Newcastle Battle Top European Clubs For In-Demand Midfielder

Newcastle have been interested in Andre Ayew of Marseilles for some time now, and it looks like Liverpool are no longer interested in the Ghanaian International winger, who becomes a free agent in the summer.

Andre Ayew – decision time soon

Newcastle have already been reported as offering the 25 year-old a very good deal to sign on at the Tyneside side club and the reports were that we offered him a cool £ 2M singing on fee, and something of the order of £30K/week – but all tax-free.

Those were the reports coming out of France earlier this year, and since Andre has often said he want to come to England that’s the chance Newcastle have, with Liverpool no longer in the picture.

But he did visit Inter-Milan last week and talked with the Italian club who are after top players under new manager Roberto Mancini, as they will make an attempt to win the Serie A title again next season.

And L’Equipe is reporting today that Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg have now completed making their official bids to the player’s representatives – so we know at least four clubs are in the running for him.

Newcastle’s best chance is that we are the only English club to have made an offer, and if Andre wants to play in the Premier League as much as he says he does – then we are still in with a chance, although not knowing who the head coach will be on Tyneside, could be a disadvantage.

L’Equipe are reporting today that a decision on which club he will choose will come over the next month – and we suppose that could even mean fairly soon.

But Andre is concentrating on trying to help Marseilles win the French League title this season for the 10th time, and they are currently in 3rd place only 2 points behind leaders PSG, and because of that he may want to delay his decision.

It would a big deal if Newcastle can sign him, because it would help us get other top players to the club in the summer.

Compete / battle / challenge are three things we dont do on the pitch let alone the transfer market.
Best result tomorrow is a thrashing by the scum resulting in an empty sjp for the rest of the season. In the summer every senior player states his intent to see out his contract and walk for three.
Both of these are drastic but necessary, as the resulting loss of revenue is the only thing our to parasite owner understands and well worth the short term grief.
