Robbie Earle, Robbie Mustow Slam Newcastle United

On NBC Sports Network before tonight’s game at Liverpool, where the entire NBC crew for the Premier League were present at the game –  both Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustow gave their opinions on Newcastle and John Carver this year – and their views were not very complimentary.

Both Robbies are the studio analysts for NBC, along with former US International Kyle Martino , as they cover the Premier League games each weekend with Rebecca Lowe, the studio host.

And also at the ground tonight was Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard, who sometimes appears on the broadcasts when he’s available.

Rebecca Lowe asked the question before the game – how is John Carver doing?

Here is Robbie Earle’s answer:

“I’ve been rally disappointed if I’m honest, we know he’s a fan and it hurts him, but get on with the job John, because you are in charge of this football club.”

“Two wins in this calendar year is awful, and this club is limping towards the end of the season.”

They need to get some respect back in the club house.”

And here is Robbie Mustow’s answer:

“You asked me at the Manchester City game (5-0 loss) were they are a mess – Newcastle United is a mess and from the ownership,  I don’t know if they want to make Newcastle into a great club.”

“There’s an interim coach and injuries and suspensions.” They need to hit the rest button in the summer.”

And while Newcastle were fairly good in patches tonight in the 2-0 defeat, we should have been more than 1-0 down at the break.

The first goal was scored by Raheem Sterling after 9 minutes, but after  30 minutes we started to come into the game more and more.

We should have had a penalty in that first half, and we continued the good form into the second half – but as usual we couldn’t get a goal, and the second goal from Joe Allen after 70 minutes killed off the game.

Oh – and Moussa Sissoko stupidly got himself sent off after 82 minutes after picking up two second half yellow cards – hardly a good example from the Newcastle captain on the night.

He will now miss the Tottenham and Swansea games at home – a two match ban because he has already been sent off this season.

This year has certainly been a nightmare for John Carver and Newcastle United and in 14 games – we’ve only won two of them and lost nine.

And we’ve had Colback, Cisse, Coloccini and now Sissoko all suspended for a total of 14 games in total.

But this is what happens when you let your experienced manager leave the club half way through the season, and have no plans at all to replace him before the summer.

That same manager has a decent chance of being Manager of the Season at Crystal Palace.

The upper management of Newcastle United this year has been little short of a disgrace, and in the real business world – heads would roll.

NUFC are once again The Entertainers. Just the red nose, blue hair and painted face type.

Seriously, the only hope I have is for big loss after big loss so that those season ticket holders actually stop showing up for once! The Mackems are setting the right example too FFS!!!

That’s the thing about WUMS. They make one pathetic comment then run away. Like Ashley, no plums. And if they really believed in what they said, they would stay on and defend it. Go polish some turds Grievsie. But come back any time and we’ll have a nice set to.

I think Ashley defenders are really down in the bunkers now. Grievsie’s down there trying to light a candle.

Grievsie: “Halloooo!! Is anyone down here? I’ve got some terrific Ashley stories to tell. About what a wonderful owner he is. Yes, I’ve got them here somewhere. But then someone will have to read them for me as I don’t do that well. Reading, yes…. I’m sure that was in my curriculum at some point.”
    I love WUMs.

    Enchante,

    From Toonacious T

Look at the way Southampton is run. With class throughout. We represent a cheap imitation of a football club now. The grubby side of soul-less exploitation. Whether it is producing tat for Sports Direct or fabricating the illusion of a competitive top flight football team. This is Ashley’s football ‘product’. I for one refuse to pay for it. Boycott the remaining games.

17 free kicks for liverpool and 8 for us. The stats speaks for then selves. Always the same imbalanced refs giving the favorite team an advantage. So sick of it. The flawed penalty decision could have turned the game but never happened.
Its not like we are an aggressive team, its just bad bad imbalanced ref decisions and no one dares discuss the obvious.

And we’re a sh*te club only because of unfair refs Abbott mate? No, we’re a sh*te club because of Ashley and there are a few terrible refs in the league who should be removed. Even if they are though we will still be a sh*te club with Ashley in charge.

G2 – well spotted re that Grievesie.
    Clearly he’s a wum/multiple.
His last post was a “straight lift” from a Guardian article in December 2014.

If folk want to praise Mr Tubbs -they should argue their own point/case – I just cannot see the point in posting a verbatim extract belonging to someone else without any personal input from the poster.

Penalty shout was a stonewall according to the Liverpool players, current and ex, the Liverpool Manager and just about everybody bar the one person who counts but it would have been papering over the cracks and we can’t score or keep a clean sheet at the minute, so we are deep in the brown stuff…again!

Actually although the replays show it was a clear penalty . From Mason’s angle of view , in real time , you can see why he thought it was a dive.
Folk can bang on about technology and bias and game chamging decisions , I think one of the main problems is refs being fit enough to keep up with the modern game. I like the Europa Leagues 2 extra refs assistants one at each end , because the vast majority of contentious issues occur in and around the penalty box.
Can I take this opportunity to apologise to BandB for talking about footy on a footy forum one hour after a game

Aye yes, I had factored on Jeff from Bellend, they showed on the analysis from SkySports that the ref had the best view possible and it was inexplicable that he didn’t give, but we will discount the opinions of Carragher and Neville and instead go with the observations from your well trained eye…NOT.

So let’s get this right I can see how the ref made the mistake but you choose to mock me and go with the referees conspiracy theory , so did Mason do it for a bribe or because he hates Geordies ?
