Fit Again Newcastle Player Back In Starting Eleven

It looks like a fit again Mehdi Abeid is going to be in the starting eleven against Sunderland on Sunday, and he could come in for Vurnon Anita.

Mehdi Abeid – Newcastle midfielder

The 22 year-old has had a couple of injuries this season, a broken toe he picked up while with the Algerian squad in mid-November, and a thigh injury he picked up about six weeks ago.

Mehdi is now back in full training however, and as long as he has proved his fitness this week, he will very likely come straight back into defensive midfield for Newcastle, in what looks like will be a 4-2-3-1 formation at Sunderland.

Jack Colback it seems will stay at left back, which seems a bit of a waste, but it’s likely the in-form Moussa Sissoko and Mehdi Abeid will be in the two holding midfield positions against the Black Cats.

John Carver likes the play of the Algerian midfielder and Mehdi’s very compact and doesn’t make many mistakes – although yes, he did make that mistake late in the home against the Red Devils and we lost 1-0.

But Mehdi’s all action and gives the side 100% every time he plays, and that’s what we need to see from all of our players on Sunday.

Impressive young winger Rolando Aarons is also back in training, and the 19 year-old could be on the bench for this game, and the last time we saw the skillful youngster  in action was in the game at home to Liverpool on November 1st – over five months ago.

🙁

Newcastle have lost four games in a row against Sunderland, but our readers are not all that confident we can break that streak on Sunday.

Two in five think we will lose again.

The gazette are reporting Aarons won’t be risked on Sunday. Not even in the squad.

Probably the correct call although I’d still have him on the bench personally, give him 10-15 minutes towards the end letting him build his fitness up gradually unlike the previous twerp who played him against medical advice.
