There was a report in the Shields Gazette early last week that was labeled an exclusive, and that Rolando Aarons suffered another relapse in trying to come back from that hamstring injury of his – and he would now be out for the rest of the season.
Rolando Aarons – picking up the Wor Jackie award in March
Rolando has tried to clear up the situation today, and has said (as far as he knows), he is not our of the rest of the season:
“I went home – I think it was on Wednesday – I had a nap after training,” “I got loads of text messages saying ‘don’t worry about it, keep your head up, don’t worry, focus on next season’.”
“I got puzzled. I don’t know where that has come from. No one has told me (that I am out for the rest of the season), so don’t believe anything unless it comes from me or the club, it is not always the truth.”
What John Carver made clear yesterday is that the 19 year-old was struggling in training last week, and they therefore had a scan done on the hamstring and nothing showed up.
So their next step is to get Aarons to another specialist, to see what could be wrong with the player.
It could simply be in Rolando’s head, but it would be very good if we can get him back playing for the last few games of the season.
But it’s coming up to six months since he last played for us, so it’s still possible he could miss the last six games, and certainly he will not be in the squad for tomorrow’s home game against Tottenham.
We wont say the game is a must win game tomorrow, but we have to start picking up points soon to remain above the relegation zone, and we have to play at bottom club Leicester in a couple of weeks time.
And we’ve lost the last four away games and have failed to score a goal in any of those games.
🙁
A win tomorrow would certainly lift some anxiety building on Tyneside.
What do you think?
Comments welcome.
Note: Jamie Macdonald is a final year student at the University of Hull completing a degree in Business, and he’s been an avid Newcastle fan all his life, and to help him with his dissertation here is a questionnaire you can fill out and it takes just a couple of minutes.
The survey is about consumer attitudes towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – and it only takes a minute or two to complete – thanks for your help.

I contacted them myself and offered my services with no reply.
Yeah I’ll email Ibiza when my brain kicks in, poor nights sleep.
I’m a bit of a socialiser so I know a few of the pub owners and managers round the ground, I might as well get some posters and drop them in each pub.
I’ll hand a few out whilst I’m in town, who’s going to say no to the angriest hippy in the world?
They’ll do as I say if the want my custom to keep them in buisness ::)

Good lad,
They are trying to catch up with a lot of individual offers of help. They want us to supply some volunteers.
You know how the argument will go on Monday; “there was a few handing out leaflets and getting pelters and a whole bunch of young kids and thugs standing about watching. Pathetic!”
Ibiza has stirred I see….

I look the most unlikely football fan lol.
I’m meeting up with a few pals so we’ll be on the case, like I said any resistance will be met with a polite “fcuk u have a nice day”
I’ve took shit in worse situations than this and due to standing orders had to suck it up, a few nay Sayers is a piece of cake.
However……
If you see a hippy strangling a few radgies pop over and say hi 😉

He keeps saying he really is as injured as the club claims.
If he really has such gammy legs at his age, you’d think he’d sign the contract, wouldn’t you?
There can’t be that many 19 year-olds in Newcastle drawing £6000 a week for six months on the sick.

Comment #10OP…You mention some pals – are these numbers that can be mentioned to ao.com for help?
I know they’re an organised bunch, so in the next few hours I’ll be sending them a final list of names / numbers so they can fine tune the last details.
Come on folks, don’t miss the last train, choo choo.

Comment #19I’ve read a few posters say they’ve contacted AO.com and not received a reply.
They’re no doubt a little swarmed right now and it’s just a case of prioritising.
They’ve committed to a lasting campaign, this is just the first step. Together we stand.
