Massadio Haidara is out for the season as John Carver confirmed that he had surgery on his knee in Lyon last Thursday, and Jak Alnwick’s career at Newcastle is over, as he tweeted today that he has sustained a wrist injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.
Massadio Haidara – will return for pre-season
In his news conference today for the Sunderland game, John Carver confirmed that Massadio had surgery on his knee last Thursday.
The young Frenchman injured his knee in the last win we had – the 1-0 home win against Aston Villa back on 28th February.
This is what Carver said today:
“Sadio Haidara had a cyst taken off his knee last Thursday in France, and he won’t be available for the rest of the season.”
Massadio’s surgery was well publicized last week in France and we suppose it’s now official with John’s announcement.
And Jak Alnwick’s Newcastle career is over, after he injured his wrist and will have surgery on it soon – but his loan spell at Bradford City.
Jak Alnwick playing for the Newcastle first team this season
This is what Jak tweeted today:
“Unfortunately my season is over. On route to Manchester to get wrist surgery.” “Looking forward to a new challenge next season.”
Jak joined Newcastle from Sunderland back in 2008 as a 14 year-old, and he came through the Newcastle Youth Academy, and played for the England U17 and U18 sides.
The 21 year-old played 8 times for the Newcastle first team this season, after he was thrown in at the deep end in the second half of the home game against Chelsea.
That’s when Rob Elliott injured his thigh just before half time, and Tim Krul was already out injured, so in came Jak for the second half and we won that game 2-1 to break Chelsea’s unbeaten streak since the previous April.
The Hexham-born goalkeeper’s contract runs out at the end of June and at that time he will become a free agent.
We wish Jak all the best in his future career in football.

Jeffrey,
So after reading all that you still back the man to the hilt
Sorry for the tardiness of my response but it being Good Friday I had to feed the missus fish which was lush btw.
I think if you can be arsed to trawl through my comments I have said that even for us optimists this summer is last chance saloon.
After these financial results if we don’t kick on , all the worms will turn.

Comment #42More from Johnny C.:
“Some of you lot have demanded that we try for more than 40 points this season. That’s being greedy and unreasonable. There’s no need to get more than 38 points according to Mike. We’ll conserve energy for next season that way. It’s all the wrong minded Geordies that are causing problems for this club.”
Once again, many thanks Johnny C.

Comment #44That’s 3 draws and we’re over the line. And that would give Johnny C. 2 wins in 20 for a brilliant 10% winning rate. Would that be a record I wonder?

Comment #45We do hold the record for most draws in a season (17) along with Villa. Sunderland, Ipswich, and Derby hold the record for most losses in a season (a very spiffy 29!). With Johnny C. in charge next season we may contest some of these records. What do you think Ashley?

Comment #46We have some very exciting new tactics to try against Sunderland including running toward the opponents net with the football!!! It’s the brainchild of Ashley and Charnley but thanks to Johnny C. we’ve got the lads trying it on the pitch!!!

Comment #49The article in the Guardian, is pretty much on the money, I think weather u are a MA apologist or a MA hater, it’s hard to criticise the article, I think it should calm both sides in to a happy medium, we all know the fella MA is the money man who will continue to make money and NUFC will be financially stable, but we are craving that passion and soul that has been removed so it’s that double edged sword, There is simply nothing like going to SJP buzzing, we just want to be entertained, it’s been a long time gone, this club and it’s fantastic supporters deserve this more than anyone, Howay the lads!! We will get there again.Best things n all that.
