We’ve admitted in the past few months that we’ve been just a little concerned about the long-term injury to Rolando Aarons, and the 19 year-old talented youngster has struggled to come back from those hamstring injuries this season – and he’s been out since November 1st last year.
But interim coach John Carver has some good news today, and he says the winger will be back playing again before the end of the season.
Rolando Aarons – in action at the Etihad in October
There was a Shields Gazette exclusive out earlier in the week, that reported Rolando had another relapse, and that he would be out for the season, but John Carver has denied that’s the case.
This is what John Carver has said on the Newcastle web-site today:
“Rolando will not be out until the end of the season.” “He had a tough physical session a couple of weeks ago and reacted to it. We put him through a scan but found nothing.”
“We are going to refer him to another specialist for a third opinion to see what happens when those results come back.”
“The good news was he hasn’t torn or pulled his hamstring again, so we’re sending him to the specialist to see if there’s anything else that may be wrong.”
It still seems Newcastle are unsure exactly what’s wrong with Rolando, so it’s good that he will be seeing another specialist again.
Maybe the exact problem can be found and fixed, but until the real problem is pinpointed (if there is a problem), then it’s difficult to know whether we will see him again this season.
Some of this could be in Rolando’s head because serious injuries do tend to affect you, when you have been out a while.
Let’s hope we see the 19 year-old before the end of the season, and he continues the sparkling form he showed earlier in the season.
Oh and yes – we keep him at the club this summer.
Comments welcome.
Note: Jamie Macdonald is a final year student at the University of Hull completing a degree in Business, and he’s been an avid Newcastle fan all his life, and to help him with his dissertation here is a questionnaire you can fill out and it takes just a couple of minutes.
The survey is about consumer attitudes towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – and it only takes a minute or two to complete – thanks for your help.

It would be easier to just parachute in.
I doubt Ashley will turn up anyway, whenever there is direct confrontation he disappears and send some other lying clowns in.

The club has a long history of relegations. Its not unique to Ashley. When we got relegated it wasn’t long after Ashley took over. He got us back up immediately which is credit to him. That rarely happens with any relegated club.

Comment #50GeordieTwo I agree with you 100%. I think we have all been hoping that once he fixed up the club’s finances he would turn his attentions to the football. Based on latest financial results we are looking very healthy indeed and it is definitely time to ‘splash the cash’. I’m not a supporter of the boycott as I believe we should support the team whenever they are playing, but management has to become more ambitious. But I’m concerned that in the current environment it may be difficult to convince players to sign for NUFC (assuming that is something management intends doing) But, having said that, if they don’t sort out the quality and depth of the squad in the summer then I would suggest a boycott of Sports Direct and NUFC merchandise. Unfortunately after 40 years of supporting the club through the days of the entertainers and through relegations and FA Cup final losses, I can’t turn my back on the players. That is unfortunately not an option for me!

What exactly do you want from him? Same question to other boycotters. Even £30M won’t be enough to compete with the big boys.

For those of us who would love to, but cannot attend on Sunday, whether that be due to work, getting one of those free drinks from a local pub, attending the game, located elsewhere in Blighty, or, like me, stuck in some other corner of the world, you can show your support and solidarity by submitting pictures and messages of support from your very own personal boycott to show you’re with your fellow fans.
Make them serious, profound, funny and inventive.
Ashleyout.com, and those originally behind the idea of this particular protest already have the following methods of submitting such pictures – so go get creative!
Twitter: #BoycottSpurs
Instagram: https://instagram.com/AshleyOutdotcom/
For those of you who will still be scratching your head, feel free to submit any pictures to me via my email address ibizatoon2015@gmail. com and I’ll do my bit and get them up.
Don’t forget to include with your picture that you’re from the nufcblog. com site and where you’re sending your protest picture from. Also, don’t forget on the day, when posting links to this site, 1 link per post to avoid moderation.
We are united. HWTF
DISC: This post has been modified to work on the blog. I’ll be submitting further info soon in another format. Stay tuned.

Comment #55Aarrghhhh Blackleg! I’ll be calling ye Bed & Breakfast from now on matey!!! We need to take steps to put a fire under MIke’s tiny nuts. That means protests of all sorts mate. I want him to hire a proper manager. Forget this head coach bollocks. Take proper advice. Spend money where possible. Renew confidence in the club. Sack the whole coaching staff and let the new manager pick his people. Sack Charnley. Make us proud of our club. The reason the ground is so quiet is because our team is diabolical. Change or leave Ashley!!!

we expect ambition. along with careful investment, a professional, ambitious and talented coaching set up. we expect pride and honesty. we expect the people in charge to be open, dependable and fit for purpose. you don’t necessarily need 30m for that. most of it is intangible.

I agree with that. But the club has honestly stated it’s ambition, which is realitic given its means, and the fans don’t like the reality. We can’t compete with the mega rich clubs and it’s only going to get more difficult under FFP rules from what I can see.

You say Ashley runs the buisness side well, could you explain how when hall and Sheperd where in charge the club was on Deloitles list at no8 under Ashley we’re 18th.
Could you explain how you see commercial and match day takings being a hell of a lot lower under Ashley’s tenure as good buisness practise.
We’ve made profit the last 4 seasons.
