract on condition that he can string two games in a row…

I’d be surprised about the alleged enquiries.

There is one thing I will say, when Aarons plays he livens up the team, and the supporters. Not sure if he will be ready to face the unwashed yet.

Just think it would be nice to get Aarons, Cabella and Perez on the pitch together, at least then we would have some attack minded players with pace.

    Repost (Thanks Ed 🙂 )
Morning all – I don’t know about the rest of you but I find it irritating that some teams like Scotland can play their 2 internationals by Sunday thus leaving players free for a full weeks training with their clubs such as Fletcher. Whereas some are playing meaningless friendly matches on Tuesday e.g. Holland meaning their players won’t return to their clubs until Wednesday at the earliest e.g. Janmaat & Krul. It’s madness they could easily all play their two international games by Sunday or Monday at the latest!

Great news on Aarons – realistically with a weeks training behind him he might get the last 20 minutes – hopefully we’ll be crusing to a 3 – 0 win by then 🙂

Let’s hope he signs a long term deal soon as he’s only got a year left on his current one then we can sell him on at a monstrous profit. Rejoice. Behold. Money is king.

Talking of money, those accounts that are bound to not show a hefty profit are I believe the latest they’ve ever been. Perhaps because the not so large profit is taking so long to count wink wink penfold.

    Ker ching.
